im assuming your Dr was aware that your pregnant when he prescribed them? just saying there are different kinds of antibiotics and some are considered safe while preg and others are avoided...

I am 9wks 2days I was put on antibiotics last Thursday for a chest infection, I've never had a yeast infection in my life I'm only 20, but last night after I had sex it burned when I pee'd and its been itchy for a couple of days down there, I was looking on the internet and it said both antibiotics and pregnancy both can cause yeast infections, and my symptoms are those of a yeast infection... I just don't know what to do, I already have an OB appointment for Nov. 14th..

anyway, its the pregnancy hormone, dont take tylenol or any when you are preg, or ask ur GYN before taking, orajel was on my mind, i heard a home remedy its bite(or put on affectd teeth) a clove, its a herbal spice small dark brownish (mostly u can get from indian/asian stores) hope i spell it rite. it can get relived from toothache.

i had to take antibiotics in the 1st trimester with my last preg because of infections....infections can be dangerous if left untreated so you want to get rid of the infection anytime i was in doubt about any medicine i called my family doc or a maybe you have nurses/doc that is in your family or close friends....i have cousins and nurses who are nurses so i always run to them when im worried about something like this my suggestion is if you trust your family doc, call them and ask them....

I was prescribed ciprofloxacin for a UTI today, and am a little nervous about taking it because it says "It did not cause birth defects but it did appear to increase the risk for miscarriages when given to pregnant rabbits." what?!?! My Ob suggested it, and the pharmacist said it doesn't sound like it will be an issue and if the OB suggested it, then it's probably fine.. Ughh I hate taking medicine. Did anyone else use oral antibiotics during early pregnancy and turn out okay?!

Basically in a nut shell my son has tonsilitis my daughters had a chest infection , I've had a flu and now I have acute sinusitis this is affecting my eyes teeth ears I am 36 weeks preg and its fair to say that I am exhausted after nursing my kids back to health and me being ill ! I went for the tests yesterday and it came back positive. I'm happy , but still in shock! I were on cotraception so obviousely I couldn't become preg. But being a silly 19 year old girl I didn't think. I had bladder infection and had a antibiotics shot 3 days before the unprotected sex. so as most of you know the antibiotics made the pill useless. so now I'm preg. jipee. Okay so im scheduled to get my tooth pulled in 2 weeks, my dentist prescribed me 2 weeks worth of antibiotics to take because the medicine that they usually use to numb a patient getting a tooth pulled is not good for the baby so they supplement that for antibiotics, I just wanted to know if any other mom evr took antibiotics while preg?? Most/many antibiotics are safe while pregnant. I have had to take antibiotics many times during first trimesters of various pregnancies and all 7 of my babies have been healthy.

How safe are antibiotics during the first trimester? I was prescribed azithromycin before i new i was pregnant.. I have a throat infection and i am afraid to take the meds.. But i wa reading that if the infection isnt cleared it can go to the baby..

Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.

Anyone had strep throat while preg. I think I might have it and I'm going to call the Dr. I'll have to call my OB as I don't have a primary. I was wondering if anyone had been in the same boat though and what the Dr. did or perscribed.

Two days after the last time we slept together, I started a dose of 2000mg of amoxicillin a day for six days for a tooth infection after root canal. After finishing the antibiotics I had spotting for 3-4 days. Was told by my OB/GYN and then my PCP it was most likely bc my antibiotics made my BCP ineffective since I'm on low dose BCP. I just need reassured that there isn't any chance that I could be pregnant due to sperm remaining alive or something.

my doc prescribes me antibiotics everytime, but i just dont feel safe taking them during my pregnancy. I bought some GNC probiotics to take instead of the antibiotics but the warning label says to advice health care provider before taking them. But my apt isnt until weds. When I had a miscarriage last Nov. I swore I was either still preg or got preg again really fast. It took a few weeks to return to normal. I am also having ANOTHER miscarriage right now. This time all my symptoms of being preg are gone. I could probably tell you what time i lost the baby. I'm soooo sorry for your loss and pray you wont have to go thru it again.
