Avatar m tn Well I am in the 2nd week of taking Zinc, ran our Zinc Sulfate after first week, now taking Zinc Gluconate, the Zinc is what matters right? I am taking Multivitamin pills also, planning to add some Green tea capsules as well, I rather take those than bother making the tea all the time. How many MG of Zinc Sulfate do you take?
Avatar m tn The major sign of zinc deficiency is affected taste. The zinc taste test is recommended. I have had this done for free at my local pharmacy showing i had zinc deficiency. You can also purchase zinc sulfate to try at home. I can't say for sure what all my zinc deficiency symptoms were as i has other severe deficiency states and medical conditions concurrently.

Avatar m tn I am in pain management and have been for years. I am on 400 mgs of morphine sulfate every 6 hrs and 15 mgs of Hydromirphone as needed for break through pain which is about 4 to 5 a day. My taper has been a fast one. I went from 400 mgs of MS a day to 200 for a week and now two days ago 60 mgs in the morning ONLY and taking the Hydromorphone every 4 hours. Is MS the same as the Hydromorphone? From what I read it is, one is long acting and the other is short.
Avatar m tn 4103/2589-0557.112867. It looks at using various grades of topical zinc sulfate cream to treat (NOT CURE) G-HSV2. Unless these people lied or somehow were nefarious in their study what they found, to me, is pretty great. It didn't work for everyone, their pool of people was very small, and it's probably hard to transfer their findings into a home remedy/practice. However, I think it offers yet another tool to help those find a way to treat or deal with their HS.
Avatar m tn Different salt forms provide different amounts of elemental zinc. Zinc sulfate contains 23% elemental zinc; 220 mg zinc sulfate contains 50 mg zinc. Zinc gluconate contains 14.3% elemental zinc; 10 mg zinc gluconate contains 1.43 mg zinc." http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/982.html I am going out to buy some today zinc gluconate today, lol.
Avatar f tn I used Hydrocortisone cream and Antibiotic Ointment containing Polymyxin B Sulfate, Bacitracin Zinc, and Neomycin Sulfate about 4 times a day. It disappeared and hasn't bothered me since. In may I started getting tiny bumps on my forearm. I believed my robe after a shower would irriatate my skin. I did the same thing combining the two ointments. It went away. I've recently gotten an irritation on both my breasts. (The inner part where they may rub if i'm wearing a push-up bra.
1475202 tn?1536270977 Also a couple of days ago due to my ammonia level being high (68) I took a zinc sulfate 220mg prescibed by my specialist to help with the ammonia. In less than a hour I was experiencing the worst pain I ever had. It was in my entire abdominal area and all the way across my lower back. Finally I tried a warm bath and it took the pain away. My specialist even called in some pain pills for me called Dicyclomine 20mg. which also helped relieve the pain.
Avatar n tn Albumin substitution was found to decrease muscle cramps (2). In an uncontrolled study, zinc sulfate 220 mg/d improved cramps in 10/12 patients; in 7 they disappeared completely (6). Vitamin E has been used (5) as well as antispasmodics (4). Although used frequently, magnesium was not useful in a double-blind crossover trial in patients with nocturnal leg cramps not related to liver disease (3). Good luck and hang in there.
Avatar m tn My daughter is 13 and has a large number of warts on her hands. Our doctor has done blood tests and diagnosed a zinc deficiency, for which she has prescribed Solvazinc effervescent tablets. My daughter absolutely hates the taste of them. I've read the info leaflet, and it says each tablet contains 125mg of zinc sulfate monohydrate which is equivalent to 45mg of elemental zinc. I've investigated over the counter zinc supplements.
Avatar f tn He said it could be a zinc deficiency that caused the formation of plaques. So he prescribed her zinc sulfate 30 mg/day and vitamin D 10,000 iu/day. He also asked her to do more blood tests. My questions are: - Can zinc deficiency cause plaques in the brain and cerebellum? After googling, it seems that zinc deficiency affects the brain and plays a major role in motor control. Do you have any information on zinc and its impact on MS?
Avatar f tn In one of these studies, 54 people were given either placebo or 135 mg of zinc as zinc sulfate daily. Zinc produced slight but measurable benefits. Similar results have been seen in other studies using 90 to 135 mg of zinc daily, although others failed to find that zinc helped. Relatively weak evidence suggests that a lower and safer dose, 30 mg daily, may also be helpful.
Avatar n tn Dilute rubbing alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide and do a wash with that (pat dry). You could try some topical zinc sulfate cream (a bit messy unless you are shaved). Or you could try to change up your diet and see if that helps (i.e. try some apple cider vinegar drinks, take coconut oil, plenty of fresh veggies, etc.
Avatar m tn I notice that the loss is more frequent after my use of a facial cleanser with SLES (sodium laureth sulfate) in it. I realized that my shampoos have this or SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) in it as well. Could they be a cause to my hair loss? When I use the cleanser I pay special attention to avoid my eye area. I also have been stressed due to some school situations. I don Not find the urge to pick my hairs or rub though.. or even itch. i usually get just back pain.
Avatar f tn Could be some type of yeast infection? Look into zinc sulfate cream. In an Indian study it was used to treat HSV2 and cleared symptoms and I have know others to try it for other genital related skin issues. Do your own homework and come to your own conclusion.
Avatar f tn I swear by zinc lozenges on the first onset of a sore throat. I'm only 5 Weeks pregnant and wouldn't you know it, I have the start of a sore throat. anyone know if it's ok to take the lozenges? I know, I know, I need to ask my OB but I don't even have one in place yet since I'm so early on.
Avatar m tn The only relief I get is from OTC triple antibiotic from Walgreen, a Neosporin equivalent. The active ingredients are Bacitracin Zinc, Neomycin Sulfate, and Polymyxin B sulfate. If I apply this for about 3 days, once a day, I can stave off the balanitis for about a week, then the symptoms would slowly relapse, beginning with the presence of smegma, then the the redness and itchiness, and the transverse lesions at the base of the penile glans at the crease.

Are any of these ingredients known to cause any issues or possible birth defects if used in very small quantities? Thanks a ton for helping us to find the answer to this question!
