adderall

Avatar f tn Consider this - Since Vyvanse is a stimulant/amphetamine long term use (especially for someone not prescribed) can lead to personality changes, aggressive behavior, homicidal/suicidal thoughts. Chronic users can experience Amphetamine Psychosis - resembles paranoid schizophrenia, delusions, hallucinations, and paranoia. I second M4's suggestion - good advice.
Avatar n tn I always feel tired and kinda dizzy/confused, also i usually slightly shake for no reason since like 14year old especially in little stressful situations also mostly i dont realize or feel it ( essential tremor i believe ).
Avatar n tn it sounds like she has an eating disorder and takes adderall compulsively to keep her appetite away, and it also seems like she may be experiencing amphetamine-induced psychosis, which would explain the paranoia and disconnected thoughts which are unlikely characteristics of someone of her age who's made it to grad school.
Avatar f tn I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
Avatar m tn I'm 18, and currently diagnosed with multiple disorders including bipolar depression, ADD, severe anxiety, OCD, FPP. My conditions were just diagnosed this year although I've had them for nearly all my life. As someone with bipolar disorder, like everyone else with my condition I've been through some (others would say a lot of) drug abuse.
918275 tn?1254068752 Psychosis is a loss of reality testing that can range from delusional to a complete loss of reality but it can be caused by many things. Schizophrenia is a specific psychiatric disability. In it besides psychosis, one has negative symptoms which is a lack of social functioning and ability to understand people and cognitive symptoms which is a loss in ability to process information and understand it. If you want full information obviously go to a clinical site or ask your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn Also be aware that some diseases can also have the same symptoms including SLE and also that habitual drug use, in particular amphetamine abuse can also produce symptoms not unlike bipolar disease in particular pychosis and mania. Trying to diagnose someone else can be hard but if you know someone who you suspect my be bipolar then a doctor is a good starting point.
1965148 tn?1354978634 Psychosis is a symptom and symptoms lead to diagnosis. So usually the psychosis would have to come before the diagnosis. However you can be diagnosed without being psychotic, and then develop psychosis. Psychosis also does not necessarily mean you have bipolar disorder. It is a symptom but you also have to have numerous other symptoms like hypomania or mania, and depression. People can have one psychotic episode and be just fine after that.
Avatar f tn Check out the symptoms re: psychosis, irritability, hallucinations, etc. : http://highpointtreatment.com/chemical-dependency/prescription-drug-abuse/xanax-abuse/ You sound like you're on the fence about whether or not to make a commitment to stop this terrible tapering cycle you're caught in. You've got a lot to live for, my friend & we're never guaranteed another go-round. I've lost a lot of friends to drugs & sometimes wonder why I survived.

Avatar n tn Psychosis isn't brought on by stress; episodes of psychosis are. Best way to tell about the side effects of a drug are to google it. If it's really psychosis and not just a very stressful time, it lasts forever -- as far as I know, there's no known cure to true psychosis, just controlling the symptoms. But that doesn't mean the diagnosis is correct, also doesn't mean it isn't.
Avatar f tn On some forums people say anxiety never lead to psychosis, but on some sites it is said how anxiety is onset for psychosis? So, I'm now scared, becauuse I have anxiety and depression from time to time.
Avatar f tn Hello board. I've had two short periods of "atypical psychosis" and it looks like I've got sleep apnea after a sleep study I just had based on some of what I've been told but I haven't gone over the results yet, they did find something wrong though and are having me go in for testing with the sleep apnea airway mask. Anyway, I've read a brain tumor could be the cause of psychosis.
Avatar f tn the lowering of whatever makes me cautious. Without a stimulant (amphetamine), I am depressed. I am strong willed, but even after 5 months of not taking anything, I still had anxiety and depression. This being said however, not the same anxiety that I experience with Adder all. Kind of, but not. Again, however; the anxiety I face without anything is still not a “normal” human, or “me” type of feeling. Period. It just isn’t.
2010625 tn?1329372056 The sensitive sensory perception is strange it is like the opposite of psychosis in a sense if look at psychosis as loosing touch with reality, for me it was like being so acutely aware of reality, that reality becomes too overwhelming. Does anyone know what this might be? I am very confused about this, as this is not something that is usually associated with bipolar disorder......
Avatar f tn And do you know anything that would treat psychosis besides antipsychotics? Can psychosis be controlled by augmenting mood stabilizers? Can it go away by itself? Can it be that in my future manias I will never reach the level of psychosis? Thank you, I am counting on your personal experiences and advice.
Avatar n tn I'm curious to know if anyone has been prescribed amphetamines to combat the symptoms of fatigue.
Avatar n tn I wondered whether anyone has been through a similar experience? I don’t know if I had an alcohol psychosis or a depressive psychosis? I am thinking that as it took the tranquiliser to cure me my nervous system must have been in overdrive because of alcohol. Sorry for going on & many thanks for reading.
Avatar n tn And the lack of sleep coupled with lack of nutrition set you up for an amphetamine psychosis that will bend your minds. You need a lot of education to even deal with your hubby.......read these posts and read the health pages - - use the archives and search (use search engine) specifically for methamphetamine abuse and read that information. You cannot learn too much about this..........
