Common Questions and Answers about Amphetamine list

Avatar m tn First it started with alcohol, then it moved onto stealing my dad's painkillers, then weed, acid, molly, and most recently snorting perc D-Amphetamine. I wasn't one to take my habits seriously (although I did not do these drugs often besides weed which was nearly every day over the summer) until I went through an opiate OD during the summer which has still been kept secret from my family (along with most all of the drugs I've listed).
Avatar n tn I guess I have a couple questions: Is ephedrine considered an amphetamine? Would a doctor say such? What are some of the long-term effects that could come from long term usage? Over the last 4-5 years(used ephedrine for over a year, previously), I've had some serious side-effects, totally life altering side-effects.
Avatar f tn I began very heavy and daily use of amphetamines about 7 or 8 months ago. when use, i will crush up the amphetamine salts, as well as Adderall XR (which is a much more powerful pharmaseutical). Recently I have been diagnosed with a serious kidney infection. My only problem is that the antibiotics are not working in the manner that they are supposed to. I have been sick for a week and a half, and still have symptoms.
Avatar m tn My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.

It is often found in supplements labeled as containing acacia rigidula, although it does not appear to be a component of this plant. It is not a legal dietary supplement ingredient.

674607 tn?1240020832 Have you spoken to your psychiatrist or doctors about this? Youre on 2 different SNRI anti depressant drugs for one thing.. Puzzling.. Lithium can actually lower blood pressure in some cases, Risperdal does not have it listed as a side effect, Clonazepam lowers blood pressure but Dexedrine can cause hypertension and does - its a common side effect. Its also an amphetamine and a bad idea for most bipolar patients.. Call your doctor ok.
Avatar n tn B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the list goes on. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything. Surely some studies have been done.
Avatar m tn Words and ideas seemed to flow on demand. Now in my 3rd year of college though, every one of the problems I list seems to have worsened drastically. I am EXTREMELY distractible, very, very anxious about my work, it takes me hours to even begin something...forrget about finishing and, with every supplement and energy drink, still cannot find the motivation, clear, succinct thought patterns, focus and mental effort needed to write an essay due last semester.
Avatar f tn The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. When amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug.
1752816 tn?1312183899 My family and I agree that bipolar II is not likely...I am not depressed. The mania and the ADHD seem so similar. I am currently on amphetamine salts for ADHD, Lithium for Bipolar, and Trazadone for sleep and anxiety. I do not want to be on all of this. The amphetamine salts seem to make it hard to sleep and cause the muscle pain in my body to worsen but when I was on it by itself, I didn't have impusivity issues. My family knows that I am not depressed.

Your medical conditions and medication list are complex, and I do not have all the information to make the best recommendation. But, I will provide you the pregnancy category of the meds and specific links to each drug label. Please use the information and work closely with your OBGYN, psychiatrist, and primary care provider as a team.

Avatar n tn Copyman: I couldn't find evidence that small doses of amphetamine cause any harm to the liver. Can you kindly refer me any sources that lead you to believe otherwise. Fretboard: I have Hep C and the fatigue associated with the treatment. I ran across this article which recommends using Ritalin as possible treatment for fatigue:!
Avatar m tn The assistant said 15 is where you begin to get on the transplant list. I asked how sick 20 is. Again very vague but the asst said it can go to 49 or 50. He is mostly in bed, no energy at all. He is on lactulose, spiralactone, 50 mg and 40 mg of Lasix. I’ve heard different prognosis’s from different people. The doctor only said much of the desire has to come from within him. Ok but not very technical.
Avatar n tn I feel really depressed, angry, muscles twitch, i get nervous, confused, anxious, blurry vision, heavy eyes, jaw pain (from grinding I guess), dry mouth and the list goes on and vary every time. I talked to my friends about it and they just says "so stop talking them!!!." Of course I don't need to tell you how easy that sounds. If I don't take them, I get no studying done. My mind just keeps wondering off, I have zero motivation or desire.
773755 tn?1328123377 I skim read at this time of night so i missed one obvious cause. From the list, arrhythmia would seem the most likely. An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat tachycardia (too fast), bradycardia (too slow), premature contraction (too early,) or fibrillation (too irregular). My sister and i were yellow (jaundiced) when we were severely deficient in B12. Along with greyish hair, brown pigmentation, red spider veins, and white spots we were an unenviable colour palette.
Avatar f tn And those who did know what they were had been buying them off the street or on line and usually had a Heroin and Amphetamine habit as well. Plus Coke and MDMA and what ever. But on prescription DHCodine was the nearest thing to what i was taking and i had them anyway, you name it that you can get in the UK at the time it was in my home in big quantities Anyway My DOB on said profile it can't be bloody ''Edited'' but hey!!
4451049 tn?1387157037 I may suggest that you take supplements or herbs but you can buy them elsewhere. (Note the word 'suggest'. Not require. Then if the list of supplements is long----(Ins. co. do not pay for supplements) ask him to pare that list down to the bare minimum and the most important ones." ************************* If you would like to post the name of the 'Lyme' doctor you used I'd be glad to vet her, if I can. Or send me a P.M.
Avatar m tn These are typical side effects froom withdrawls of that type of medication (amphetamine, methylphetamine) or stimulants. If a patient is used to being on a stimulant drug for some time, withdrawing that drug would cause a general slowing down of the body, hence the extreme fatigue, lack of motivation and focus. Your body is going through an increased response of side effects from withdrawl, as you've been of this medication for a year which is why your symptoms may be more exaggerated.
Avatar m tn From the age of 16 till 30, I was a heroin, amphetamine addict; plus every other drug that was going. (Fortunately, the heroin and amphetamine was prescribed by the hospital, so I did not run the many risks of contaminated "street" drugs. So really, I've got off pretty lightly. Forgot to mention: alcohol became a problem for many years after the drugs. But I have abstained for a looong time. Praise God, I never have any desire for drugs or drink anymore. Love and hugs to you all.

Avatar m tn I take Nutrilite Double X (Strong Certified High End Multivitamin), Concentrated Fruits and Vegetables, Omega 3, Joint Health/Vision Health with Lutein. I also have been on 20mg Amphetamine Salts (Adderall) for over 5 years due to ADHD. My HDL was at 48, a bit lower than I want but everything else was good. I used to be overweight when I was younger until 15 years old. I have smoked/drank when I was 15-19 but I have completely stopped for the past year.
Avatar m tn I make a plan for the day the night before and try to accomplish those things on my list..even if it only to get up and shower and make one phone call....before all I did was sleep 24/7 I couldnt even think about felt so the list helps motivate me some. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER PYSCHIATRIST AND GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! But do NOT go to the same group or practice in which the doctors work together...they will not disagree with another doctor if they work together....
Avatar n tn They're a controlled substance, so yes, it's illegal if you don't have a prescription. They probably check for THC, cocaine, amphetamine, benzos (which Valium is one), opiates... through a urine or blood sample, although some use hair.
Avatar n tn Provigil was intended for narcolepsy and to keep people awake. Its most certainly not an amphetamine and not addictive but does make some people feel overly active ("speeded up"). But if people find their medications intolerable or that they don't work find out about more anti-depressents and mood stabilizers used experimentally but FDA approved for other purposes. Google "Depression Central" and this has a list as well: http://www.psycheducation.
