Common Questions and Answers about Anti aging lotion retinol

anti-aging

Avatar f tn I’ve been using prescription strength differin gel for acne for many years, and would like to add a retinol moisturizer to my skincare routine for anti-aging benefits. Would like to know if the combination is safe?
Avatar n tn My mom which is 86 has used retinol on her face and she has a very bad painful rash all over. And a bloody mouth. What should she do?
Avatar n tn I have just read that you are not supposed to use any product with retinol palmitate while pregnant. I am 20 weeks along and just looked at my facial lotion..yup retinol palmitate...
Avatar f tn Natural vitamin E is proven to reverse the effects of skin aging. It is an excellent example of a natural antioxidant which is present in a lot of different face and body creams. Another is Vitamin A, or retinol. This is known for its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin fibres. These vitamins are available in a lot of dietary products and also can be taken as supplements. Dehydration can cause the skin to look like it's sagging and loose, hence drink lots of water.
Avatar n tn Apply cool tea bags, an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth, or cucumber slices to your eyes daily. Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, take vitamins, and drink plenty of water. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
1064785 tn?1406638398 I do not know if there is anything specifically geared towards pregnancy- I am sure there is. I like the 'skin deep' section on the environemental working groups page. Please know it is kind of overly-cautious, but at least you can see why somethings are worse for you than others and what the ingredients are that shoud be avoided. Hope this helps! Congrats on your tww! Stick and grow baby!
Avatar f tn It seems to be as strong as this accutane/isotrenoin - given what I have read up on it, which I suspect is a derivative of retinol. Again retinol should be banned!!!
Avatar f tn After the first night I noticed that I had visible pores on my cheeks where I had none before and I was worried it was from the retinol I so tried to find info on the net about retinol but almost everything I read claimed retinol made pores smaller so I thought perhaps it was just a strange phase and used the retinol a second night. The next morning I had even more visible pores and they were even larger. I haven't used the cream for 2 days now and will not be using it again.
Avatar n tn I recently began going for facials and my aesthetician told me to stop using my retinol products, as she said it ages and thins the skin. She recommends glycolic peels instead. This is contrary to everything I've heard. I thought retinol thickened the skin and stimulated collagen growth, and glycolic peels thinned the skin. Am I mistaken?
948202 tn?1245941816 I have not had any breakous for about 2 months since using clindamycin during the day, and sulfacetamide at night. I just recently added the retin-a becasue i wanted some anti-aging benefit. Also, i would like to add an antioxidant serum to my skin since i live in florida and want to protect my skin from UV etc.Do you recommend anything that wont break me out. When would i apply it before or after clindamycin? I use blue lizard face suncream as my spf.
Avatar f tn I just want to thank you for taking the time to respond to my "Horrible Hives on Face" post. I also thought a follow-up comment may be helpful to others with a similar problem. After a week of misery with the hives covering my face, I finally got some relief by seeing an allergist who prescribed prednisone (oral steroid) which he said was stronger than the medrol pack, along with a prescription hydrocortisone cream to be used 2x day.
1481901 tn?1287727244 I heard somewhere to avoif anything that is anti aging (in regards to moisturizer and facial wash).
Avatar n tn I am in my late 30's and have been using retinol for my face for years now and i find it really effective. I was wondering if i can use it under my eyes as well. The skin under my eyes have fine lines, and looks dull and dry. if not, what can you recommend I could use to make it more youthful looking? Thank you.
Avatar f tn What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
Avatar f tn It's actually only a particular form of vitamin A called retinol. The vitamin A in most foods is perfectly safe, as it has to go through a LONG metabolic process before it reaches retinol, which is the final product, and can be somewhat toxic in high amounts to your fetus. The only big food source of retinol is liver, so just don't eat too much liver during pregnancy and you'll be fine.
Avatar f tn (i used it as a day and night cream, so twice a day but i dont know the dosage of retinol in it)
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted a question a while back about retinol. I am a 53 year old female former smoker. I wanted to ask about etinol again, because I am very interested to know whether anyone has used a good strength OTC retinol product like Vichy, Boots or Green Cream (or prescription treitonin, Retin-A). Have you seen good results, specifically whether it may have helped with smoking wrinkles and sun damage. I know that you cannot get rid of wrinkles from smoking.
Avatar f tn They are well hydrated and will not end up all wrinkled and aging. Avoid direct and long exposure to sunlight. Too much exposure to the sun can cause skin aging. When you are exposed to the sun’s UV rays, make sure you applied liberal amounts of sunscreen to your face and neck. Make sure that you moisturise your face and rinse with water to get rid of any dead skin cells to get that all over glow to your face.
Avatar f tn It could be a type of eczema. Thats what usually appears on my middle finger before it turns into a dry flakey rash. Mine usually flares up if i over wash my hands, especially with hot water. Try a natural lotion or aveeno eczema, anything that has very little to no alcohol in it. What i've been using lately is just organic virgin coconut oil. it's only cleared up about 50% because i'm usually too busy to put it on.
Avatar f tn Well, on my inner things, near my vaginal area, I have dark spots, and also a few bumps. I am 14, so I know it's not aging or anything further. I have my period regularly. I have big things and rub together.. Could that be the cause? I've had these spots since I was about 7 but they weren't as worse as they are right now. What should I do? Should I go see a dermatologist? My doctor says there's nothing can do, she says I need to just.. Put on lotion but I do.. So what can I do?
Avatar f tn Go to ulta and talk to their estheticians for a professional recommendation. While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
492921 tn?1321289896 Welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy. I have it too. Had it with my last one as well...also with the previous 2 but not as bad. It drives me nuts. I get these itchy bumps on my stomach and back that itch like crazy and then my arms and legs are so dry it drives me nuts. My boobs (esp. the nipples) have been really itchy as well. My back is the worst because it mostly itches where I can't reach it, figures, eh? I use cocoa butter body wash and lotion, doesn't help much.
Avatar m tn I use a wide range of products daily for skincare, for reference. These include, Niacinamide + Zinc serum, Retinol Serum, Vitimin C serum and I derma roll once a week. Attached is a picture of my face for reference, Please help! https://imgur.
