Hi I once developed this really badly with Amoxicillin after I had been ski-ing in the sun. My face was the only place affected due to sun exposure. I was informed I was allergic to this drug but have had it since and as long as I stay out of sun am ok---------strange things happen.
My wife and 4 year old daughter and I leave for the beach on Friday for a week. My Dr. gave me amoxicillin and also prescribed it for my wife and daughter. He suggested that they start it just in case since we are all traveling for a week. He said to start them on it now as a preventative. Should I do this? What about sun exposure and exercise with this drug? My daughter had never taken antibiotics before either.

For over the past two weeks, I have had a flat, red rash that appears like a sunburn on my face and particulary the neck. When I am in the sun or heat, it increases in itchiness and burning. A few days before the rash started, I had finished my second five-day course of 750mg Amoxicillin for dental work. Also, a few days (3 or 4) before the rash started, I had a very brief (3 seconds or so) unprotected oral sex exposure of which I was the recipient (I am male, received from female).
Absolutely! Just keep hydrated and don't get too hot although if its only 30 degrees(that's freezing to me lol I'm from fl) I doubt you'll have that problem!
Amoxicillin in the best sort of penicillin treatment to use during the first tri...bc its not harmful...example: for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy they, treat it in the first tri with amoxicillin if it were found later on like second or third tri theyd prescribe a stronger antibiotic!
So I caught a bacteria on my throat last month and was prescribed with Amoxicillin. It got rid of the infection, but then right after my tonsils from inside my throat was swollen and was taking Prednisone. It went away. I felt better and now I have it again. A bacteria on my tonsils and I found out I am getting it from my filthy fan. This time the doctor gave me Clindamycin.
The rash improved a bit, but began prickling in the heat/sun the next day, and spread to my thighs. The next day, it appeared on my knees and feet, although the rash on my feet was sort of a pinkish blotch (about 2" across), with a redder outline.
I went to a different doctor, who took a look at my throat (now severely inflamed/infected, tonsils *****), swollen lymph nodes, and rash, and told me that I had scarlet fever. He didn't perform any tests, but prescribed amoxicillin.
On Nov.14,2011,I had my semi-annual teethcleaning. I was given Amoxicillin 2 Grams by mouth before the cleaning . My dentist recommended that I have a dead,cracked tooth extracted.Prior to my appointment with the oral surgeon, I took Amoxicillin 500mg 3x/day for 1 week. So on Nov.28,2011 I had that premolar extracted. No problems with procedure.I fly to Los Angeles and Phoenix for the x-mas holidays.
I dont think that amoxicillin is the reason. By the way green stool in babies is almost normal and it might be because of fast movement of the stool in the bowel that it has no enough time to turn brown. Stools in origin are geen because of the bile secreted in it but in the bowel it turns brown. So it might be because he didnt eat enough the past days but be careful that he has no diarrhea. and if this persist u may contact his doctor.
can you take amoxicillin if it exspired in january of 2009, i dont have insurance and had a few left over from my teeth and need to take them if i can. could someone please help me with this?
You should do this anyway whenever you take an antibiotic to replenish as much as you can of the beneficial organisms that are killed off, and keep taking it for at least a few months following the cessation of your antibiotic regimen. In the future, unless you absolutely need it, don't take antibiotics -- they're way overprescribed, so sometimes they're absolutely necessary but many times they aren't even useful, such as for viruses.

So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?
