An allergic reaction to amoxicillin (and then all penicillin based meds would be included) is sudden and intense and can quickly become life threatening.
Rash is listed as a side effect to this antibiotic. Call the doctor but it is highly unlikely that it is an allergic reaction but a side effect. And it doesn't mean your child will get it every time they take amoxicillin or drugs of the penicillin class. good luck!!
I don't know about augmentin, but amoxicillin has skin rashes listed as a side effect.
I had unprotected exposure in Dec 2013, but all tests are negative except bacterial infection on penis. And also I was on antibiotics from last 10 days amoxicillin+Ciprofloxacin from 22_31 March , Just after 2 day of finishing prescription I developed these rashes. Please help me can it be any STD, I just feel very mild burning,irritation only.
It did not seem to itch or bother her but I took her to the doctor and they said it was just a side effect from the medication and should disapear in 4-5 days. Well it has now been a week and the spots are still there. And she woke up 2 nights ago because she had thrown up but went right back to sleep and hasn't had any problmes and felt great. But then she threw up this morning.
What's the earliest anyone has experienced symptoms? Overall pain (hit by a train), overwhelming fatigue, stiff neck, low grade fever? I was bit 3 times - have 2 rashes.They are all in the same area on my back and I didn't know they were there until my husband saw the rashes and one tick. Dr says it looks like 2 ticks were involved. If so, one got away on its own. I was on doxycycline but had an allergic reaction so I'm now on amoxicillin.

All the symptoms that your daughter is having are clearly a sign of doxycycline allergy.Doxycycline is not related to amoxicillin and sulfa drugs as it belongs to a different category of drugs(tetracyclines).Side effects of doxycycline are headache, dizziness, blurred vision, body aches, flu symptoms,skin rashes,chest tightness,respiratory difficulty,nausea,vomiting etc.

my daughter tends to break out at random (she is 2) but the rashes / hives goes away after a couple of hours. We still have no idea what the allergy is.
Now she was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday, she didn't see her normal doctor because her normal doctor was out of town, which is fine, I know the other doctor.

I took her to the doctor again today (1 week later) and they told me that she has erytherma multiforme caused from the amoxicillin. Can anyone tell me if the amoxicillin was the cause to this and how long it will last? Do you think it could be something else?

I took it at night, and woke up in the morning with a throat feeling slightly better, but with rashes on my feet (around where the previous blotch had been---that area is now clear), on my hands (both the backs and the palms; red dots that aren't raised and are about 1-2mm, coming together to form red patches where some of my fingers meet my palm), around my shoulders, and on my upper back.
The rash is odd because it is fairly localized and comes and goes sporadically. As a nurse myself, I knew it was not an allergic reaction to the antibiotic but agreed to be switched to another antibiotic. Needless to say that did little to help with the rash. I consulted with an infectious disease doctor who did not seem interested in my 'itch' symptom and chalked it up to a reaction to the antibiotic.
A week later I had pain on the left abdominal kidney region. I was diagnosed with Renal Colic and was advised to take 6 Amoxicillin Tablets daily. Post medication I developed Diarreah which forced me into anxiety regards to HIV infection.I also got the symptoms like stiff neck, fatigue and loss of appettite. I could only eat whenever I could relax and also could not sleep at night.
After three days, I stopped taking amoxicillin caps and the sensation of frequency of urination remitted a little.
Btw, I found that on my penis near the urethral orifice there are a few small rashes or spots. The same color as skin, neither painful nor itching. I don't know if it is balanoposthitis symptoms?
I'm worrying about if I could get STDs or other disease from that activity? What should I do if I want to have a testing and how many days should I wait for?
I found skin irritation and rashes on my palm and feet so I went to see the doctor and he said these could be caused by Curam antibiotics, so I stop taking these 3 medicine...but the rashes are still there. Now I start to get very worried these are related to syphilis or even hiv because of fever then rashes. The light sore throat does not go away. If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.

Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.
My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?

I DO NOT HAVE rashes, fever, swollen testicles, difficulty in urinating, pain while urinating, and blood in the urine.. I DON'T HAVE those THINGS. I dont know what it is. She had an ear infection and has been on amoxicillin for the last week and half and had no problems with it. There has been no change in anything that we use in our home. She has been inside due to her ear infection. My situation: Had oral sex with a man 110 days ago. He did ejaculate in my mouth. Two weeks later, I became sick - flu like. I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
