Avatar n tn Well when you reach my age you will be like me, old. I was 32 once you know!!! You cannot stop the aging process. We would all like to feel as we did when we were younger, of course. No depression, no arthritis, no wrinkles. But hey, as I said that is life. Don't insult us older people please. Yes I do think it sounds rude. Do you think there is no purpose in living once we get older? Should we all be put down at 50???? Please be sensible and accept that we all age.

Try somethings that are served cold and not hot or warm, like chicken and tuna salads served on crackers or bread, raw veggies not cooked, cold hard boiled eggs not fried, cold pizza, salads and anything else you can think of that's not always cooked.

Human grade chicken, fatty meats like lamb, beef and pork (unless there is any pancreatitis present), green tripe, tinned Mackeral in water (rinsed to remove any salt and oil), sticky white rice, tapioca, barley, sweet potato and green beans are all good kd foods. The Hills kd canned is equally good - try adding a teaspoon of organic natural honey on the top to entice your dog into eating it if necessary.

Avatar n tn Could Metformin cause thinning or hair loss? I started two Metformin 500 mg a day last May. Went on a locarb, no processed foods or alcohol diet. Lost 30#'s. End of August, switched to one Metformin ER 500 mg a day cause my A1C went from 7.4 down to 5.2 in 3 1/2 months. I have thought of a vitamin or iron deficiency, but I eat a lot of healthy foods and haven't lost weight beyond the 30#'S I lost last summer. I read that some people on here think Victoza caused their hair loss.

Avatar f tn Having frequent small meals and avoiding spicy and oily foods will help. Drink plenty of water and juices in order to prevent dehydration. Also use of antacids and anti-emetic drugs will help take care of the nausea and belly pain. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.

Given your risk factors, I'd try the baking soda test, but I'd depend on a lab test to determine the acidity level of your esophagus. If you have insurance, I'd also ask for the acid test and also ask for a motility test to determine how well you can swallow foods.

I just try not to eat too much meat and try to limit my beef to once a week if necessary at all. If you want to stay away from meat period, you can still follow paleo, just might be a little limited.

Avatar n tn Calories, while a part of it, isn't the main factor in weight. How well and how quickly you metabolize what you eat and how much activity you engage in are more important. Counting calories doesn't really do you much good in the long-term if those calories are, say, in the form of foods that metabolize quickly into sugar -- if not burned off quickly they will store as fat.
