5061022 tn?1363018223 I have recently removed myself from my fitness pal and tumblr because it is an ED breading ground! It is where I would go to get tips and encouragement. I am trying to get away from doing it as I have had it under control for the past year and it was recently triggered again in January. I have been dealing with it since the 8th grade and I am now a college junior....its a constant battle and I hate it....I am trying so hard right now to fight losing weight the right way....

6811971 tn?1385557755 This is not a question, just a few tips for those who are on the road to recovering from an eating disorder. Just a little background on me: I suffered from Anorexia for six years of my life and have been recovered for twelve years now. For me, I experienced some gas and bloating. This can be quite stressful as it makes one feel full and gaining weight. I found that mixing some natural ginger in a tea or water helped. Also, digestion was a little slow for me.
Avatar n tn I've been trying to find out how long someone can live with anorexia/bulimia, but can't find anything. I guess it really depends on the individual, but there's not even a range given. Any ideas? A little background: I've had anorexia for 14 years and bulimia for 2. I've been very fortunate in not having any serious medical complications, however in the last 3 years my eating disorder has become my entire life.
Avatar n tn If you are not in treatment for your anorexia, take a moment to visit our website for information on anorexia and treatment ideas. Regards, Dr.
Avatar f tn Hey pixie0304. My son is 16 and has this issue. NOT anorexia. :>) I took my son to a nutritionist. Some tips: make it count when you do eat. So, go for a bang. If you are only going to take a few bites, try a protein bar. If you are going to drink, try almond milk. My son has been doing this in the morning. It upped his calories and he feels better. The other thing the nutritionist said is that drinking nutrition and calories can be easier for some.
Avatar n tn I am going through a recovering period from anorexia. I am currently talking to a psichologist, and im taking medication, which he prescribed me due to my depression. My feet edemas are very uncomfortable and I also suffer from bloating after eating. Id like to know anything that could help with my condition, especially any advice regarding my feet edemas and solutions to diminish them. thank you very much. Silvia.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.
483818 tn?1232684772 I dont know if this is anorexia or not... In a week I will starve myself for 4 days, binge for 2 and eat normal for maybe 1... It goes thru stages, I will eat normal then starve, then binge, then starve... Sometimes I will go without food for a couple of days, and other times i just eat and eat and eat... I do worry about my weight a lot, and when i do groceries, i look how much fat is in things, and buy low fat and fat free everything...
Avatar f tn A few ideas which I will get back to you on. But 14 is a tough age for young ladies. Is it possible the anxiety is driving the eating problem? ( and yes stim meds can be a factor). More importantly what does she think about the weight loss. Is she open to supplements like protein drinks, etc.?
Avatar n tn Welcome to the dog forum, there are very informative people here w/great suggestions, advice, ideas, check in from time to time to see your replies.. I would advise to get into vet...if sudden coughing becomes apparent...then maybe hes chewed something and its caught, kennel cough air bourne...if hes been around other dogs or in would seems something is not right and that you probably already know...

1017480 tn?1303107824 I am 26 years old, 5'4", and 90pounds. I have suffered from Anorexia and Bulimia for the past 5 years. I recently have been experiencing severe weeping edema all over my body. My doctor has done blood tests showing everything is normal and a heart ultra sound also showing to be normal. No idea what is going on... any ideas?
Avatar f tn Is this becoming an obsessive habit? Impulsive, even? If so, what should I do? The tips of my fingers are really calloused and pink now, and my fingerprint is a most nonexistent. Therapy isn't an option, just FYI. Also, I did go through a spell of anorexia if that helps you at all. Thank you for reading, and I'm looking forward to your advice ^.

Avatar m tn If I were you, and of course I'm not, I'd do a complete work up with a good internist...based on any data from the testing, I'd go see some specialist(s) to rule out things, or try to get to the bottom of it. I know depression can cause lack of hunger, but you didn't mention anything like that. Good luck.
785277 tn?1244324809 m not going to be looking at any professional help anytime soon. Anyone have any tips on sticking to one routine? I know both anorexia and bulimia are bad independently, but having both of them together has got to be worse on the body, right?
