Avatar f tn My parents are very angry with me and have basically disowned me from the family. They think I have anorexia but I dont I dont think im fat and need to lose weight. I just have alot of panic attacks and start to shake and then i cant get my dinner. Can anyone please help me - what can i do to make this stop???
Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
Avatar n tn thanks 4 caring I feel so alone at the moment even though I have support from my husband and his family. My own family will not even acknowlage that I am ill. They have made me feel ugly and fat all my life I always wished I was adopted and that my real parents would come and get me. I weigh 91lb sorry I dont know what that is in kilos. I wasnt just hit I was also sexually abused by my brother it wasnt full on but it went on 4 years he still totally freaks me out.
Avatar f tn I think my friend is anorexic. In her family it is awkward, she is very fussy with food and gets no dinner every night. She could get some round her nan's next door but chooses not to. She does not think she is fat but at 16 she weighs under 7 stone. Her mum (who doesn't help the problem in the slightest) has told my mum that my friends periods have been all over the place and not following a normal pattern. She knows she is welcome to have food round my house.
Avatar f tn i have been suffering from Anorexia for five years, and the last two of those years developed bulimia as welll. im 23 years old. after 5 years, i broke down and asked my mom for help, becasue my hair is falling out and my weight has consumed everry part of my life, I cant be happy or function if my bodies not tiny and thin.
1106321 tn?1258580667 I would recommend that you work directly with the professionals that are treating your son. Family treatment is a crucial part of reentry into the home. Family passes for both the child and the family can be quite instrumental in the readjustment period. Also, they could best direct you for the specific needs of your son and your family. Avatar f tn Are you getting help for your depression? And the anorexia? Please tell me you are. You've been through a horrible time and you need all the support you can get.
Avatar f tn So I'm a 16 year old girl, about 5'5' and 110lbs. I'm on a calorie restricting diet and exercising a lot to lose weight. My family doesn't know and I can't talk to them about it due to circumstances i cannot discuss. My one friend who knows about this tells me I'm on the verge of anorexia and people at school are talking about me saying how skinny I'm getting. When people originally told me this I took it as a compliment, now I find it embarrassing.
Avatar n tn Is there treatment For Eating Disorders other than Impatient Hospitals? My family thinks that I have Anorexia. I have a histroy of mental health problems, including; PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and ADHD.
Avatar f tn I suffered from anorexia for a few years. Now binge eating. Don't ask me how I did that. But anyway don't get yourself into the disease. It robbed me of at least 4 years of my life that ill never get back. Don't waste time. Obsessing over food and losing weight is silly to be honest. Skin and bones are not attractive. Conult a therapist and nutrionist to get it worked out before it becomes a bigger problem. The best advice I heard was get a life.
Avatar n tn She has also been in hospital in the past for 6 months recovering from anorexia. She has a long mental health history and is now 20 and is reluctant to speak with anyone about anything. A little over a month ago she started becoming more secretive with food not eating at all even in front of me. I caught her out a few times on not eating and having pretended she was.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm new and terrified for a friend who says she's been diagnosed with Lyme disease. At first, I had no reason to believe otherwise. However, I'm not sure now. She has lost an extreme amount of weight. A couple of years ago when this all began, she was losing weight quickly and couldn't eat anything unless it was pureed. Without going into all the details, she presented all the signs of anorexia and still does.
