Avatar f tn Thank you for your consern. Do you know a lot about this disease or any body who has had it.? I think I might go in tomorrow. Also can any body tell me what would happen if I were to be pregnant while having sepsis. Any doctors out there? I'm kinda new to this.
Avatar f tn Thus, it is prudent to see a physician as soon as possible and follow his/her recommendations for treatment. In sepsis, death often results not from the bacteria themselves, but from the toxic products (from killed bacteria) discharged into the bloodstream when such infections are treated with antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Sepsis is often because of the GBS virus. They must have given him antibiotics? Do speak to your doctor about your concerns, or find an other doctor!
Avatar n tn You definitely oral antibiotics. You shouldn't prolong it because the infection could reach you kidneys which is detrimental to your health. Right now it's probably just in your bladder, but you need antibiotics. If you took the antibiotics the UTI would go away within days. I think it would be worth the money since you don't have health insurance. Just make sure you get your money's worth and ask lots of questions at your appointment and don't worry about being annoying.
Avatar f tn never diagnosed him with anything other than a bleed but I’ve always wondered if it could have been herpes. He wasn’t treated with anything other than antibiotics. I’ve always wondered for his future and I know there are no blood tests that you can get for babies are the more accurate way to test in adults is by a culture or pcr.
Avatar f tn My mother is 57 has rheumatoid arthritis, lupus & diabetic for over 20 years. My mother has had 2 heart attacks with 6 stints & a stroke last October. After all of her health problems she was still 100% independent until 01/29/2008 when she was having left hip pain the week prior & she thought it was her arthritis flaring up after extreme pain & unable move in the bed & walk without assistance we took her to the emergency room where her temperature was 103.
Avatar f tn I did have a urine infection and inflammation on the ovaries just a few months after the op which was treated with antibiotics and I felt better for a while but the problem returned a few months later and I ended up having a swab which showed group b strep. I had antibiotics to treat that too and once again the problem returned so I had another scan which showed a functional ovarian cyst and as the scan didn't show much they put it down to adhesions.
Avatar f tn Not long after the last admission in July, an Infectious Diseases doctor started me on a preventive program using three different antibiotics - the 1st (Amoxicillin) for 30 days, the 2nd for 30 days, the 3rd for 30 days, then repeat the cycle. That will hopefully prevent the antibiotics from becoming ineffective while keeping the Sepsis from gaining a foothold.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for quick reply. I will ask re NJ on my visit today. Your suggestions much appreciated.
Avatar n tn Then pain then required opiates, but I knew i was in real trouble when it eventually felt like heart attack sx coming on. Drs whispered sepsis without action. It took 25 years for me to be realize that all my Dr's who stated it wasn't Lyme were convincingly misguiding me, and for a good soul at the right time to say, 'sounds like Lyme'. It's the most controversial disease of our lifetime because millions go undiagnosed every year!
Avatar f tn I had a septic blood disease 5 years ago which caused spots on my lung and my brain. I was hospitalized for 32 days over the course of three months. Typically IV antibiotics would cure this within six weeks but it took 24 weeks of hardcore IV antibiotics through a PICC line. Does this make my immune system more susceptible to catching the coronavirus at this time?
Avatar m tn She is taking hydralazine 50mg for high BP, Sertraline 25mg for depression, Nitrofur Mac 50mg for UTI, Donepezil 10mg for memory loss, and Novolin for high blood sugar. We also have a PT that comes to her house but that is not really helping.

Avatar n tn Any stool tests to check for ova or parasites? Before this started, were you taking any medications? Antibiotics? Were you traveling? Do you have any underlying medical conditions? Anything at all change that could have provoked the odor?
Avatar f tn s vaginas which is why they test for it towards the end of pregnancy. If you go into labor without antibiotics and the baby has its mouth open it can cause sepsis among other things that's why they give you antibiotics when you start labor to prevent that.
1078034 tn?1351089685 I would not wish this on anyone I had to give up breastfeeding because of the antibiotics im on. And ive been sleeping for the past three days...
1831849 tn?1383228392 m not sure if you were here when I had this happen, so a quick run down - the shakes would come and go but I was being treated for a UTI with regular antibiotics. I would finish the round and a few days later be tested again for the UTI and find the infection was still there. I would take another round, be off them for a week or so and then be retested and the UTI was still there. This went on and on over several months.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I was hospitalized for 5 days with a severe staph infection and discharged 10/28 with a PICC line to receive antibiotics for another 10 days. There were suspicions of sepsis due to my symptoms upon admittance, but fortunately, the infection never spread to my bloodstream. It did however take 4 days to really respond to the antibiotics. In any case, the PICC line was removed last Monday.
Avatar n tn I was hoping it was from the infection and the antibiotics would take of it. Thank you for your help though.
Avatar n tn Bedsore was so bad doctors had debridement and it went to her bone and got sepsis. Now her infection went to bone and blood she also had lungs infection, vancomycin-resistant enterococci and ecoli infection. She also got bedsore on her heels. It smells really bad from her bedsore. Her blood pressure is 100/56 or low. She cannot talk and swallow. she had a food pipe. The put urine catheter and Stool tube. All the antibiotics are resistant to the bacterial infection.
Avatar f tn Hi & welcome Emma, I am sorry that you and your daughter are going through this. I have a friend who had Sepsis a few years ago, Sepcis or Septicaemia is quiet a nasty condition. It can spread (very quickly) through the blood to many organs in the body preventing blood getting to vital tissue in the body. She may just be weak as this will take a lot out of someone and this is why her voice is weak. Inflammation could be a problem affecting her ability to swallow.
Avatar m tn There are also other reasons why sepsis can set-in. Sepsis can be the result of an underlying condition or infection that has been left untreated. As a dog owner, you may not have known your dog was ill. Dogs are very good at hiding these things. The first symptom was clearly only displayed a day or two ago, but the underlying illness may have been going on for months. I am of course very sorry for your loss. Even with treatment, your dog may not have recovered.
