Common Questions and Answers about Androgel side effects medication

androgel

Avatar f tn Hi. Your husband's testosterone was low, and normally they give testosterone shots for this, or I should say "you" would be giving your husband the shots. But he can also have the nurse at his doctor's office give them to him. It's good that he saw an Endo, and he/she really can't comment until his test results come back. At this time she will have lots to discuss with you.
Avatar m tn Hello, Gynecomastia(enlargement of male breasts) and priapism(frequent or prolonged erections) are common side effects of the androgel(testosterone gel).Pls stop using this drug and consult a urologist for the erection problems that you are having. It can be due to psychological or medical causes which need to be ruled out one by one. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

650419 tn?1281359937 m currently on Androgel but the side effect is that it keeps me up all night long like insomnia. I have been living this way for 4 months. I can't go to sleep until 4 or 5 am every morning. If I were to switch to the shots or the pellets would that rid me of the current side effects that I'm suffering from?
Avatar m tn My Doctor change my meds to first Issentris and Truvada but I was unable to manage with the side effects. So he changed me to Stribild and I had a hard time with this medication also. So now I am back my old regiment and things are the same with no strength and a lot of fatigue. I have been to see a orthopedic and his tests come up negative. My doctors are becoming a lot less sympathetic and they seem to be giving up.
Avatar m tn Androgel is a tightly controlled medication that may only be used under a physician's supervision. It is on the black-market (quite expensively) and used illegally for (alleged) athletic improvement. Ask your prescribing physician for instructions.
Avatar m tn I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help? I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.
Avatar f tn Obviously, anything that gives you side effects that bad is probably not the right treatment for you. Generally, women aren't given that treatment as it can cause acne, hair growth where women don't want it, and other male attributes. In your case, you had low testosterone and high SHBG, which might have been able to be treated by dietary changes. But people are different. A problem is, testosterone varies a whole lot in both men and women, by the day, hour, week, etc.
Avatar m tn Multaq is better than amiodarone in terms of shorter half-life but it is still pretty bad in terms of side effects.
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.

Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
Avatar f tn Hi Jennifer, How are you? Medication side effects may or may not occur to patients. You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. However, it is important that any sign of allergic reaction such as difficulty of breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. twitching or tremor will warrant immediate attention. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any side effects from Depakote ER? My 24 year old son was just diagnosed with Seizures, after experiencing several episodes of lost of consciousness. Can anyone out there tell me if they have had constant nausea, fatigue and some heartburn from the medication?
978469 tn?1433547946 It should be between 60 and 100 at rest. If your Dr knows little about the Androgel effects can you see another one that does? Your numbers may be caused from this or it could be another reason. If you have pre-hypertension Drs normally want to try and control with it diet and exercise first. Have you cut back on the caffeine and started drinking more water yet?
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
Avatar f tn I would NOT quit Androgel. I started using Androgel because of depression, hair loss, shaving every 3 days (which is good!), atrophying of all muscles and my bone density dropped. I started Androgel 1.62% and everything improved greatly Good luck and do this only with doctors approval.
