Avatar n tn The ascitescan cause (SP) perionditus, just like a ruptured appecicts. The itching is fron the jaundice but could also be from ammonia build up which can settle in your brain encepholitis and can end up permanent brain damage and death. You need to have your abdomen tapped and the ascites drained. You should be on lactalose for the ammonia, B-Complex for the jaundice,at least Spironilacto and probably Lasix and pottasium for the swelling and edema. I think you should be in the hospital!!!!

408795 tn?1324939275 I know that with telaprevir, if you are a geno 1b, the resistance if you don't clear, is very weak. It takes about 2 years and geno 1b patients can use the drug again like when the protease and poolymerase are combined, without interferon. I wonder if it is the same with Boceprevir? This is the first thing that has ever been better for us genotype 1b's.

Avatar f tn With the blood transfusion they gave him it cleaned all the toxins from his blood but it likely that the ammonia and manganese will be present soon enough and you will find out how it effects his brain giving him Hepatic Encephalopathy (causing the confusion and memory problems along with many more symptoms). Not all cirrhotic patients are effect by the toxins and again this is unknown. This not curable without transplant but in many cases it is manageable. Such as mine.
Avatar n tn :It don't matter but try to get him active . IT WILL HELP!!
Avatar n tn All those memory and concentration problems sound like classic 'hepatic encephalopathy' and is really quite common since its just a chemical thing--too much ammonia caused 'fuzzy thinking.' Dairy converts to ammonia in the small intestines immediately!
1548538 tn?1293875433 I found this website through a google for "sand on scalp", and I found a journal entry from someone here at that I wanted to draw attention to on this forum. Everyone on that journal suffers form the same issue I do. For the past two years, I have what feel and appear to be like grains of sand on my scalp.
2094297 tn?1345392693 Believe me, I understand worry but the thing is you truly do not have enough factual data to base any conclusions or make any outcome-based decisions. It is extremely likely much (if not all) of these things are manageable so try and let yourself take a break on assuming the worst. Four years ago is not all that long and it's possible your liver may still be in fairly mild condition. I am very glad your appointment to see a specialist is next week - I hope you mean liver specialist.
Avatar m tn The other possibility is Morgellons disease often mimics scabies. The disease is believed to be caused by weak immune systems in people that have contracted the tick-borne Lyme Disease at some point in their life. It can also be a fungal infection like Tinea corporis. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I tried back in Februrary and my daughter came down with ammonia (on my second day clean) and ending up being airflighted to Childrens Hospital. Almost died, in hospital for 2 weeks. So here I am sitting in a hospital trying to deal and taking pills the whole time. Sad. Even then, I kept pushing the date back- tomorrow, next week, after her birthday. I finally had enough and just did it. I had enough. This is your time to say- "I have had enough.
Avatar m tn if u do thats great, at least if successful or not u are giving ur liver a chance to rest and re-generate overall.. so overall its base on the personal individual and there physician, we arent Dr's here.. we are just giving our own experience... i did relapse and i will try again down the road, its not a death sentence if u are 2 or 4 or whatever.. just trust ur physician and and GOD as ur comfort..
Avatar n tn I was sweating so badly and I just rested my head on the bathroom wall because I was so weak. I hope there is a cure for this some how, but it doesn't happen that often.
Avatar m tn One thing I think a lot of you are missing that's important. YOU are the host, @LGAMMA1 mentioned how they are so small you need a good microscope to see them. Now, if that's true, are they not small enough to enter your pours? How small must their eggs be? The eggs, the parasite, it's using your body as it's host. 90% of them in your environment are "hatched" from your body. When you move several times and get rid of everything this quickly become obvious.
Avatar f tn 1) I make a base using Triple antibiotic ointment, mostly because it is the consistency of vaseline and I don't have any vaseline. Any really thick ointment will work. Squirt a 2 inch blob or so into into a small dish. (smothers the eggs which require oxygen; also smothers their parents) 2) Add 4 or 5 drops of clove oil. (kills the eggs) 3) Add 3 or 4 drops of iodine. (kills the eggs) 4) Add a few drops of Neem oil.
Avatar f tn Just read that your base weight is "normal". I think if that's the case, then I doubt that's a factor, just as CharlieGirl suggested. No worries, it'll all work out.
1932256 tn?1327949940 He's 35 years old but I swear when I look at him now, he looks 65! Thin, weak, pale, dark circles under his eyes. It's a hard thing to watch. He's still my "baby" and he looks older than me! The only support I'm getting is from you and others in this forum. I think I would have already lost my mind if I hadn't found you guys! I really was afraid he was dying until I stumbled onto this site and now I know it's the hell he has to go thru to get off this stuff.

211940 tn?1267884866 I'm with you smgkim .And I too wish someone had better news. But here's my story. It's sorta long but am wondering if any previous conditions tie into this one. I am a 56 yr young female. Who is a Christian and loves the Lord. Before all this occurred and even after some what enjoyed living, traveling, dancing, gardening, being with friends and family to the fullest. But now I do as much as I can do.
