I HAVE BAD REACTIONS TO ANTIDEPRESSANTS SO THE ONLY THING THAT THE DOCTORS HAVE ME ON IS XANAX 1MG. AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH SORE JOINTS AND MUSCLES IN MY ARMS AND KNEES AND A NUMB FEELING IN MY HANDS. MY DOCTOR HASN'T CHANGED ANY OF MY MEDS NOR HAVE I TAKEN ANYTHING DIFFERENT. I ALSO NOTICED I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP WITH HEADACHES, DRY MOUTH, AND SOMETIMES BURNING EYES.

But I got to the point you are now, and knew I needed help. For me, that help was a combination of xanax and therapy. You've been prescribed a very low dose of xanax. For most people, it takes the edge off the anxiety, and may cause sleepiness. For me, personally, it helps me relax. I'd really encourage you to find a counselor you can talk to. Medication can help the symptoms of anxiety, but a good therapist/psychologist, etc.

I was on antibiotics for an ear infection and now have a yeast infection. The GP gave me a RX for Diflucan. I took that much earlier tonite. I just happened to read the Prescription info sheet & it has Xanax as an interacting drug but it doesnt say how. I tried googling and cant see why it shouldnt be taken.. I did see where under Xanax it says one of the drugs to avoid is Diflucan. Why would an antifungal med interact with a sedative?

I've used both (I'm on daily probiotics and just recently was on antibiotics for pneumonia) and didn't really have many issues. The antibiotics gave me worse diarrhea but it clears up after time - nothing in regards to adverse effects being used together. In reality anything can have an adverse affect with any medication. Even just taking OTC pain meds. All things are given on a risk/benefits scale, and he seems to think this one will work best for you.

I had a really hard time detoxing from Xanax, and i wanted off for the same reasons you want off. However, you do have panic attacks, so again, I am no doctor but i do think you still need to be on meds for that... Withdrawing from Xanax for me was hard. I had to taper off with another benzodiazepine. I now am not sure what to do were my wife swing into mania, for I got really anxious in the past when she did. I also was given Xanax to deal with sleeping problem.

I am prescribed xanax for anxiety (recently for anxiety and panic attacks) and I got doxycycline hyclate for a sinus infection yesterday from a small clinic. I completely forgot to ask if there was an interaction between these two drugs. I may not even have to take the xanax, only if I have a panic attack will I. Does anyone know if there is an interaction between these two?

Ok so went there today and it turned out I have a wisdom tooth coming down and it's just hurting, got antibiotics and I should be fine! God that's such a load off my mind!

Hello all, I recently found out that I have a urinary tract infection and have to take antibiotics for 10 days, 2x daily. I really don't like taking medication and am very nervous about it; but I have too in order to get rid of the infection. It's a medication they give pregnant ladies quite often-can't remember the name (nope, not pregnant).

I was on Xanax for four years, low-dose (between .25 and 1.25mg/day) but steady, for insomnia. About 21 months ago I experienced a comprehensive mental and physical health crash that included, but was not limited to, severe depersonalization, dizziness, fatigue, anhedonia (probably the worst feeling of all but I'm glad I found a word to describe it), pressure-like headaches, palpitations, cognitive fog, trembling, and a savagely blunted memory.

For the past two months I have had feelings of intense pressure and tension in my head, particularly around my temples and eyes and especially while driving or talking; dizziness, occasional vertigo, and a general feeling of being "out of it" or disconnected (at times, though rarely, full-fledged dissociation). These are accompanied by general malaise and chills.

If used strictly on a PRN (as needed basis) you could take Xanax for the rest of your life and have no problems. But Xanax is best utilized on a short term basis, <4 months if used daily. For long term anxiety, which after 10 years we can all agree you have, a drug such as Klonopin is as effective as Xanax at controlling not only panic attacks but the anticipatory anxiety that usually comes with severe panic disorder. Best of all, it is prescribed for long term use, as in years.

My doc swithched from xanax to klonopin one .05 mg in the morning and 2 at night when anxiety is at its peak for me. he said that klonopin would be better it has a longer life than xanax? any input would be great!!

All I take for medicine id thyroid and Xanax I was taking Pegintron, Riboviarin and solvaldi also antibiotics for skin infections but it has been a long time since the antibiotics.

I understand that mixing Xanax and Alcohol can have serious negative effects. However, my question is mainly about Xanax, and in regard to how long it stays in the system to the point where it is dangerous to mix with alcohol. (i.e., is it dangerous to drink alcohol after 1 day of not taking Xanax?..2 days? etc). Another question, how serious are the long-term effects of drinking alcohol WITH xanax?

s lungs, a shot to stop labour, and 2 rounds of antibiotics. Oh and i also had a general anesthetic and abdominal xray during surgery at 21wks. I hate it but its all been prescribed by my dr and completey necessary to get my baby this far. I had a lot of it for the same complications with my first and its such controlled doses with regular monitoring, he's now a happy healthy 17mth old so I just keep my fingers crossed for this one.

How many hrs were between the dose of fluconazle and Xanax ? I feel like death and I took the fluconazle one pill at 8 am and it's now 11 pm and feel like total blahhh!!!

I have been on anti-depressants for a number of years so I live with depression and addiction - to xanax and anything else that is addictive. Yeah, I only took the xanax for 3 days but I took enough to have it alter my brain chemicals. Well it sounds like I need to ride it out and see if the depression lifts in a day or two or then get back to the Dr and readjust my anti-depressant. Spring is here so the extra sunlight helps. Sleep deprivation is a bummer. But as they say...

But it would depend on how much you were taking, how often you took it, and perhaps how susceptible you were. I have COPD and use Xanax only as needed and at the lowest dosage. It does not affect my breathing, and perhaps because of its calming effect may actually make me breathe more easiiy.

Is lexapro and xanax the same? If not, what is the difference and does the lexapro make you feel the same as xanax do??

My best friend takes Xanax and has asthma and she says it doesn't affect it. I would think it only would if you took too much or more than the recommended dosage.

t cause this so in Dec 2007 I had a liver function test and an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder. All tests were normal. I came off the xanax and 7 days later like magic my bowel color was brown. I told my doctor who still said xanax doesn't do that. I looked on google and could find no information about it either. I started to feel very sick and depressed and high anxiety a few weeks after not taking xanax so I started the .25mg of xanax a day.

Yes I'm Prescribed both. I was prescribed .25mg of xanax and ran out. So I was having a panic attack and took the ativan at 1mg.

Not sure about tylenol...my MD prescribed xanax and told me ibuprofen (motrin) was okay for pain.

Does any one here know if xanax xan slow your heart rate down? I take verapamil and inderal for pvc's etc. and xanax for anxiety. Yesterday i noticed my heart rate had slowed down and was wondering if the xanax i took may have had something to do with it.
