976897 tn?1379167602 For the femoral site, the catheter is introduced via a sheath in the femoral artery, and is advanced up the abdominal aorta, over the aortic arch, and dye is then injected into the coronary arteries. For the radial site, the right radial artery is most often used. The catheter is advanced up the right radial, brachial, axillary, and subsequently the subclavian artery. The aortic arch does not nave to be navigated.
Avatar n tn The first letter of the main coronary arteries designate whether left or right. Such as LCX left circumflex LAD left anterior descending RCA right coronary artery. It would be better to look at a diagram rather than explain it, here's an example for you.... http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.timmcmurry.com/files/coronary_arteries.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.timmcmurry.com/CVRU_pages/CVRU_Employees.
Avatar m tn there is problem to my father-in-law about Right Coronary Artery. In the diagnostic report problem in RCA and other report in normal. in RCA comments " Is a dominant vessel and arises from right coronary sinus. measure 4.2 mm in diameter in proximal segment. Long segment (100 mm) of severe to critical stensis (app 90-99%) is seen in the mid /distal portion (30 mm from origin) due to sft plaques". What is the solution about above mentioned problem. Can this treat without surgery.
Avatar n tn It would require open-heart surgery to replace the valve, and if your father also needed coronary artery intervention, then the surgeon would do a coronary artery bypass at the same time. Since the doctor gave you "options," maybe a calcified aortic valve is not the problem, but you can look up some pictures of the aortic root on the internet and see that the aortic valve is right there. Sometimes it does get calcified and stenotic, especially in older people.
Avatar m tn The results of stenosis of each coronary artery and LVEF (heart failure) were correlated to carotid artery stenosis but no association was found to cerebrovascular parameters. Only severity of coronary artery disease and the Gensini score (a scoring system for evaluating collateral circulation of the coronary arteries) associated with disturbed cerebrovascular reactivity. Carotid artery stenosis was associated with decreased cerebrovascular parameters.
Avatar m tn i had my bypass surgery done in1995 becuse of 3VD at that time. I was advised a Coronary Angiogram, after I complained about my chest pain after breakfast. Angiogram report came thus: LMCA :Normal LAD: total (100%) occlusion at mid segment ; LIMA to LAD patent LCX: total occlusion at mid segment ; SVG to OM - total occlusion at origin. RCA: Dominant ; total occlusion mid segment ;retrograde filling via bridging collaterals ; SVG to RCA - totally occluded at orogin Impression: Severe 3VD.
Avatar n tn You would need a stress test or a CT scan of your heart ( 64/128 Slice Coronary CT angiogram ). Make an appointment with a cardiologist. Why do you think you have a clogged artery?
Avatar n tn I had an angiogram which reveiled nothing too significant but it does say that I have a mild tortuosity in the mid right coronary artery. My insurance would not pay for me to see my dr. again so I just wanted to know if what exactly is this and can I continue to exercise. What causes this and can it be reversed?
Avatar n tn My non-dominant right coronary artery is about 70-80% blocked but the doctor left me a voice mail saying that stenting was not called for because the right coronary supplies blood to the right ventricle which pumps blood into the lungs (a low pressure area). My question is: why would stenting be uncalled for, why not fix the problem?
Avatar m tn CT angiograms will expose you to a small amount of radiation. If you have known coronary artery disease, a traditional coronary angiogram may be a better option, since you can also receive treatment for your artery blockages during a traditional coronary angiogram. Since you are symptomatic but do not have known coronary artery disease, you can go ahead with the CT scan, based on these findings further therapy can be planned. Regards.
Avatar n tn 27 and there was no evidence of coronary artery disease on the angiogram. I was told I had a heart spasm. How much above normal was my troponin level and where would the .27 level be in relation to a mild, moderate, and massive heart attack?
Avatar n tn He was undergone a Treadmill test, a few weeks ago and the Doctor observed borderline positive Treadmill Test and suggested an Angiography. He undergone Angiogram a couple of days ago and the report said that the Right Coronary Artery is 100% blocked. According to the Cardiologist, who performed Angiography, the blockage is old. But, my father has no pain (Angina), no fatigue and other common symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease. He’s perfectly alright.

Avatar n tn Platelet and fibrin thrombi are formed at site of fissuring. Partial or intermittent occlusion of the coronary artery by thrombi (clot) will result in unstable angina while complete and persistent occlusion results in myocardial infraction. Source: Handbook of dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis. J-C. Fruchart. Calcium... don't be concerned as you do not have any significant heart problem and there is very little risk of an acute heart event.
Avatar m tn The likelihood that you have coronary artery disease is determined not only by the results of the stress testing, but also by your probabilty of coronary disease based on your risk factors such as cigarette smoking, family history, cholesterol levels, and hypertension . Your physician will evaluate your symptoms, risk factors, and stress test results. It sounds like your are on the right track with the stress testing.
Avatar f tn This is the same risk as for women who had classic, large vessel coronary artery disease. Despite the high risk of hospitalization for true angina, however, women with positive MRS scans had a favorable overall prognosis...if you have Syndrome X, MRS my be enlightening. For some insight, MRS is a powerful corroborative evidence that women with Cardiac Syndrome X are not merely anxious, flighty, or hypochondriacs.
Avatar n tn 1. Anomalous origin or the right coronary artery, coursing between the ascending aorta and the pulmonary outflow tract, the "lethal Variant" with between 50 and 75% narrowing of its proximal segment.... Doesn't that mean possibly only 25% is coursing through....? Is that what you were referring to in your first paragraph? We're tending to think the surgeon may be trying to buy a new Porsche for Christmas or something...I guess I shouldn't joke that way.
Avatar n tn The heart is supplied by oxygen rich blood through three coronary arteries (vessels). Your father's coronary angiogram shows that all three vessels are diseased (tVCAD= triple vessel Coronary Artery Disease). This means that in all three vessels there is evidence of blockages. Blockages can be mild or severe or even complete, so the fact that your father has tVCAD dooes not say much about the severity of the disease. That he does not feel well could mean that it is serious though.
