anorexia

18663 tn?1198171815 Hi Thanks so much for taking my question. While I don't know for sure, I suspect my girlfriend has anorexia. She has been dropping a lot of weight, but says it's because she's too fat. Right now she is 5'4" and weighs about 92 pounds and she looks like ****!. She thinks she's FAT! Everytime we go out for dinner she only eats a few bites and then has to go to the ladies room.
Avatar n tn Ok so my girlfriend has what has been classified as anorexia nervosa by her doctors that was much worse in the past than it is now. She has raised her calorie intake but she is afraid to bring it up to completely normal levels. Right now she is at a healthy body weight but she would still like to lose some pounds.
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
Avatar n tn My skin and my face took on a very sickly/anemic/ugly/unsavory look that everyone from my girlfriend to my grandparents could agree was a major change for the worse (my girlfriend dumped me quick). My life's been really bad since this happened. It's been over 10 years now and I never regained my former good looks. I've read somewhere that a similar thing occurs to meth addicts.
Avatar n tn Are there any other symptoms on the skin? If not, I would encourage your girlfriend to visit her physician to make sure all her vitals are okay (ie. blood tests). Hair loss can also be associated with anorexia. Make sure your girlfriend is eating healthy, balanced meals.
Avatar n tn She does grind her teeth at night and wears a guard in her mouth while she sleeps to help prevent head/jaw aches from the grinding at night. Can the seizures/migraines be linked to anorexia or past history of anorexia?
Avatar m tn My Girlfriend Hasnt been eatting much lately. I think she may have an eatting disorder.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend has been funny with food, eating around people or carrying anything with food in it since I have meet her. She has also been in hospital in the past for 6 months recovering from anorexia. She has a long mental health history and is now 20 and is reluctant to speak with anyone about anything. A little over a month ago she started becoming more secretive with food not eating at all even in front of me. I caught her out a few times on not eating and having pretended she was.
Avatar n tn I have been with my girlfriend about a year now. Shes 22, 5'9'', and 135 lbs. Ever since I met her, she has been doing this on and off. Its been great for a few months, but shes back at it again. There was a time when she admited to doing it, but now she waits until im not around and does it behind my back. I know she is doing it because she bloggs about it and posts up sick pictures of all these really thin girls which she wants to be like.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure whether I should be concerned; I may just be overreacting. But I recently learned that my best friend's girlfriend, who he has been dating for a few months, was battling anorexia a couple of years ago. Since then, I've noticed that even now she has a very strange diet. The only things she is willing to eat are bread and sugary foods like ice cream and cake, and she drinks only water. Very infrequently she will indulge in a sweet fruit such as strawberries.
918035 tn?1274644533 I'm familiar with those same voices...they are the anorexia. Don't listen. You are worth so much more and you deserve to be healthy and have a good life. And I know you don't want to put more stuff on your family b/c of the death, but anorexia is serious and you need help to recover. I'm sure your family will be glad you told them. Yeah, maybe they will be mad about what you're doing to yourself, but that's just because they don't know anything about anorexia.
Avatar f tn My Stepdad is always caling me ugly .. And when i look in the mirror i believe it sometimes, all my friends say i'm beautiful. I'm 5'3 and 100 pounds and i'm scared that i'll become anorexic, When i don't eat i get headaches, I always carry Ibuprofen with me, i take atleast 2 or 3 a day, I just really need help ..
Avatar m tn ve been trying so hard to help my girlfriend with anorexia ever since she told me a little while ago. She has been sleeping A LOT.. Like upwards of perhaps 16 hours a day. She has had heart palpitations and shortness of breath and a lot of other symptoms. I got her to go to the hospital, but they just kept her for a little while and then released her and now everything is back to the same. She wants to go to a clinic, but it's only one day a week. That's enough in my opinion.
