Avatar f tn It is common to encounter the emotional, psychological, and medical consequences of this disorder even after a long period of stabilization. The toll anorexia takes on one’s body can be immense. It is an integral part of recovery to stay closely connected to your physician and have regular check ups. It would also be important to inform your doctor of your previous history with anorexia as this may alter his/her evaluation and/or recommendations.
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. But anorexia takes over when im stressed, anxious or depressed. I dont think I have had a day without at least one of those ha. Anyway. My blood results came back fine on my muscles. Which is great. Im still worried about my heart rate. It is still high. Resting rate 110-113bpm. When I stand up it is 120-127bpm.

18663 tn?1198171815 The signs you are reporting are all possible symptoms of anorexia such as, rapid weight loss, intense fear of getting fat, being less than 85% of ideal body weight; distorted body image, restrictive eating, possible purging (through vomiting, laxatives, diuretics, excessive exercise).
Avatar n tn I donot know anything about anorexia but I do know about OCD. I also know Lexapro works well for me. Our body is made up of vitams and minerals along with all else. The brain has many chemicals. Loss of certain chemicals can be replaced by mood stabilizers or SSRI's which are used to replace serotonin. I am not a doctor but my OCD symptoms have lessened, almost nonexsistent by the use of antiphyscotic drugs to correct the chemical imbalance I have.
Avatar f tn and im sure your pretty jast the way you are, but if you dont believe that...buety still loved the beast. =D but mainly if your worried about your body, look at those this super models with their bones sticking out, MAYBE go on a health diet, so that you know the food going in your body is good and do lots of exercise so it will turn into muscle. let me know how you go ok.
Avatar f tn t happen over night and doing it right will keep it off longer... With anorexia the second you start to eat your body holds in everything including the fat because it knows you will starve it again. Also when you stop eating your body will start to eat itself (including your muscles). You can do this hun... keep it up and persevere.
Avatar m tn My body fat went from around 15 % to under 8 % after taking accutane. I am extremely thin now and cannot put on weight on no matter how much I eat or what I eat. For example I can eat a whole tub of ice-cream and has no affect on my body. I have read about others have this issue also. Isotretinoin (accutane) obviously messed up something in my body so that it doesn't metabolize or absorb food the way it did pre-accutane. If anyone has any knowledge in this area plz respond. ty.
Avatar n tn The only reason anyone should have the right to comment is if they are worried about your health, such as if you have anorexia or an obesity problem that a doctor has told you is serious. There is a partner out there for everyone, you will find someone.
179856 tn?1333547362 t know anything about Portia. I had no idea she suffered from anorexia nervosa. I assumed she had anorexia - eating disorder from any cause - and that is why I assumed the anorexia resulted from her cirrhosis. Now, that I have read the gossip/Oprah stuff I lean more towards Willy's opinion.
1238036 tn?1457315447 I have recovered leaps and bounds from many aspects of long term eating disorder behavior. I started with Anorexia from the age of 16-18 which progressed to Bulimia. The main difficulty I have is with an almost constant thought obsession regarding my body size. I seem to be hyper-aware to every pound I think I might have put on. To be honest I don't tend to use the word pound; as I feel my weight jumps around about half stones rather than pounds.
Avatar f tn first of all your periods stop because you are starving your body, and messing up all your hormone levels and plus you have no body fat. i have had an ed for almost 12 years and i didnt get my period i think till i was 18 it is not healthy to do. i have tremendous amounts of knowledge of this disease and if you ever need someone to talk to please just leave a message for me.
Avatar f tn In the meantime you can use OTC antihistamines and pain killers. For further relief from your symptoms you could do warm salt water gargles and steam inhalations. Please ensure to do this prior to your meals. Hope this helped and Do Take Care!
Avatar n tn When you say that she displays many symptoms of anorexia (in spite of eating three meals/day), what do you mean? What are the symptoms you are noticing?
Avatar n tn I'm a 27-year-old female and I "recovered" from severe anorexia after in-patient treatment in 2005. I'm 5'3" tall and weighed in the low 70s before treatment. After treatment, I was eating about 1850 calories a day and weighed just under 100 pounds (still low, I know). I continued eating about that much and exercised a bit more (but not much), and by spring 2006, my weight had dropped for some unknown reason to about 83 pounds. I was secretly pleased but disturbed.
Avatar f tn Rehab would be great if you are able to, if not please look into anorexia and bulimic meetings in your city. When your body does not have enough fat on it, this will cause you not to have your period. Swelling is very common too. You really need to get some serious help and conquer this problem. your weight is extremely low for somene of your height, and I know that you might not think you look skeletal but understand that can also be are disease telling us that we dont. I was there.
Avatar m tn Hi and welcome, Unfortunately eating disorders such as anorexia effects the entire body, including the brain and nervous systems. What you are experiencing could be due to your anorexia, as it can cause peripheral neuropathy, vitamin B12 deficientcy etc so it would be worth discussing this with your doctor. Cheers..........
Avatar f tn was it anorexia in the beginning, or me just being weird?
Avatar n tn Since Feleuk can cause problems anywhere in the body, the symptoms would depend upon where the disease is located. For example in the gastroenteritis form, anywhere from the mouth to the anus can be effected. There could be mouth problems such as stomatitis, chronic periodontal disease, in addition to vomiting and diarrhea. In the polyarthritis, immunosuppressive form, a cat could have lameness, joint swelling and pain.
1310561 tn?1285863461 Are you crazy? You are obviously not smart for your age. Anorexia can cause some severe damage on your body. If you don't give your body the nutrients it needs long time effects will come. Then you'll just look really nasty and skinny, and that is not attractive for anyone. So if thats what your going for, to look good, you're just making yourself look worse. Try a diet or exercising don't put your body through that!!
1017480 tn?1303107824 It is now 5 years down your path and your body has been trained to act in a certain way. Each time you go through an episode your body over-produces certain chemicals, digestive acids and enzymes, adrenaline and much more. Adrenaline is produced in the adrenal glands and is a toxic poison that is not meant to remain in your system.
Avatar f tn Yes, that is what it is. You are showing anorexic symptoms and it will only get worse. Talk to a counselor at school, your doctor, or another trusted adult and have them refer you to a therapist experienced with eating disorders. Your ED is related to how you feel about yourself and you need help working through both so you can go on to live a good life. Please do it soon.
