Avatar n tn ) Formication also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off of cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens, and can often be accompanied by visual hallucinations of insects. It's a form of hallucination- and it may stay forever, or just inexplicably dissappear one day- either way- try to live with it and relax about it. Remember- it's a reminder you are alive!
Avatar m tn Hi, I am not familiar with the withdrawal from any of those things. Please be patient as other members come on and maybe they can shed some light on this for you. I wish you the best.
Avatar m tn If and when you withdraw from the amphetamine (or anything else), you might have to tolerate some temporary discomfort. With amphetamine withdrawal, the discomfort usually comes in the form of depression and/or fatigue. If you can't tolerate lowering each of the three daily doses by 5mg, you might consider starting by lowering only the 5pm dose by a tiny amount, maybe even by less than 5mg.
737114 tn?1232035410 I am not sure....i do know depression and fatigue are the probs people have after amphetamine detox...exercise will help...tyrosine is a good amino for energy..there is an article in my journal about things that can help after cocaine or amphetamine wd as they r similar in aftermath...after narcotics it took around 2 months for my energy to return...good luck..4 weeks is great!
Avatar f tn Adderal is an amphetamine and amphetamine are not serotenergic or not that i heard of. Adderal will work with you dopamine and norepinephrine neurotransmitters. This med will give you a lot of energy, euphoria, and reduce your appetite. It is safe to take all 3 meds together without worrying about serotonin syndrome. If you really don't like the Adderal I would suggest you talk to your doctor about trying an SNRI like Effexor or Cymbalta.

Avatar m tn The amino acid Phenylanamine works on epinephrine, the same as methamphetamine. DPA or DLPA has helped amphetamine addicts I know to feel more motivated and have some energy. Tryrosine is another one. The ultimate remedy to put meth in remission is good nutrition, exercise, and enough time without using the drug. I also believe learning new ways of thinking and coping are vital. Tell us more about yourself and more experienced amphetamine users can help you more.
1318592 tn?1274252058 Hi there Vmoore213, Are you withdrawing from Meth or prescription amphetamines like adderal or Ritalin? I know most Dr's treat amphetamine withdrawal with benzos like valium, clonopin, xanax and the such. They only treat them with it for a short period of time. Do you have any of these to just take for a couple of days till your irritation and restlessness get better and so you can sleep. You probably havent slept much if you get some sleep you will feel so much better.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about the withdrawal symptoms from this? Is it worse than coming off vicodin or better? I have clonazepam 1mg which I rarely ever take. I have plenty refills for that. Was told that the clonazepam would greatly help. Is this true? I'm almost 66, widowed, lonely and I think that's why I turned to the Adderall. Gives me more energy and a little euphoria. Guess I have an addictive nature. Could someone out there help me? I can;t stand to feel so all alone.
Avatar n tn I have MS and take amphetamine (Adderall) every day just to get out of bed. I too tested positive on my urinalysis at work; however, once it was proven that I am prescribed that medication, the results sent back to work were negative.
Avatar m tn Hang in there! Day 2,3 and 4 are the worst, but I think Day 4 is better than three...your just more tired of it all at that point. Day 5 is much better. After a week, your body has started making major changes to reset it self, and stuff should get better from there. If the symptoms get to bad, ask your doctor for .1mg of clonidine two or three times a day for a week or two to get you through it. It will help with most, if not all, of the withdrawal symptoms...
Avatar f tn Is there anyone out there who knows more about amphetamine addicts and Naltrexone Implants? I appreciate Naltrexone is primarily used for heroin addicts and alcoholics, however, my boyfriend can't be the only meth addict who has been given this implant....and there doesn't seem to be anyone either of us can relate to or discuss what he's going through on this one. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. When amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug.
Avatar f tn If you are thinking drug withdrawal you probably should look at the benzodiazepines and the amphetamine. From my experience sub was worthless as a pain medication. So he may really be in pain. Does he have an organic reason for pain?
Avatar f tn Sarge, Sounds like opiate withdrawal to me. Other symptoms are a runny nose, nausea, restless legs, and watery stools. You are weaning too fast. Please get some medical advice, and to reverse the withdrawal symptoms, go back to the 75ug patch. Opiate induced fatigue and somnolence can be treated with non-amphetamine medications provigil and nuvigil, or with an amphetamine. Personally, I've been using Ritalin for about 14 years now to combat the effects of my pain medications.
1861446 tn?1320445285 Hi ppl. I've been on amphetamine since I was 14. I'm 28 this month. That's half of my life. I've been working hard the past 12 months to gain funding for rehab. I'm curious if anyone else has a similar story to me and even more curious to know whether life can actually feel worth living ever again..
Avatar m tn Adderal is an amphetamine, but it shouldn't test as "meth" in a good drug screen. I happen to have a urine drug screen form right here, you can test "negative". Or positive for cannabinoids, cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, opiates, etc. The amphetamine and meth are two different "check boxes", and you should have tested positive for amphetamine. If you have a prescription in your name that shouldn't be a problem. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I have been in Pain Management now for five years. Gone from Vicodin to Morphine, from Morphine to Spinal Stimulator & Vicodin. With failed stimulator (for what ever reason) back on Morphine and Morphine mg getting higher & higher. I have reciently been placed on Morphine patch. When put on the patch, will your body go through withdrawals symptoms? I dont feel ill in any way, I feel depressed and worthless...
901222 tn?1399142874 Well, long term chronic pain management usually does come with dependence which is not the same as addiction. You do need to be mindful that it can quickly become an issue of addiction and to prevent that I recommend treating your depression. Treating depression helps pain levels. Try to de-isolate and talk to your doctor re: the depression.
