Avatar f tn I believe if drug companies really wanted to make some big bucks, and they ALL do, the baby boomers for next 30 years will make them very, very rich treating a massive number of aging baby boomers for osteoarthritis?
Avatar n tn I suggest the use of products that are hypoallergenic and also with organic ingredients such as vitamin C and E. Anti aging products may also be beneficial especially for women with fine lines and wrinkles. A healthy diet, decrease intake of fatty food, cessation of smoking, adequate sleep and daily exercise will ensure not just great skin but also a healthy body in general.
Avatar m tn There are now a lot of us aging Baby Boomers around willing to pay "whatever it takes" for multifocal IOLs (which provide crisp vision without debilitating side effects) and effective treatments for dry eyes and floaters. This should stimulate research funded by manufacturers, who are in business to make a profit. Dm354, why don't you call the doctor you saw and ask for more info about that new medication?

1064785 tn?1406638398 I do not know if there is anything specifically geared towards pregnancy- I am sure there is. I like the 'skin deep' section on the environemental working groups page. Please know it is kind of overly-cautious, but at least you can see why somethings are worse for you than others and what the ingredients are that shoud be avoided. Hope this helps! Congrats on your tww! Stick and grow baby!
Avatar m tn While anyone can contract hep C if they’re exposed to the virus, some people are at higher risk than others. It may be surprising to learn that “baby boomers,” Americans born between 1945 and 1965, are five times more likely than others to have hep C. This is likely because boomers may have been exposed to the virus through contaminated blood, organs or blood products before universal screening for hep C was put in place.
Avatar f tn In fact, more than 75 percent of American adults with hepatitis C are baby boomers. Many baby boomers were infected with hepatitis C when they were in their teens and twenties. Some may have become infected through blood transfusions or other health care exposures before universal precautions and widespread blood screening began in 1992. Others may have become infected from experimentation with drug use, even if only once decades ago.

1815939 tn?1377991799 t know if I am posting in the correct place but this is a pretty good article concerning testing all Baby Boomers for Hep C. And, finally, this article states several routes of transmission, not just the stereotypes. In addition, starting tomorrow, the proposal will be on a website and people (including us) can comment on it and offer opinions. http://vitals.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/22/11796936-boomers-wonder-why-test-me-for-hep-c?
1481901 tn?1287727244 I heard somewhere to avoif anything that is anti aging (in regards to moisturizer and facial wash).
4254325 tn?1355663975 I bet we will have another baby boom nine months from today/tomorrow. Apocalypse baby boom lol!!!
Avatar m tn Constituting a majority of documented Hepatitis C infections, a recent study has found that this generation is less likely to triumph over Hepatitis C than younger generations. Despite the scientific data that implies an uphill battle for baby boomers with Hepatitis C, most experts believe that there are ways to achieve a positive outcome.
5333703 tn?1366564561 You must take 10-12 grams 30 minutes prior to falling asleep to get this release of HGH as an anti-aging effect. For an athletic effect, take your supplement prior to exercise. Do not use high glycemic sports drinks such as Gatorade because it will interfere with absorption and will waste your money. Studies have shown that large doses of arginine may cause some cancers to replicate faster. However, the doses were from 30 to 50 grams and were given intravenously.
Avatar f tn The federal government Friday called for all baby boomers to be tested for hepatitis C, which kills more Americans each year than AIDS and is the leading reason for liver transplants. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made the recommendation to find hundreds of thousands of people who have the infection, which greatly increases their chances of developing cirrhosis and liver cancer, but don’t know it. 24 Comments Weigh In Corrections? Avatar f tn The easy thing to do would be have you family Dr order a HepCAnti-Body blood draw on the next annual physical. That should be done by baby boomers (and older) at least once, anyway, according to the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease. This is a very inexpensive test. If the anti-body test comes back negative, everthing is fine and you can just forget about it. The body, once exposed to HepC will always have anti-bodies.
