antibiotics

Avatar m tn I do not know what to do because If I cannot take any meds or antibiotics how will I ever overcomes this gum disease or any other for that matter?
Avatar m tn I have gum disease. Recently got a gum access around loose tooth . The dentist gave me antibiotics and said the tooth may stabilise. I have completed the course of antibiotics but swelling is still in my gum although the tooth feels a little firmer . Would more antibiotics help? I can't see my dentist for a while. Help please?
Avatar f tn Hi! Thanks for responding to my question. I've been on antibiotics and the oral rinse since Friday and most of my teeth have gotten back into place. Probably since the swelling has gone down a bit. I can now close my mouth and eat better, only my gap hasn't closed yet. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it will at least a little bit. Also, there's this product I saw online called, REJUV for gums...does anyone know if this product actually works???
Avatar n tn I had a gum infection about a month ago and the dentist put me on antibiotics and i took the full course. I thought that had got rid of the infection because i didn't have the vile taste in my mouth that i had. I worrying today because i can taste the taste i had when i had the infection. The other day i kissed and was intimate with a man and i thought it had cleared so i didn't worry about the infection that day.
Avatar n tn Infection sets in and you feel very ill all over. Abscesses and dental decay and gum disease are all bad for you. If you start taking care of the problems you will start feeling better.
Avatar n tn Go back to your dentist, have them take xrays, and clean around these teeth well. If there is gum disease, then it must be taken care of also.
Avatar f tn Then I found out this bad news that I need to see a periodontist for the rest of my life to monitor this disease. I need to go back to get a root cleaning and some antibiotics to get rid of it. She said I have naturally thin gums and the recession just happens for some people. I am just terrified I will lost my teeth I don’t want that to happen I’m too young for this and an aspiring nurse. How will I be a nurse when my dental health isn’t good?
Avatar m tn I recently had vaginal swabs taken which tested positive for Bacterial Vaginitis and Chlamydia!!! I took the relevant antibiotics (Zithromax 1g and a course of metronidalzole for a week). I finished these three and a half weeks ago. I should prob point out that my diagnosis was quite a surprise as I wasn't experiencing any symptoms. However, about a week ago I started to experience 'symptoms'! Mainly a heavy discharge and mild lower abdominal and back pain.
Avatar f tn Other causes of tooth abscess are trauma to the tooth, such as when it is broken or chipped, and gingivitis or gum disease. These problems can cause openings in the tooth enamel, which allows bacteria to infect the center of the tooth (called the pulp). The infection may also spread from the root of the tooth to the bones supporting the tooth.
Avatar n tn Antibiotic mouth rinses, gels and oral antibiotics may be helpful in mild cases. In severe cases flap surgery and bone and tissue grafts may be necessary. Gum disease is the main cause of gum recession. The exact treatment can be decided only by a periodontist.Seek an early appointment and get evaluated. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn I have had bleeding gums and gum disease for years. Im 28yrs old now. Each time i go to the dentist they tell me about best ways to clean and floss. I try my best but still never seems to go away. I have brought a very good new oral b electric toothbrush to ensure I clean to the best of my ability. I also floss. I have tried natural mouthwashes and toothpastes containing herbs like myrrh etc which are known to help keep gums healthy.
Avatar f tn hi, i have got really sore gums and it is painful to brush and eat. i have been to the dentist is there anything else i could do?
Avatar f tn Took my mother to the dentist finally since she had refused to go for several years and since shes been having problems with loose tooth and was a problem that needed to be addressed prior to spinal surgery. Dentist diagnosed her with severe gum disease that was causing bone loss and said most of the tooth has to be extracted eventually or they'll fall out. Cause may be cause of smoking (which she quit) or braces that she had at a late age.
Avatar n tn I have been told that I have gum disease and have been refered by my dentist. I also have suffered with chrones disease for the last 23years and was wondering if this could be a factor to gum disease. My teeth are in good condition and I only have 3 fillings. I am 39 years of age. Please could you advise.
7649778 tn?1401294601 My gums got really swollen and sensitive during my last pregnanct. its normal to have gum and teeth problems during pregnancy but still see your dentist. My dentist says some woman have even had teeth fall out during pregnancy. So I would suggest having normal dental check ups during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn cavities, fillings, more fillings, splitting teeth, root canals, infections, gum disease, root scaling, extractions, bridges, implants, etc, until dentures. And thats not the end... dental procedures cause aging trauma. A pulled tooth can result in numb toes and leg cramps, an overdose of anesthesia can last for two weeks and cause stomach problems or more. Root canals and dental infections can affect heart rate. Antibiotics can problem digestion.
Avatar m tn See a dentist, I have gum issues too always have, at 21 I had to have a scaling and antibiotics injected into my gum line because my gums are softer than they should be and tend to get infected easy.
Avatar f tn She sew the wound and prescribed me antibiotics. I have a strong immune system and usually feel very bad and weak after antibiotics, and seeing that i feel good after the extraction, with no pain at all i kept postponing taking the antibiotics prescribed. 12 hours from the extraction I continue to feel good: no signs of swallowed face, no pain (and i took no pain reliever), a portion of the gum near the wound started to turn white. Am I putting myself at risk?
Avatar m tn m male and I was the receiver. After the event, I learned that she has gum disease and it bleeds frequently. I don't know whether it was bleeding or not during the event. What is the risk of HIV transmission? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I have recently been tested for STD's after having unprotected oral sex. I'm a heterosexual female, and my partner is a male, if it helps in diagnosis. My partner and I have been together for a few months but only recently started doing anything sexual. I let him talk me into trying oral sex after he promised me that he was tested for STD's and everything came out negative. I have a lot of scary symptoms. The very first thing I noticed was pain in my lymph node.
Avatar f tn Hi, Sounds as though there might be a dental pocket there. Plaque gets down between the tooth and the gum and causes inflammation. The plaque needs to be removed daily. Do you floss correctly? If not, that is probably the single most important thing you can do to help get that plaque out from the pocket area. Try flossing at least once a day. I think it will help. Everything you mention sounds like plaque getting down into a pocket.
Avatar m tn Its possible that previous history of gum disease could have caused the recession and now the gum disease is no longer present but a dental cleaning is almost always advised on a routine basis to maintain healthy gums. A dental cleaning should remove any irritants and allow the gums to heal. If they're healthy already, there should be no problem.
3148906 tn?1343695795 Thank you Smiley2000 I had the tooth pulled but the oral surgeon did not pack it with antibiotics so now food is in the extraction site and my gum have swollen. Now I have to go back and they will flush it out then pack it. Let's see what happens next.
Avatar n tn Please advise how long term use (5 years) of anti-depressants and anti-psychotic meds like venlafaxine, olonzapine, zoloft, and prozac, even high stress, can create gum disease and jaw bone degeneration. Thanks. boxcar.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had a gum abcess that needed 3 courses of antibiotics. Finally the lower right molar was extracted as this was the origin of the infection. This was 4 days ago but the abcess is still there and I have some throbbing pain in the lower jaw and ear on that side. The extraction site has white spots beside it.
1542723 tn?1294447438 with dental problems or is there some link with the medication and or Heart Disease. How many others have had this problem?
Avatar f tn You may have gum disease (gingivitis) and the only thing that help will be to go to a dentist. They may do scaling, depending on what stage your gum infection is. Scaling helps a lot in the earlier stages. Results are pretty quick. See a dentist about your toothaches, your teeth may need to be removed, filled, etc., See a dentist before you get an abscess, which could cause earaches, headaches, toothache, and a bunch of other issues.
Avatar m tn just to add some more information I am being treated right now for the periodontal disease and the time of the incident I did not have any visible bleeding of the gums but I do have deep pockets (gaps in the gums) and deep gum recession for one of my tooth in the lower jaw. What are my risk of HIV after this incident?
Avatar f tn My question to the forum is do I do the flap which will cost around the 3000 and get a healthy gum and keep my teeth - or get a full denture and although have false teeth will also provide a healthy gum but a decent smile as well. Any advise would be welcome and any insight about why I should do any dentures is welcome as that is definitely sounding like the best option at this point.
