Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.

I assumed she had anorexia - eating disorder from any cause - and that is why I assumed the anorexia resulted from her cirrhosis. Now, that I have read the gossip/Oprah stuff I lean more towards Willy's opinion.

Avatar f tn If you have eating behavior not clearly defined as anorexia or bulimia, its called Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified or EDNOS. I want to tell you that you are a very strong person to recognize this and that you want to change it. That is the first step. I'm not a professional, but I think you would benefit from talking to someone who can help you understand your habits and feelings of the loss of control.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Avatar m tn Is she scared to gain weight? Is she obsessive about her body? If so, these are signs of anorexia nervosa. Sometimes when someone doesn't eat for a while the stomach gets smaller and a person can feel full faster. This can happen even for a person who does not show signs of or have an eating disorder. Is the reason she hasn't been eating much lately because she feels sick, or does she feel sick because she hasn't been eating much lately?

Avatar f tn To get to the point, I've had an eating disorder for a few years, since I was almost 11, and now I'm 15. It's varied from anorexia to bulimia, but these past few years its centered around binging and purging. For the past few months, I've found blood in my vomit. Its a dark brown and it resembles coffee grounds. I've also been having sharp pains in my abdominal and chest, which usually don't last long at all. Lately, though, the chest pains have been lingering.
Avatar f tn Dear littleem, Do not blame yourself for your PCOS. Research shows that females diagnosed with anorexia nervosa had their polycystic ovary disease symptoms prior to weight loss. Their body mass index was higher when their menses stopped. In addition, their LH and estrogen levels were higher than those adolescents with anorexia only.
