554703 tn?1227497870 I never had an eating disorder per say, but years ago during a hard time with my Ex-husband, I didn't eat much and when I did, I only ate things like rice and ham. I lost 39 pounds in 5 weeks and woke up one morning with my heart beating all over the place and was rushed to the ER. Long story short, I was told I was close to joining Karen Carpenter. Karen died from "heartbeat irregularities brought on by chemical (electrolyte) imbalances associated with anorexia nervosa.
Avatar f tn Now, I do not think your daughter has breast cancer, but her symptoms are sure troubling and could be from more serious underlying disease. Even the seizures could be symptomatic of other underlying disease. I am thinking what I would do in your situation and all I can think of is to call the pediatricians' office and ask them for an earlier appointment, or put you on the list in case they have a cancellation.
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.
Avatar f tn Hi, I don't expect a diagnosis, but a little bit of insight would be lovely. I'm 18 (just turned it a few days ago), I walk at least 2 miles a day 5 days a week, and used to be extremely athletic and I have a very good BMI. I'm anemic and have anxiety and anxiety attack issues, have an eating problem, and acid reflux. As of recently, I've become fatigued and sleep an hour or two during the day and 6 hours at night.
918035 tn?1274644533 Yes, dear, I do think you are still suffering from anorexia, and I think you probably realize it yourself. Anorexia is a hard disease to recover from, but yes, it is definitely possible!
