Common Questions and Answers about Anti aging products acne prone skin

Avatar n tn Currently manufacturers of skin products have been trying to provide a wide array of skin care products to suit each skin type. For an individual to get the best skin care, one should follow a particular regimen of cleansing, toning , exfoliating and moisturizing. As one grows older however, exfoliation may damage the thinning skin. Cleansing and moisturizing are still essential as one ages. The use of sunscreen for the face is still a must.

Avatar n tn If it contains benzoyl peroxide this may be contributing to his sensitized skin. Whilst using these products i would recommend also using Lutsine hydrafnia cleanser and moisturizer. They are especially made for spot-prone skin which has become irritated due to acne therapy. Look online for delivery or stockists in your area. How old is your son? 1064785 tn?1406638398 I do not know if there is anything specifically geared towards pregnancy- I am sure there is. I like the 'skin deep' section on the environemental working groups page. Please know it is kind of overly-cautious, but at least you can see why somethings are worse for you than others and what the ingredients are that shoud be avoided. Hope this helps! Congrats on your tww! Stick and grow baby!

Avatar m tn t work because it bothers your sensitive skin, then you want to go with something a lot gentler. Natural health stores sell great products for even the most sensitive acne prone skin. One brand I recommend, and I recommend buying it from a discount place, since it's a little on the expensive side, is called Weleda, which is a German company. The boxes and containers are pink, so they do stand out. The one I use when I need something extra gentle is called Almond Cleansing Lotion.
Avatar f tn since I have sensitive skin I cannot use the anti-acne drugstore products. Shall I continue to wash my face with water containing dead seasalt or is the salt too harsh for sensitive skin?

Avatar f tn I have been recently using Clearasil Ultra acne products, but only on my face and have started using Ambi scar fading cream. I dont know if those are the causes or not. Avatar m tn Thing is, i know that I will need to keep applying it on a regular basis or else my acne prone skin breaks out sooner or later. The key is to find a regimen that works for you to keep acne at bay, instead of treating it when it appears and then letting it go and then breaking out again-only to repeat the cycle. Drinking lots of water does help a lot too. I also go for steam cleansing once in a while to clean my pores. Another thing that works beautifully for me are chemical peels.
Avatar n tn Hi, You may have oily skin on the buttocks which makes it acne-prone. Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S), coomon in adolescence. Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne.
Avatar f tn Have you tried acne fighting products ? I recommend the Clean and Clear newest 3step acne cleanser. Or if OTC medication hasn't worked for you, visit a Dermatologist to see your options about medications and creams to help fight the out breaks and the boils.
Avatar n tn If you do this on dry skin, all you get is greasy dry skin. Fragrance free products are less likely to irritate the skin. Also, things with dimethicone can help protect and soothe the skin a little more. Eucerin (or its generic) might be a good place to start looking. For the itching, you can get some hydrocortisone cream and apply that (don't over-apply it though, too much can cause skin thinning).
Avatar f tn Genetic factors perhaps determine the failure of acne-prone follicles to become in to into acne-resistant follicles in early adult life. In-fact it may be thyroid auto-immunity that needs to be tested, and might have a bearing in adult acne. Regards.
Avatar f tn Continue with the Yaz. This is a good pill for acne-prone skin as it is not based on testosterone like some others. It will take about 3 months until it's effect is visible. An excellent product is Rosaliac micellar gel by La Roche-Posay which is for skin prone to redness. Metrogel is quite strong. It is normal to have an initial outbreak but if your skin does not start to improve or you feel you are having a bad reaction, speek to your doctor about changing products.
