Avatar f tn Hey, I got the diagnosis of epilepsy. The doctusaid anorexia isn’t the cause as the problem is only in one small area of the brain. She said sometimes epilepsy happens and there is no known cause. My anorexia was awful, took over my whole life then it developed in bulimia and gradually I stopped. I still have cycles where I find myself slipping into staving myself, it’s a life long battle.

The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
Avatar f tn Oh my gosh, so sorry for your question going unanswered for so long. This is very important. It's obviously time to really get serious about the anorexia. It's a difficult diagnosis in general. It can be difficult to get proper nutrition when pregnant and having an eating disorder and so babies can then have a low birth weight. Trying to get the right number of calories as well as staying hydrating and not over exercising will be your challenge and one to take seriously.
Avatar f tn i have had this problem for years, a GI history like no other, with no diagnosis. Avatar m tn Hello, Weight loss is one of the side effects of taking Accutane and it may cause anorexia as well. Eat a healthy nutritious diet and consult your doctor if weight loss is a major problem. You may need to be put on some other medication for acne rather than Accutane. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn t eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight. Though technically, part of the clinical diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa is losing 15 percent or more of what your normal body weight should be, you do not need to be super thin in order to have an eating disorder. Most of what an eating disorder, such as Anorexia, consists of is the emotional/mental aspect..
Avatar m tn t feel it would hurt her psychologically as it is part of the diagnosis process. Anorexia/Bulemia cannot be ruled out with the information given and must be considered along with all other possibilities. This condition is very common and especially in the teen years.
Avatar f tn If you have eating behavior not clearly defined as anorexia or bulimia, its called Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified or EDNOS. I want to tell you that you are a very strong person to recognize this and that you want to change it. That is the first step. I'm not a professional, but I think you would benefit from talking to someone who can help you understand your habits and feelings of the loss of control.

Avatar f tn If there is more hair loss than this, the first cause we look at is diet. It has been long known that anorexia causes hair loss. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Anyone with a resting heart rate over 100 should be checked by a doctor, if just over 100, say even 120, I'd say in most cases it can be done on a non-emergency scheduled basis - depending on other symptoms. In your case and in the absence of any specific knowledge about anorexia I can't make a connection, but I suspect anorexia puts stress on one's body and that could be at least part of the driver for the above normal HR.

Avatar f tn Hi Folks: I am praying and hoping that someone in this Forum (or another - I will post my "case study" in a few places with the hope of getting an answer or some suggestions) can help me figure out what is wrong with me. To date I have seen at least 13 (THIRTEEN) doctors and none of them can give me a solid diagnosis - and meanwhile, I am still symptomatic of SOMETHING, and don't know what to do. So here's the facts. Current Medical Status: 1.
Avatar m tn My HR usually is around 58-71 when resting during the day but sometimes goes as low as 51 or 52. However at night and in the mornings it drops to around 45 to 55. When I am asleep it has periods where it drops anywhere to between 19-31 bpm and then spiking immediately to anywhere between 206-227 bpm. Is this normal? What's going on? The only answer I could find was sleep apnea, which would make sense because I do wake up gasping for breathe often, but I just don't know.
Avatar f tn for all our marriage and our lives are full of rows and abuse. I have had mental health problems since I was a child - depression, mild anorexia, phobias which have made my life very difficult at times. My husband seems to put everything bad down to my moods and I feel totally scapegoated. When I was diagnosed I did not confess to the emotional and physical abuse that is present in our relationship. Later I did and the diagnosis (which was 95% certain) was questioned.
Avatar f tn You sound a lot like me when I was around that age, and they never quite figured out what was wrong with me or what my diagnosis was. Today, I know myself to be an addict, described completely in the Narcotics Anonymous program, not just a drug addict, but an addict in general-thinking, acting, everything. I also went through anorexia and have only been in recovery for one year, but after 11 years of being in it, 1 year is a long time. I was diagnosed at 12, I'm now almost 24.
