My question is should I opt for the pellets or the shots? Do they have the insomnia side effects that the gel has? Can I take the shot to get my level of testosterone where it needs to be and then have the pellets sown in in order to keep my testosterone level where it needs to be for 3 or 4 months at a time? I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help? I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. My Doctor change my meds to first Issentris and Truvada but I was unable to manage with the side effects. So he changed me to Stribild and I had a hard time with this medication also. Since your TSH is higher it's most likely your mood problems are more related to low T. Also google raising testosterone levels naturally in addition to hormone replacement therapy.

Androgel has worked well for me. I started at 2 pumps per day, then was increased to 3, then finally 4 per day. I've been on that dose for over 2 years and my t-level is 782. I do not have hypothyroidism, but do have osteoporosis. Hope this helps.

I have been on Androgel for about one year.
