after using any anti dandruff shampoo like clinic plus, head & shoulder my head ache starts. why?
i use other shampoo also but only anti dandruff starts my head ache. i want to know which chemical affecting me?
I myself have had the same sort of thing lucky you had no burning it does sound like seborrhiec dermatitis using an anti dandruff shampoo such as nizorelle (costs about £5.00) contains ketocozanle which acts as an anti fungal ingredient and can also be used as a body wash (so my doc informs me) in the dry hair only formulation it uses collagen to nourish and repair the hair shaft as well as improving overall condition.
It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).
Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
I recently shaved my head, I do this once every two months and I notice some round red patches that were not there before. They are completely flat, I had no hair loss in the areas and they are not itchy at all. The patches began hurting after I shaved my head. I am thinking tinea capitis but that's just a guess. The only flaking I had was general dandruff I've always had and treated with anti dandruff shampoo, this red spot is new.
I thought it was because of hot summer days but not quiet. I had dandruffs so I have been using anti dandruff shampoo which helped but the itch would not go away. I washed my hair and next thing I know it itchs. I cut my hair shorter. I went to demotalogist and was given a medicated shampoo which was too strong for me so I stop using it. I saw this tea tree oil and pine oild anti dandruff shampoo and use it but still itch. I dont know what shampoo to use anymore.
The flaky skin that you have coming down and falling on to your clothes, like Jessjess2014 says is called dandruff.
This can sometimes be caused by a fungal infection on the head. To treat this you would need a shampoo that also has antifungal properties. Your doctor would be able to prescribe a specific shampoo for you. Or you can purchase from the pharmacy, without a prescription, a shampoo that will treat the dandruff and any fungal infection that is causing it.
With regards to your dandruff, daily washing with an antidandruff shampoo may help decrease oil and cell buildup. There are plenty of dandruff shampoo available in the market today. Not all dandruff shampoos are alike, so you may need to experiment with them to find the one that works best for you. When shampooing, it is important to rinse well. If it still persists, stronger prescription shampoos may be indicated.

I also wear a showercap on some days as too not wet my hair as I heard that is good for clearing the dandruff. Nothing has worked. I have used many different anti-dandruff shampoo with no luck. My scalp is itchy and feels EXTREMELY dry but at the same time if I run fingers through my hair it feels oily. I have noticed that I have red pimples on my scalp too. They have no pus or anything like that just a red bump and when I scratch on it some skin peels off.

And when the bottle says lather rinse repeat actually repeat. Lol. For dry scalp dandruff you canuse mayo on your hair coat scalp and hhair leave on for 15 min rinse off. Or 3tbsp olive oil one egg and I think it was a tbsp of vinegar and put that on your hair leave on for 15 and rinse. These are easy recipes you can find online.
In all probability you have a patch of dry scalp due to dandruff. Apply coconut oil twice a week and wash hair with anti-dandruff shampoo. For the last rinse, squeeze a lemon in a mug of water and rinse hair with that. If symptoms persist, consult a skin specialist.

hello, thanks for the explanation and advice.I found a solution to my problem, and i was the shampoo that i was using. Right now im using himalaya's anti dandruff shampoo and it works. No more greasy hair. Thank you so much and i appreciate the explanation you provided, it helped a lot.
Have you tried any anti - dandruff shampoo for a start? It sounds more complicated than dandruff but it shouldnt harm your current condition. The presence of puss could refer to folliculitis. Start with a common shampoo like head & shoulders to see if it gets any better although i would suggest you to visit a dermatologist.
I tried a dandruff shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione, but this time I rubbed the shampoo directly on the spots instead of just the foam. My ears and groin are still red but the scales and scabs are virtually gone in less than 10 days and I only itch when the skin is wet (sweat or post-shower).
