Avatar f tn Newborns can't watch TV. Newborns eyes can barely see. You have to be 12 inches in front of your baby for them to make you out. All they can see is dark color. So even if she puts your babybto watch TV they can't see anything just hear it and see the light from it.
7172456 tn?1403092946 Just a quick one, how maybe boxes of newborn size nappies did you use before they needed the next size? I have 2 boxes of nappies for newborns, will I need more or will my baby grow out of them before I need another box? Thankyou!!!
Avatar f tn ll have an IV during labor/delivery as a precaution for baby since newborns do not have antibody to strep. We have lots of bacteria in our bodies.
Avatar f tn Uh I never said anything about only using one breast...they told us to use each breast but to keep the baby on for 10-15 minutes for each feeding so that the milk has a chance to come out....I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be able to have a class if she was giving the wrong information.
Avatar f tn These antibiotics, in most cases, will prevent infection to the fetus and newborn. These same antibiotics are also given to newborns with listeriosis. *****************.org/pregnancycomplications/listeria.
Avatar f tn Hey ladies! So this is my first pregnacy and im in need of some tips.. This seems to be a often concern cause I'm sure some of you mama bears over buy on some stuff to find out the little ones grow out way too fast.. So I mean I really need advice on how many boxes I should start out with for newborns. Most of you will probably reply with (it depends). Of course cause all baby's are different. I was a 6 lb baby and my fiance was 7 lbs. So very tiny baby's..
Avatar f tn we ended up buying a rocking/musical bassinet for next to the bed for our little girls first few months. he said that if you go ahead and get one that rocks and plays music, youre set for all of your babies preferences. one of his boys like the rocking and the other liked the lullaby it played. that way also, im close to my baby without worrying about rolling onto her or her suffocating on a pillow/blanket.
Avatar f tn So, I have a bassinet in my room and and I plan on having my baby sleep in there in our room for the first while. My question is in the nighttime when the babys diaper needs changing did most mommies have these necessities to change them in your room or would you walk and change them on the change table in their room during the night.....??
Avatar f tn We went out for coffee after 1 week. My mum had told me your supposed to keep them home for the first 6wks but she had her last baby like 30something years ago and dr said its just not necessary.
Avatar n tn It is uncommon for it to happen, but I was really paranoid about it and opted to not give her water for a while. Plus a newborn's stomach is so small that an ounce or two of water will fill them up and then they won't want their breastmilk or formula, which is the main source of nutrition.
10078473 tn?1409215186 They will have to give you antibiotics before and I believe during labor and your baby may need to receive antibiotics after labor.
Avatar f tn I had my son on the 5th and he sleeps about 6 hours at night now. But he needs to be either swaddled or wrapped in his favorite blanket. We also need to hold him until be falls asleep or he will scream bloody murder until we pick him up. What I do to calm my little one is I lay down on the couch and put him on top of me with his head on my chest, and rub his back. He's out within minutes.
Avatar f tn the different between newborn and size 1 is that one is longer in the front so I just fold it down like they would do if you had a premie to big for newborns. this was I know I will always use them up.
Avatar f tn She Said Its Completely Normal To Get It While Being Pregnant And Since I Cant Take Any Medicine/Pills For It Cause I Have 2 Weeks Left For My Due Date, Once Im In The Hospital They Will Inject Me Antibiotics So My Babygirl Wont Catch The Infection/Bacteria
Avatar f tn Sounds like jaundice.
Avatar n tn How old is your baby? Newborns tend to have clogged tear drainage ducts which can cause a discharge which resembles pus. Try holding a warm wet washcloth over your baby's eyes for a few minutes, then gently wipe the lids and lashes with the cloth. This can help. If s/he seems to be bothered by them, itches at them, or if they are red you might want to visit an eye doctor to see if s/he has an infection.
Avatar n tn my wife is 40 weeks pregnant, I have been diagnosed with whooping cough, and been taking antibiotics for 8 days now to be safe. My wife is developing a small cough tonight. I have medication here, we have both been tested and results for her will come in two days. My question is, we are worried she will go into labour, and not be able to care for the baby. would it be better for her to start the medication now as a precaution and stop if the tests say she has not got it? Will it harm the baby?
419158 tn?1316571604 d suggest getting 0-3 months for Gerber and newborn for Carters, and if anything the clothes may be a little big, which is better than being a too small, she'll have some room to grow, and you can always pick up some smaller ones later.
Avatar f tn s important for newborns to get on a schedule when you sleep and only take 2-3 naps a day for a few hours at a time. my doctor said that a bath or warm lotion before be will help soothe them and then you'll want to make sure they're swaddled and when you put them down for the night, don't let them fall asleep with you because they'll always depend ON YOU to fall asleep and refuse to be put down alone.
Avatar f tn ve got her playpen set up in our bedroom beside my bed, I purchased diapers today, I washed all her clothes n folded them into her dresser, got about 10+ blankets to change, grip water, Tylenol n iboprufen for infants, her car seat is ready n adjusted to newborns size, her diaper bag is ready for when she decides to meet us n if you ladies can think of anything I'm missing please feel free to comment.
Avatar f tn If you don't take the antibiotics and your baby gets sick it's something that can threaten a newborns life so it's really not worth that risk. I had the drip during my labour i got 2 doses and my son was fine.
Avatar f tn Both huggies and pampers are both good for newborns. They were the only diapers my kids could use because they had allergies and would get a bad rash with others.
3062924 tn?1350414109 I have 2 boys and I also was a carrier for group b strep, not a big deal, while your in labour they'll hook pen g into your IV so it will have no affect on your baby :)
Avatar f tn I know it can hurt newborns, which is the whole reason for the antibiotics.. And I know it can be in your intestines.. I'm just wondering how you actually get it. Those are really the only things that ever get explained when I've researched it.. Nothing is ever explained about HOW you get it.
