1090937 tn?1259215095 It may be due to mainly the fact that the child is in less pain and thus is catching up on lost or disturbed sleep. However watch out for rash and loose stool, which are the commonest side effects. If the child remains sleepy even after 24-48 hours consult the doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn t help but feel that there is a lot of missing information out there about possible side effects. Has anyone else experienced anything like this lately?
702036 tn?1259539116 No, amoxicillin will not effect the outcome of your treatment. If you have an infection, you should take it as long as you are not allergic to penicillin derivatives. Your liver will be fine. I was on very high powered antibiotics twice and still UND.
Avatar n tn Allergic reactions to antibiotics do not typically manifest as dizziness or fogginess, but rather rash, itching, angioedema (swelling of the mouth, and in severe cases the airway). Corticosteroids can lead to several side effects including a sense of fogginess (and in others a sense of euphoria/insomnia), typically high rather than low blood pressure, and other side effects (even one dose of high doses of steroids can lead to acute confusion in older adults).
Avatar f tn I have to go to school and drive many places, and having dizzy spells and nausea concern me. I took amoxicillin this past year with no side effects. No nausea or anything. Does that mean that this antibiotic will possibly be the same way? I take my first dose tonight and I don't want to wake up and take it, only to have to miss school again because I cant get to school due to the dizziness and nausea.
Avatar f tn Do the new drugs come with their own side effects besides the ones that soc come with? Not sure if I asked that right, I'm still waiting for everything to come together but if the new meds come with even worse side effects than one might already get maybe that's another reason to treat now.
Avatar f tn My Daughter took amoxicillin for 1 week for an ear infection. She woke up the day after her final dose with a Rash over her entire body. By day three they had turned into big swollen welts. It did not seem to itch or bother her but I took her to the doctor and they said it was just a side effect from the medication and should disapear in 4-5 days. Well it has now been a week and the spots are still there.
Avatar m tn anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
1089121 tn?1256818742 oh yes these are some of the wounderful side effects of tx,do check with your dr.about your hives to make sure its not a reaction but my dr. put me on tiamcinolone cream for the rash,it does tin to help.
293157 tn?1285873439 I looked at the side effects listed for gabapentin, and didn't see hives listed on the sites that I checked. Is there anything else that could be causing this rash/hives? New laundry soap or body wash? Eating something new? Sometimes when the heat is just turned on again, you have to deal with dust, mold, pet dander, or pollen, etc. that could have been in the heater, if it wasn't totally cleaned when turned back on, depending on what kind of heat you have.
Avatar f tn s office and asked about these symptoms, the nurse stated the doctor said these were not normal side effects. How do I get my Oncologist to see that I am having these problems and to treat them?
Avatar m tn Welcome to MedHelp -- It's a good question you are asking -- and we can give you some comments, but the best thing to do would be to take your baby to an MD who specializes in Lyme disease for an evaluation. Many docs think they are experts in Lyme, but there is a split in the medical community that makes it difficult sometimes to find a Lyme doc with an open mind. No one here is medically trained, so this is just unofficial commentary.
Avatar m tn Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); change in the amount of urine produced; dark, tarry, or bloody stools; dizziness; fast or irregular heartbeat; feeling cold, especially in the hands or feet; fever, chills, or sore throat; joint pain (especially in the big toe); mouth sores or ulcers; pale skin; rash (with or without itching); red or irritated eyes; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling s
Avatar f tn s still there. I thought at first it was the Amoxicillin, but I finished that about a week ago, and the rash is still there. Could the rash be from Prevacid?
Avatar f tn The half life amoxcillin is pretty short. Honestly, it would be way way out of her system after a week from her final dose. I'd say that the vomiting isn't related. Rash is a side effect of pen. antibiotics but am wondering if perhaps she has picked up another virus???? I'd call the doc to check out a rash lasting a week after amox. usage.
Avatar m tn These antibiotics cause the least liver damage and only patients who are allergic may experience some side effects. Generally, antibiotics in the penicillin family are the most “liver friendly” and safe for chronic hepatitis patients to use. But this website: http://www.hepcnet.net/drugsandliverdamage.html Drugs that may cause CHOLESTATIC JAUNDICE actinomycin D chlorpropamide erythromycin amoxicillin/clavulanate The advice is to read the label information carefully. Short term use is fine.
Avatar n tn Hi, I've had a rash on my torso now for months and after ignoring it for a long long time have finally gotten fed up and am ready to get rid of it. One problem. I don't know what it is. It is constant on my stomach, slightly below my armpits, wraps around below my armpits to a little on the outter part of my upper back, a little thin patch on my lower back and then tiny spots on the inside of my elbows.
Avatar f tn After taking 3 doses of the amoxicillin she broke out in Hives on her hands, legs, and feet. She was taken off the amoxicillin but the rash has now continued for a week now. It will appear and last about 5 minutes and then it is gone. It almost looks like blisters coming up on her feet. I took her to the doctor again today (1 week later) and they told me that she has erytherma multiforme caused from the amoxicillin.
