1747349 tn?1332683680 The preferred practice is to use so-called "tripple therapy" involving three different antibiotics. The selction of the antibiotics vary (H-Pylori replication is inhibited by many different antibiotics), however the general idea is to attack three different mechanisms used in bacterial replication. Preferably the antibiotics come from different classes.
Avatar n tn If you've have black tarry stools and anemia and positive for H. Pylori, should you always be treated with antibiotics or are there are other treatment options?. Are there any situations where antibiotics are not used but you are positive of H. pylori? Avatar m tn can a person still have sexua intercourse while taking the antibiotic for this bacteria, and what's the chances of this reoccurring after a good round of antibiotics, how contagious is this, how are the different ways its transmitted ?
17262270 tn?1455065658 What are the signs of H. Pylori? My husband was diagnosed a month ago and he didn't take his medication like he was supposed to! My stomach has been feeling rather icky lately.
Avatar f tn There are various combinations, the idea being to simultaneously attack three different methods of replication, because the cells mutate. There is more than one variety of H. Pylori. The bacteria exists on raw chicken sometimes and you can get reinfected. Wash and cook chicken thoroughly and sterilize all cutting boards. There are arguments pro and con administering acid reducing medications. The "pro" is that they inhibit replication.
Avatar n tn If you've had H. pylori in the past, the blood test that you just had is NOT the correct test that should be done to recheck you for H. pylori. You're going to have antibiodies in the blood from that 1st round of H. pylori and the recent blood test may be a false positive. The only test that can be used (with a history of H. pylori infection) is a breath test. Go back and talk to your doc about this. If the breath trest turns up positive, then you need to be treated.
Avatar n tn If they tested for the presence to antibodies in the blood to H. pylori, and you've had an H. pylori infection in the past, the blood test would come up positive in that test. If a biopsy whas then taken - after the infection had been cleared up - the biopsy would show negative. If a person has had an H. pylori infection in the past and has been treated, the 'best' way of checking if the bacteria is still present is via a breath test.
Avatar m tn Hello Everyone, I am 38 years old, I have been suffering from the IBS for few years now, but I was able to manage the symptoms so far, until last year when I started feeling heartburn, after consulting with an internist I was diagnosed positive for H Pylori(UBT Test), the doctor advised to treat it using triple therapy(Pantazol 40mg, Ospamox 1000mg, Avalox 400mg) for seven days, I managed to take it only for 4 days, then I agreed with the doctor to stop it because I was having very strong side e
Avatar f tn I have a friend that just found out that he may have h pylori. what is that?
Avatar m tn Thanks for you response. Usually what is the window period to re-test h-pylori after completing the antibiotics. Is there a chance that the burping occures even after the h-polyri eradication? Can this be re-tested through stool test origionally i was diagonised with h- pylori through endoscopy. I am already taking probiotics "Yakult". And i have used 10 days of pantocid HP kit for h-pylori treatement Thanks in advance for the help!
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with H. Pylori bacteria. My doctor said it was not contagious but I called my daughters pediatrician nurse and she said its possible. I also found it was on Mayo Clinic. I'm scared of starting my treatment and becoming reinfected. Can someone please give me advice????!!!
Avatar f tn I had h pylori a few years back which caused severe indigestion, the h pylori was eradicated with antibiotics and I started feeling better, anyway, today while I was on a train some old guy sneezed in to my hand it was so gross!
Avatar f tn So I have a new dr now and she said h pylori has become increasingly resistant to antibiotics and this is consistent with my research. I would strongly suggest you try mastic gum extract along with lifestyle and dietary changes. Also, taking a substantial dosage of hcl betaine before high protein meals helps a lot. Melatonin has also been proven to increase your chances of effective treatment when taken in combo with the antibiotic therapy. You could also try it by itself.
Avatar f tn So 1 week ago a have been dignosed with ucler and h pylori. Had symtoms for a month till they were able to figure out what it was... Bloading ,stomach pain ,loud stomach , constipation, nausea. Anyway I been taking meds for 6 days now ( 3 different types of antibiotics) the first 4days I felt much better but the pain came back again specialy under rib cage and loud stomach I have 8 days more left of treatment.
Avatar m tn I just finished treatment 2 days ago for h pylori. It was two weeks on omeprazole, clarithromycin and Metronidazol for two weeks. The original pain I was having was heartburn, bloating and a pain on my side just under my rib cage. The antibiotics gave me diarrhea several times each day. I still have the diarrhea, as well as the heartburn and pain on my side. is this pain on my side something else? A hernia? A really bad ulcer?
1224359 tn?1267048572 Is it possible H Pylori is still in my system and I need to take more antibiotics or could this be more?
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with H Pylori & took a 10 day treatment of antibiotics... My question is has anyone experience this & how long did it take for you to feel better??? My symptoms are chest pains, joint pains, tingling fingers/toes, ANXIETY out the roof, acne, white tongue, bad breathe, rashes, gas, bloating, pain under my ribs, brain fog, pain between shoulder blades, weight loss, no appetite & all these things are happening at once... Any insight would be helpful!
Avatar f tn The antibiotics can really make you sick and you can feel worse. Once the H. pylori is cleared up - depending on how long you've had it you may still not feel well because the H. pylori causes a change in the output of your acid and that may still be going on. Most docs will then prescribe a course of acid suppression meds and diet to try to tamp down the gastritis that H. pylori often leaves behind.
