How many times do you have to puke yourself to be considered bulimic? Does anorexia or bulimia cause hair loss? And is there any possible way that any of this could cause my hands to shake?
I am quite fatigued the last month and a half and now quite moody.
Im a 23 year old female, Im a social worker (so yes this is a very difficult situation) I have been diagnosed with anorexia/bulimia, OCD and depression-for approx 1 year now. I dropped from 185 to my lowest ever 106lbs. I recently went to my doctor and was prescribed cirpralex....I am now reading that is helped to treat bulimia. I no i shouldn't be, but anyone who has had an eating disorder can understand that Im now freaking out!!!!
i have been suffering from Anorexia for five years, and the last two of those years developed bulimia as welll. im 23 years old. after 5 years, i broke down and asked my mom for help, becasue my hair is falling out and my weight has consumed everry part of my life, I cant be happy or function if my bodies not tiny and thin.
I've been trying to find out how long someone can live with anorexia/bulimia, but can't find anything. I guess it really depends on the individual, but there's not even a range given. Any ideas?
A little background:
I've had anorexia for 14 years and bulimia for 2. I've been very fortunate in not having any serious medical complications, however in the last 3 years my eating disorder has become my entire life.
I was wondering if her doctors have considered issues like bulimia/ anorexia in her. Other than this issues that may need to be considered are recurrent infections, food allergies/ intolerance, parasitic infestations etc. Without a clinical evaluation it would be inappropriate on my side to comment further. I would suggest a detailed evaluation by a gastroenterologist for the above mentioned possibilities. After a cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly.

I've lived with anorexia for multiple years now, and recently I have also been having more frequent patterns of bulimia. I have finally realized that I don't want to live my life this way, as it has affected more than my physical health. My parents do not know, and we don't have the money for any formal treatment. So I'm wondering, what can I do to help get on the "road to recovery"?
It begins to become a habit and soon, when you are recovering from anorexia and bulimia (if you started throwing up) you would hardly be able to keep your food down at every meal. At 90 pounds, you are close to dying. If you start throwing up you can rupture your esophagus and possibly an organ, bleeding to death internally. It sounds like your combined anorexia and self harm is a form of seeking control. Although I can always be wrong, it's likely a main cause.
I'm having a very tough time at college. I have been trying to recover from Anorexia for over a year. I was doing well at home. I was making my own foods and increasing my calories. I moved away for college and I want to go home. I'm doing much worse than before. To get to the point, I've had an eating disorder for a few years, since I was almost 11, and now I'm 15. It's varied from anorexia to bulimia, but these past few years its centered around binging and purging. For the past few months, I've found blood in my vomit. Its a dark brown and it resembles coffee grounds. I've also been having sharp pains in my abdominal and chest, which usually don't last long at all. Lately, though, the chest pains have been lingering.
