I have had a chronic ear infection in my right ear since I was 2. I had tubes put in my ear and after being on oral medication for 3 years my mom requested I be taken off them because they didn't appear to be working. Between ages of 7 and 18 I had 3 surgeries to clean the ear and a fourth surgery to remove 3 bones and the ear drum.
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?
Idk about the ear drops, but amoxicillin is definitely safe. I had amoxicillin in my previous pregnancy for boils. Check with your ob/gyn about the ear drops.
I have been taking a course of amoxicillin for this ear infection. They seem to be working as symptoms are progressively going away but I am getting very light headed and dizzy off them. Is it the amoxicillin doing this ?
