Common Questions and Answers about Anorexia help chat

Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.

918035 tn?1274644533 I'm familiar with those same voices...they are the anorexia. Don't listen. You are worth so much more and you deserve to be healthy and have a good life. And I know you don't want to put more stuff on your family b/c of the death, but anorexia is serious and you need help to recover. I'm sure your family will be glad you told them. Yeah, maybe they will be mad about what you're doing to yourself, but that's just because they don't know anything about anorexia.

Avatar f tn Sneezing was one of the first things to start, as well as runny nose, worsening pain, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, anorexia (just means poor appetite, not anorexia nervosa). As hours progressed, severe anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia, body aches, sweats, chills, tremors, headache, desperation, depression, irritability, restless leg syndrome, intolerance to noise and light, racing heart, rumbling gut, ...pretty much sums up the worst. Emotional ups and downs after that.

Avatar n tn Is anyone out there a binge eater that would like to get into contact to help recovery? I've had eating disorders for the past 10 years...anorexia, bulimia, recovered on my own for a bit, but now after starting a career and having more stress in my life, I'm not normal anymore. I binge. I went on topamax for a bit and this helped but didn't like the weird side effects and I know I can't rely on drugs my whole life. I'm 26 and just want to be normal with food.
Avatar f tn My friend has been diagnosed with anorexia. She is fifteen and eats less than 500 calories a day. Getting changed for PE her stomach is concave and her ribs stick out. I'm really worried about her and want to know if there's anything I can do to help her get better. Please help!
Avatar n tn Dear kate306, Your gastrointestinal system could definitely be thrown off from your anorexia. Your current anxiety could be the culprit for your diarrhea. Anxiety and Anorexia often go hand in hand. Seeking medical attention for your diarrhea is recommended. Getting to the root of your anxiety and decreasing your anxiety is critical. 918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
Avatar m tn // Diagnosis of eating disorders requires you to step outside of it and ask for help. The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
Avatar f tn Hi, so yeah I have already once posted a question about whether I have eating disorders, but I am now wondering if that has developed into anorexia. I am 15 years old and I weigh 49kg. I lost 20kg since February and also lost my period. I can't stop counting calories and everyday (whether I ate a lot or not) I feel guilty about eating and can't stop exercising. I also feel like its never enough, that I need to loose more to have the perfect body.
