, For over the past two weeks, I have had a flat, red rash that appears like a sunburn on my face and particulary the neck. When I am in the sun or heat, it increases in itchiness and burning. A few days before the rash started, I had finished my second five-day course of 750mg Amoxicillin for dental work. Also, a few days (3 or 4) before the rash started, I had a very brief (3 seconds or so) unprotected oral sex exposure of which I was the recipient (I am male, received from female).

My face was the only place affected due to sun exposure. I was informed I was allergic to this drug but have had it since and as long as I stay out of sun am ok---------strange things happen.

perscribed me amoxicillin. i went home and started that night. the next morning and throughout the day i got what looked to be hives. big red welts with extreme itching all over my legs and ocasionally 1 or 2 on my wrist. went back to the doctor and he said that it was from the antibiotic and took me off of it and gave me benedryl and a z pack. i started feeling better in a few days, soar throat went away and hives dissapated after about 4 to 5 days. i never had a fever.

actually sun is very beneficial to both you and baby, you need around 20 min of exposure to the sun everyday on your arms and legs, a little more if your dark skinned, your body gets its vitamin D from being exposed to the sun, otherwise you risk having vit D deficiency which isnt good, and you end up by having to take suppliments, just be sure that you dont go out in the hottest part of the day and if you do put on sunscreen :)

A couple of days after the occurance my friend (in medical school) gave me 3 Amoxicillin pills of 500mg. I took two one day and then another day took one. At about a week after exposure,, my friend gave me more of the same Amoxicillin 500mg pills. I took them every 8 hours until I ran out. I had 7 pills. I am really worried about Stds. It is possible that you have/had sun poisioning. Any antibiotics will add to the harsh exposure of the sun. That is why they tell you to try to avoid the sun if you can or use a high level of sunscreen if you are out in the sun. If you are not feeling better soon, you should see your doctor. Please be careful while in the sun while on these medications. It can cause some major symptoms not to mention the higher risk of sun burn. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi I meant to say that I dint remember exact date of exposure. First I had unprotected oral sex exposure on 6th Dec2013, then protected intercourse on midlle of dec somewhat but don't remember. So now , as u said above I am on amoxicillin + Ciprofloxacin from last 8 days now (for bacterial diagnosed on my penis) . Now, I want to re-test for all STD's .
