androgel

Avatar n tn How much does a syringe of 1% androgel cost at the pharmacy? Does it vary from one pharmact to another?
Avatar m tn I took it for several months as my blood work showed low testosterone. There was no effect whatsoever on my fatigue, sex life or oven follow up test values. I personally think the whole testosterone treatment is a scam. Nobody tested me for free and albumin bound testosterone, the biologically active forms. Total testosterone is useless. This is like measuring total cholesterol without the HDL and LDL fractions. The primary practice docs are totally clueless.
Avatar m tn The Androgel bottle says it's supposed to be kept at 77 degree's. The room I keep my Androgel in a roo thats about50 degree's . Could this be affecting the Androgel? It doesny seem to be working for me. Started on 4 pumps and worked at first then it didnt. Now on 6 pumps and I felt a difference but now that has declined. Jusy wondering if the room temp could be harming this drug and maybe why it doesnt seem to be working for me. Thanks in advance, Sutallee.
Avatar f tn First time seeing a specialist. She had him stop the Androgel, although she has not heard of it causing anxiety. She is having him do blood work in 2 weeks. We are at our wits end-any ideas???? Could this all be from Low T? Could it be something else? His initial bloodwork back in March also said he was borderline diabetic-but the Dr. didn't discuss any further. The blood work the Specialist ordered is PSA, FSH, LH, FREE T4, TSH, Testosterone if that helps. Thank you.
432737 tn?1358549432 If Clomid is going to work for you, it is likely to do so within 3 cycles. The statistics are 80% in 3 cycles. BUT, that is for the women it works for. There are exceptions to every rule, I hate to say. There % is much lower for conception cycles 4-6. Some will still conceive during that timeframe, but much fewer. Clomid is a pretty standard starting point and has been around forever. It used to be the only med out there and was just called "The Fertility Pill".
Avatar f tn I would NOT quit Androgel. I started using Androgel because of depression, hair loss, shaving every 3 days (which is good!), atrophying of all muscles and my bone density dropped. I started Androgel 1.62% and everything improved greatly Good luck and do this only with doctors approval.
Avatar m tn I also have a wife 11 years younger than me. I have had no adverse side effects whatsoever from Androgel. Try it. It works wonders.
689860 tn?1238718032 This ia a much less painful method than injections and will deliver more consistent levels provided you stay on therapy. The most used version of this is AndroGel. While it is more expensive that injections, it is covered on the majority of health plans on a preferred status (which means you can get it for a co-pay of about $15-$25 per month). Doctors that are generally more in tune with hormone replacement are D.O.'s.
Avatar m tn The Arimidex I was taking seems like it was the problem. I took enough of it that it nearly zeroed my levels of estrogens. Due to some weird problems with blood pressure I was taken off this (And other drugs) to try to figure out if one of the meds was the BP problem. Letting my estrogen levels go up restored my sex drive. This is just my amateur 2 cents worth (I am not a doctor) I think having too little estrogen can mess up your sex drive just as too little testosterone can.
Avatar f tn Libido in both men and women is related closely to the level of testosterone in the blood (yes women have testosterone produced largely by the adrenal glands and men have so-called female hormones in their system). Testosterone level in the blood can be increased by a number of medications (androgel applied to the skin of the stomach, shots in the buttocks, etc.) all of which require a doctor's prescription.
5506662 tn?1369334325 I have 5 days till my due date and baby doesnt seem to want to come any time soon. The doctor said is I went to 41 weeks they would probably induce me. How exactly does that work? I thought it was just some kind of medicine they gave you through an IV but a friend said something about them sticking a needle up there. Im a little freaked out, could someone please explain it to me?
978469 tn?1433547946 I was diagnosed with low T about 7 years ago but ignored it. I just had it rechecked at it was worse. My total T was 180 and normal values are 240 to 800 according to my lab. So back in October I was started on 2.5 mg (2 pumps) of androgel. Level went up to 440 Total T. I pushed the doc to let me try 5g (4 pumps) so we can get into he high range. I have been on that now for 3.5 months Just got checked and my T was 785 and Ftrr T I believe 22.0 (very good). I fell GREAT!
650419 tn?1281359937 m currently on Androgel but the side effect is that it keeps me up all night long like insomnia. I have been living this way for 4 months. I can't go to sleep until 4 or 5 am every morning. If I were to switch to the shots or the pellets would that rid me of the current side effects that I'm suffering from?
