1938479 tn?1325705620 I found a BMI calculator that might help more. Keep in mind that if girls in your school and on your social media pages are promoting being thin and acting like anorexia is the "in" thing and are pressuring you that this is a horrible idea and will have profound consequences on their lives as well as anyone they manage to influence. Anorexia is a mental illness. Being thin as a stick is not healthy.
Avatar f tn Saying that, IF you are having an eating disorder such as anorexia, that can play havoc with the heart which can result in death. Get help.
Avatar f tn t happen over night and doing it right will keep it off longer... With anorexia the second you start to eat your body holds in everything including the fat because it knows you will starve it again. Also when you stop eating your body will start to eat itself (including your muscles). You can do this hun... keep it up and persevere.
Avatar f tn Hmm. "Burning feet". I don't think it's a big health concern - but it sure is irritating! Have you had a time in your life where you didn't get enough nutrition? Burning feet is common among former prisoners of war, people with anorexia and bulimia, people who had long periods of inability to eat for some reason or another and people with a history of anemia.

Avatar m tn //www.webmd.com/mental-health/eating-disorders/anorexia-nervosa/mental-health-anorexia-nervosa#1. Diagnosis of eating disorders requires you to step outside of it and ask for help. The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
Avatar f tn I'm having a very tough time at college. I have been trying to recover from Anorexia for over a year. I was doing well at home. I was making my own foods and increasing my calories. I moved away for college and I want to go home. I'm doing much worse than before. I cannot make my own food since I live in a dorm and I always feel tired because I can't sleep right, my bones and joints ache, I get dizzy, urinate frequently, and feel very full after I eat anything.
Avatar n tn My family thinks that I have Anorexia. I have a histroy of mental health problems, including; PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and ADHD.
Avatar f tn Can someone give me some advice to overcome 'anorexia'(that what my doctor says). I guess you can say im jealous of my big brother because he can eat anything without getting fat. Which is really annoying since I always watch what I eat and I still am fat. My big brother is 17 and he 6,4 and only weighs 122 pounds. Im 15 and 5,5 and weigh 92.5 pounds. And believe me when I say my brother doesn't have a eating disorder.
Avatar f tn m a college student working on a research project on orthorexia nervosa for a Health and Illness class. I was wondering about the medical and social differences between patients with anorexia and patients with orthorexia, or if generally they are felt to be the same disease?
785277 tn?1244324809 More importantly however is addressing the issue of anorexia and bulimia. There are other major health issues that need to be addressed as well. I suggest you post in the Anorexia/Bulimia/Binge Eating section in the Ask a Doctor forum to find out more. Sorry I don't particularly deal with it in terms of overall health.
Avatar f tn This is not a direct question about health insurance.... Hi I'm a 21yr old female I'm 5'4 and weigh like 106lbs. I'm very solid and tone (naturaly) so I look smaller than what I weigh. I would like to get some kind of information on a healthy way of gaining some weight. I would like to put on at least 8 pounds.
Avatar f tn I don't think some girls know google exist and they can get an answer and much more straight away ....
Avatar m tn I just honestly have no true desire for sexual activity. Could this be a form of sexual anorexia? What should I do to help my relationship? Am I too young for sexual Health meds?
554703 tn?1227497870 I never had an eating disorder per say, but years ago during a hard time with my Ex-husband, I didn't eat much and when I did, I only ate things like rice and ham. I lost 39 pounds in 5 weeks and woke up one morning with my heart beating all over the place and was rushed to the ER. Long story short, I was told I was close to joining Karen Carpenter. Karen died from "heartbeat irregularities brought on by chemical (electrolyte) imbalances associated with anorexia nervosa.
Avatar m tn There is no evidence that strongly links excessive masturbation to any uill health. On the contrary - masturbation has been shown (in some studies) to decrease the likleyhood of prostate cancer. If this is to be believed, you are only doing yourself good. How often are you masturbating?
Avatar n tn i would just like 2 know how serious this is and if its risking my health.
Avatar f tn I am 14 years old, and I am developing anorexia nervosa. DO NOT starve yourself, it can lead to anorexia which I can tell you will take over your life. I understand the pressure to be pretty/perfect/thin. It is a hard thing to deal with psychologically. Try to eat health, but make sure that you are getting a health amount of calories- again, don't starve yourself. Try to exercise 20 minutes a day, and as time goes by ramp up the number of minutes you spend on moderate physical activity.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm new and terrified for a friend who says she's been diagnosed with Lyme disease. At first, I had no reason to believe otherwise. However, I'm not sure now. She has lost an extreme amount of weight. A couple of years ago when this all began, she was losing weight quickly and couldn't eat anything unless it was pureed. Without going into all the details, she presented all the signs of anorexia and still does.
Avatar n tn Hello, I tried to do a Google search on this, but could not find the show, here is the link however, hope it helps. http://www.tv.com/mystery-diagnosis/show/69317/summary.
