anorexia

5061022 tn?1363018223 I have recently removed myself from my fitness pal and tumblr because it is an ED breading ground! It is where I would go to get tips and encouragement. I am trying to get away from doing it as I have had it under control for the past year and it was recently triggered again in January. I have been dealing with it since the 8th grade and I am now a college junior....its a constant battle and I hate it....I am trying so hard right now to fight losing weight the right way....
Avatar f tn Hey pixie0304. My son is 16 and has this issue. NOT anorexia. :>) I took my son to a nutritionist. Some tips: make it count when you do eat. So, go for a bang. If you are only going to take a few bites, try a protein bar. If you are going to drink, try almond milk. My son has been doing this in the morning. It upped his calories and he feels better. The other thing the nutritionist said is that drinking nutrition and calories can be easier for some.

Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
6811971 tn?1385557755 This is not a question, just a few tips for those who are on the road to recovering from an eating disorder. Just a little background on me: I suffered from Anorexia for six years of my life and have been recovered for twelve years now. For me, I experienced some gas and bloating. This can be quite stressful as it makes one feel full and gaining weight. I found that mixing some natural ginger in a tea or water helped. Also, digestion was a little slow for me.
Avatar n tn Well anorexia cannot directly cause knee pain. However, anorexia can cause nutritional deficiency including calcium, iron, B12 etc. This can cause bone and joint pains. However, if only a single knee is paining, then chances of a localized cause like arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, meniscal injury, etc have to be ruled out. Take care!
Avatar f tn Proper nutrition is the goal in treating Anorexia. Food is medicine. To learn more about anorexia and treatment options, visit the bella vita website.

My feet edemas are very uncomfortable and I also suffer from bloating after eating. Avatar m tn //www.webmd.com/mental-health/eating-disorders/anorexia-nervosa/mental-health-anorexia-nervosa#1. Diagnosis of eating disorders requires you to step outside of it and ask for help. The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
Avatar f tn I am developing anorexia, but I don't feel bad for it at all. I don't feel compelled to get help, etc. I don't feel like I'm good enough for people to care. I've recently dropped 13 pounds in two weeks. I don't think I deserve food either, so why bother getting help for something I don't deserve?
Avatar f tn So I had anorexia in many years but recovered in early 2014. Ever since then i've tried to loose weight hardly but don't seem to loose more then 3 kgs maximum. It disturbs me, cuz no matter how hard i try i dont seem to loose weight, i stay The same. I really wanna loose some more cuz im not comfortable in this body at all. So got an tips? ? Would appreciate lot help...
Avatar m tn ll ask you this- before you lost weight, were you depressed, abused, or have any mental illnesses (personality disorders etc)? Because what anorexia s essentially is a coping mechanism. People who suffer with mental illness or who've had lots of trauma use it as a way to feel better or numb it out or even so they're "good at at least something", stuff like that. If you just lost control over your diet then that's more "diet gone wrong".
639751 tn?1223570892 If I was hungry, I would avoid any place with food. Anorexia made me miss my 8th grade year, and much of Highschool. Anorexia got me sick again in college, so that I didnt have enough energy to finish. Anorexia eroded away at my brain in the end, and I ended up in a coma, with little to no rational thoughts for months prior. I would hide food and not eat it, or throw food away after having two bites and cover it in soap in case my ravenous hunger got to be the best of me.
Avatar f tn I want to be 100 lbs. I still have regular cycles and this has been going on and off for a few months. Do I have anorexia or EDNOS?
Avatar f tn Is this becoming an obsessive habit? Impulsive, even? If so, what should I do? The tips of my fingers are really calloused and pink now, and my fingerprint is a most nonexistent. Therapy isn't an option, just FYI. Also, I did go through a spell of anorexia if that helps you at all. Thank you for reading, and I'm looking forward to your advice ^.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.
Avatar f tn How many times do you have to puke yourself to be considered bulimic? Does anorexia or bulimia cause hair loss? And is there any possible way that any of this could cause my hands to shake?
