anorexia

Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
918035 tn?1274644533 I'm familiar with those same voices...they are the anorexia. Don't listen. You are worth so much more and you deserve to be healthy and have a good life. And I know you don't want to put more stuff on your family b/c of the death, but anorexia is serious and you need help to recover. I'm sure your family will be glad you told them. Yeah, maybe they will be mad about what you're doing to yourself, but that's just because they don't know anything about anorexia.

Avatar m tn //www.webmd.com/mental-health/eating-disorders/anorexia-nervosa/mental-health-anorexia-nervosa#1. Diagnosis of eating disorders requires you to step outside of it and ask for help. The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
1050362 tn?1253918483 Hi Alannah You are doing the right thing by posting on here because you realize that you need help. The good news is you haven't been doing this so long which makes it easier to get help, but that doesn't mean it's easy! Unfortunately, it doesn't get better, it only gets worse and your health is at risk. More important at this moment is you are miserable and you don't have to live this way!

Avatar f tn I am developing anorexia, but I don't feel bad for it at all. I don't feel compelled to get help, etc. I don't feel like I'm good enough for people to care. I've recently dropped 13 pounds in two weeks. I don't think I deserve food either, so why bother getting help for something I don't deserve?
Avatar f tn Start a good multi vitamin, protein drinks for added energy, and some b6 and b12 to help level you out. Because of your pattern of trading one med for another, be careful of any benzo's no matter how tempting. I used these to help with w/d and then had that monkey to deal with. Can someone help with your kiddos for a few days? Keep posting with your symptoms and more folks will be on to help. MOST IMPORTANT, keep pushing fluids.
Avatar n tn Dear kate306, Your gastrointestinal system could definitely be thrown off from your anorexia. Your current anxiety could be the culprit for your diarrhea. Anxiety and Anorexia often go hand in hand. Seeking medical attention for your diarrhea is recommended. Getting to the root of your anxiety and decreasing your anxiety is critical. Avatar f tn Hello! I do think they are separate diseases. I am not sure that orthorexia is commonly diagnosed though. I do not hear of many people who are diagnosed with this disorder, but I tend to hear of people being diagnosed EDNOS who may have symptoms that are similar to orthorexia. So it's not to say that people do not have this problem, but I just don't think it's one that is recognized and diagnosed as that. This is more my opinion, and based on what I've observed.

Avatar f tn "You're not fat" and "You're so skinny" are both true, yet clearly inaffective statements. I know somebody saying you're skinny isn't going to change you're opinion about yourself. Oh, and don't try throwing up. It begins to become a habit and soon, when you are recovering from anorexia and bulimia (if you started throwing up) you would hardly be able to keep your food down at every meal. At 90 pounds, you are close to dying.
