My almost 9 month puppy has high ALT Liver scores (500 range) I had a ultrasound done very recently & everything came back normal. The vet put him on Clavamox for 14 days & afterwards will re-test. I heard that Clavamox can make his ALT Levels increase not decrease? Is this true?
I think I just screwed up. I gave my dog Clavamox that was NOT refrigerated. Is he going to be ill???
I left Clavamox out yesterday for about 8 hours. My house was room temp. I have been checking up online some sites say that if the med. has not turned colors it will be fine. It is still white. Hello & welcome to the forum......Since the Antibiotics don't seem to be effective, I'm thinking this sounds more like "Kennel Cough" Or "Canine Influenza" which are both Viruses.....They have a lot of the same symptoms, but Kennel cough is the one most commonly diagnosed.....
Each of these viruses can last up to anywhere from 2-4 weeks..... A Month is Common.....Both of these can also turn into Pneumonia....

I sure hope that you have enough clavamox to last 10 days. I really believe that your cat has an abscess and has an infection. He probably got bitten in the leg by the other cat, which caused it. To be honest, if your cat is favoring one leg, then the other leg hurts him too much to walk on it. It's possible that your cat is in pain. I really hope that you have enough clavamox, your cat needs it!
How can I stop my cat from vomiting? She is taking Clavamox drops and was vomiting after each use. I spoke to her Vet and was told that I should give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait for 20 minutes and then give her Clavamox. The vet prescribes antibiotics, say, Clavamox (Amoxicillin) If that doesn’t work, then your vet prescribes another antibiotic. I was hoping, while I was reading your post, that you would tell us that the only symptom was sneezing. For your kitty’s URI, you need to go back to the vet see if they can give you something else. If ‘something else’ does not work, then it can potentially be a virus. Viruses do not go away with antibiotics.
The colitis is probably unrelated and coincidental to the urinary tract infection, but could be secondary to the Clavamox. Clavamox can cause diarrhea, but usually not bloody diarrhea. Colitis is relatively common in dogs and usually highly treatable.
If your dog has anemia, or thrombocytopenia, it can cause increased bleeding from the bladder and rectum, (and also nose bleeds). This can be checked by CBC blood test.
The Pancreatitis could have been caused separately, or it could be a side eddect of the Clavamox. But as she tolerated Clavamox well before, with no problems (how long ago?) -it may be that some dietary issue might be behind the pancreatitis.

See if you can get the cat to a vet or a humane association for a checkup.
Hi. I'm still being treated with antibiotics for a clinical diagnosis of Lyme disease. I'm just wondering if there are others out there who experience a large amount of tingling and numbness in hands, feet, face, scalp and sometimes even my tongue. I don't have any pain in my joints, it all seems to be neurological. I also have a lot of pressure in my head and dizziness/lightheadedness. It's as though I can't move my head fast or I'll have an "off" feeling.

We went to see sm ENT after a round of amoxicillin gave no relief. She has a swollen tonsil on the right side that the ENT said was hard. She said the rest of the exam appeared normal but biopsied the hard spot, cutting a large chunk of tonsil out. It has been 6 days since the biopsy and we get results tomorrow. The PA for the ENT said maybe a tonsil stone, maybe tonsil cancer. She said she saw no signs of infection. When biopsied, we could see a large white spot.

Well, surprise, surprise the nail was infected within the week. After amoxicillin ran out we put her on Clavamox. Anti-biotics for 3 weeks, and still infected. I finally took my dog to my previous Vet who gave me Cephalexin anti-biotic, and told me to soak her toenail in a hot/warm Epson Salt solution twice a day- 1 cup of Epson Salt : 1 cup hot/warm water. That Epson Salt totally did the trick- dried it right out within 1 week.
