Avatar n tn My lip and side of face swollen. Very noticeable. I finished my antibiotics yesterday - feel somewhat better except for lingering headaces (weird type) and still tired. Rash is gone. Starting to have trouble sleeping again. My tests did come back with early lymes infection - took antibiotics for 21 days but still do do not feel right. Anyone hear of this at all? Its weird.
242516 tn?1368223905 The flu has passed epidemic rates in much of the country, and if you don't have a cold, I'm sure you have a friend who has the sniffles, fever, chills, aches and pains of a viral upper respiratory infection. This is different from a bacterial infection such as sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A viral infection doesn't improve with antibiotics as these infections do. A virus hijacks your own body's healthy cells and uses it to reproduce and spread.
969557 tn?1314370614 I just started a cure of antibiotics, metronidazol (53 days post EOT). Read the precaution section first and couldn't find anything that would mean I couldn't use it so I took the pills thinking my dr. wouln't have prescibed it if there would be a problem. This is immediately not the same dr that has followed me during tx, so I couldn't be sure.
Avatar n tn Try oral antibiotics and use extremely mild soap to wash your face. A good facial skincare line that is almost all organic is Southwest Sunshine. It is what I have been using with great success. Best wishes!
1000870 tn?1250546410 I put my face over steam which worked temporarily but the antibiotics were the only thing that eventually got rid of it -- though slowly. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Sorry there was a typo on my first post I should have said And, the dose you took for your face (or skin) maybe different than what you would be treated for your CT /GC or an STD. I was pretty tired when I wrote. I also meant to say that If these tests come back negative I wouldn't worry. If you were exposed (obviously by having unprotected sex or whatever reason), there could be other STD's to worry about.
Avatar n tn If the symptoms are not controlled by topical antibiotics, then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult your dermatologist and discuss this with him. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Thanks so much for your response. I will post a photo of when my face was swollen when I get to my computer. I have recently been oil pulling (coconut) do you know if this is enough to use as an anti fungal? I haven't heard of systemic candida yeast infection.
Avatar f tn My cat has an infection from a bite to his face. He weighs 9lbs. and is 11yrs. old. Can I give him amoxicillin? How much and how often? I cleaned the wound w/ peroxide and applied neosporin.
Avatar m tn An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. If the symptoms persist then topical and oral antibiotics may be needed for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn Since I cannot examine your daughter and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!

Avatar f tn I've had a reoccurring rash that I get around my mouth. I had been putting betamethasone on it which would clear it up but then would come back within a week if I quit using cream. Finally got insurance and was prescribed a po antibiotic and triamcinolone acetonide dental paste?? Even that seemed to help and antibiotics kept it gone for about 1-3 months but back. I'm 28. Ive quit using all products and even towels on face to no avail.
Avatar n tn The main factors which lead to acne are oil, bacteria and hormones. As Vanessa says, your doctor or dermatologist will assess your acne and decide whether a topical or oral treatment is best for you. Dermatologists have found the most effective topical prescription gel to be Differin especially when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics or an anti-androgen contraceptive pill like Diane35 (females only). Avatar n tn My face has been breaking out for about the past month or so. The bumps seem to just come and go almost daily as they please, also sometimes little dry looking spots on my face. Mostly small bumps on my face, sometimes growing a little big. Ive also noticed little bumps on my shoulders and arms, that seem to just be popping up randomly. Not sure if this is related, but I also have been experiencing nasal congestion, it seems like I have been picking my nose constantly.
Avatar n tn It is common to get yeast infections after beingon antibiotics. My mum always told me to get into the yoghurt to prevent it, so may help your case?
Avatar m tn Having diarrhea after antibiotics is not rare, but also not normal. I recommend you to have stool test for C-diff and for occult blood. Having problems with breathing is probably from the acid coming up into your throat and then down into lungs. You should fix this promptly, it may damage your lungs (aspiration pneumonia, with lung scars). There's another possibility - alergy to one of antibiotics. Would you say you have any lips or face swelling or skin itching?
Avatar n tn these are your antibiotics? why do you think your kitties need antibiotics? what strength are they and how much do the kitties weigh? you do know that using an antibiotic on cats can be dangerous...you have to be very sure there is an actual infection, than the culture needs to show what antib will work for that strain.
Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to folliculitis caused by staph, acne, pityrosporum folliculitis caused by fungal infection and sebaceous cysts. Treatment for all are different. It can vary from antibiotics for staph and bacterial infection , antifungals for pityrosporum folliculitis to excision for sebaceous cysts. You should get it evaluated from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn However, if the second drug does not eliminate all your symptoms, inform your doctor for proper management. It may take a longer time before the effects could be seen depending on the dose. Or you may be shifted to a stronger drug with milder side effects. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 25 year old female who has been struggling with acne and itchy skin for 5 years now. I've been to several dermatologists that debate the diagnosis of Rosacea or just sensitive skin. I've been on all types of topicals and antibiotics with no relief from the itch. My face itches and feels tight practically everyday and seems to come and go in bursts of intensity. Some days it feels completely normal and then instantly becomes itchy and tight feeling.
Avatar m tn Well it depends on your exposure, whether it was unprotected or not.
Avatar n tn I have noticed a pattern which I was reminded of recently, and that is whenever I take a round of antibiotics, it relieves the swelling for a while. I finished a 10 day course on Avelox about a week and a half ago, and so far have had no swelling. Does anybody have any idea why this happens?
