Avatar f tn t happen over night and doing it right will keep it off longer... With anorexia the second you start to eat your body holds in everything including the fat because it knows you will starve it again. Also when you stop eating your body will start to eat itself (including your muscles). You can do this hun... keep it up and persevere.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.
766752 tn?1234946743 wow thats a lot of food for recovering from anorexia.... I wish I coluld eat that much food in a day o_o How long have u been recovering?

639751 tn?1223570892 If I was hungry, I would avoid any place with food. Anorexia made me miss my 8th grade year, and much of Highschool. Anorexia got me sick again in college, so that I didnt have enough energy to finish. Anorexia eroded away at my brain in the end, and I ended up in a coma, with little to no rational thoughts for months prior. I would hide food and not eat it, or throw food away after having two bites and cover it in soap in case my ravenous hunger got to be the best of me.
773368 tn?1235322140 I've had anorexia for about 2 years now. I've been in and out of hospitals. This past year I've had the opportunity to recover by myself, or else I'd be going right back to the hospital. I was maintaining a "danger zone" weight for 6 months. My doctor was finally fed up and told me if I didn't gain any weight, then she'll have no choice but to put me back into a hospital. I was like, **** THAT.
Avatar m tn It’s best not to force food down the throat of a person with anorexia. It is best to get medical help. If person eats less then protein and carbohydrate shakes can be given. Meat and vegetables can be pureed. Egg can be beaten into milk. The treatment involves various types of behavior therapies, nutritional guidance, medications to control hunger, food satiety, and exercise and yoga. Please consult a good psychologist/psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders. Take care!
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
Avatar f tn I am developing anorexia, but I don't feel bad for it at all. I don't feel compelled to get help, etc. I don't feel like I'm good enough for people to care. I've recently dropped 13 pounds in two weeks. I don't think I deserve food either, so why bother getting help for something I don't deserve?
Avatar f tn I know what to do, how much to eat, what to eat, exercise, and i have the equipment and money to buy the food. I just don't. I don't know why. It's like eating after restricting to such a point of starvation. food just nurtures me when Im bored and stressed. which is always. I eat even when i don't like it. I always finish the large portions I create. and I can't seem to motivate myself to stop. what should I do. Has anyone else had this problem.
Avatar f tn I think my friend is anorexic. In her family it is awkward, she is very fussy with food and gets no dinner every night. She could get some round her nan's next door but chooses not to. She does not think she is fat but at 16 she weighs under 7 stone. Her mum (who doesn't help the problem in the slightest) has told my mum that my friends periods have been all over the place and not following a normal pattern. She knows she is welcome to have food round my house.
Avatar n tn I know you may not believe me but it had nothing to do with food. Food is something she can control. Talk to see what is really bothering her. Keep at it. DO NOT let up. I wish my parents got at me sooner, or anyone for that matter.
Avatar n tn My family thinks that I have Anorexia. I have a histroy of mental health problems, including; PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and ADHD.
Avatar n tn This sounds like either a pancreatitis or an ingested foreign body. Vomiting and anorexia are very serious and the fact that it has been going on for one week makes it even more serious. Call a veterinarian immediately, do not even wait until your local vet is open, go to an emergency clinic if you have to.
Avatar m tn Looking for insight on my girl friends malnutrition. she has a history with anorexia but has managed it herself over the years. We've been together 3 years now I've seen her success with routine eating but hardly cosistent. She cycles to work, works 3-4 jobs and manages to find time to workout or swim 1-2 times a day plus consumin considerable amounts of water and eating light meals here and there. I believe these habits contribute to her insecurity of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn Last week, my 8 year old Siberian Husky went down with acute pancreatitis, which was probably triggered by gorging on dog food. (he got into the canister of food) He came home on Thursday, and on Friday appeared to be on track, but my dog sitter had trouble administering his antibiotic and pain meds. By the time I got home on Sunday he was lethargic and totally off his food.
Avatar f tn It begins to become a habit and soon, when you are recovering from anorexia and bulimia (if you started throwing up) you would hardly be able to keep your food down at every meal. At 90 pounds, you are close to dying. If you start throwing up you can rupture your esophagus and possibly an organ, bleeding to death internally. It sounds like your combined anorexia and self harm is a form of seeking control. Although I can always be wrong, it's likely a main cause.
Avatar f tn I'm having a very tough time at college. I have been trying to recover from Anorexia for over a year. I was doing well at home. I was making my own foods and increasing my calories. I moved away for college and I want to go home. I'm doing much worse than before. I cannot make my own food since I live in a dorm and I always feel tired because I can't sleep right, my bones and joints ache, I get dizzy, urinate frequently, and feel very full after I eat anything.
Avatar n tn There was a time when she admited to doing it, but now she waits until im not around and does it behind my back. I know she is doing it because she bloggs about it and posts up sick pictures of all these really thin girls which she wants to be like. We eat meals then she throws it up trying to avoid the calorie intake. I cant stand to know she does this.
1050362 tn?1253918483 This has been at the back of my mind most of my life, last year i started bringin no lunch to school ,this lasted about 4 weeks until my friend threatened to tell a teacher that i wasnt eating properly.so i began to eat again except i missed food so much that i ate more than usual. I felt disgusted with myself so i began making myself sick and even thought myself how to do it quietly.
Avatar f tn If you have eating behavior not clearly defined as anorexia or bulimia, its called Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified or EDNOS. I want to tell you that you are a very strong person to recognize this and that you want to change it. That is the first step. I'm not a professional, but I think you would benefit from talking to someone who can help you understand your habits and feelings of the loss of control.
