Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.
179856 tn?1333547362 I was just reading about Portia DeRossi's anorexia and it says when she was down to 82 pounds she "was told she was suffering from a handful of serious conditions: osteoporosis, organ failure, cirrhosis of the liver and the auto-immune disease lupus." how would anorexia cause cirrhosis does anybody know? I'm just curious because I never heard of that before and was wondering how it was related.

He says he is experiencing aches and pains all over, and he is blind in hsi left eye, and has had surgery to move the muscle so that his eye looks the right way, because it crossed inward before. But I have heard this happens to other people as well. It is dizziness/vision blacking out, and last time the searing pain brought him to his knees. 869670 tn?1239964618 You are taking the first step, maddie, by saying you need help, and by stating, at least on this forum, that you are anorexic. The next step is to tell someone in your life who you trust and, with their support, to get professional help. You can start with your family doctor. But he or she will, hopefully, refer you to someone who is an expert in eating disorders. You can also try attending a meeting of OA.

Avatar n tn Hello there, I have been battling various forms of Anorexia/Bulimia since my mid teens and now I am 26 years old. I am about 5'2 and weight around 78lbs. I am in the care of a physician and a therapist, yet I still feel a little lost on how to get started on my recovery, with what to eat, how much, etc. I think this is because I haven't eaten normally in so long my body doesn't know how to tell me what it really needs or when its had enough or not enough.
1479003 tn?1287429481 It's very hard. I didn't start getting recovery until I was able to let go obsessing on the weight. It's hard to do without help. Good for you on seeking help, and let us know how it goes.

Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. If your ketones are higher than 3.0, I strongly urge you to speak to your parents. That is indicative of a serious issue. This is something that you should contact your doctor about immediately. To ask, and please know this is an anonymous forum, but do you have any eating disorder issues such as anorexia or bulimia? Are you on a special diet? Just asking for what additional influences on your numbers there could be.
Avatar f tn My friend has been diagnosed with anorexia. She is fifteen and eats less than 500 calories a day. Getting changed for PE her stomach is concave and her ribs stick out. I'm really worried about her and want to know if there's anything I can do to help her get better. Please help!
Avatar f tn html However, anorexia is a very serious condition! And with it, nothing may taste good to her. This is something that you really need professional help to deal with, and the sooner the better. I worry about the fact that she doesn't want her sisters to know about her. She should not be ashamed about what is going on. And it really is preventing her from getting better! This is a serious condition and even life threatening condition.
Avatar n tn Dear kate306, Your gastrointestinal system could definitely be thrown off from your anorexia. Your current anxiety could be the culprit for your diarrhea. Anxiety and Anorexia often go hand in hand. Seeking medical attention for your diarrhea is recommended. Getting to the root of your anxiety and decreasing your anxiety is critical.
