s a good question, and I understand where you are going with the question, but the medical treatment for angina is usually a nitrate that specifically dilates the coronary vessels. My understanding of nitrate medication one can develop a tolerance with continued useage without an interuption. I only take a nitrate 3 times a week without any problems so I can't verify by personal experience.

I'm not sure if this is the best forum, but it seems the closest fit. I'm a 30 year old British guy, 5'11", 175lbs. At the moment I'm working overseas, and likely to be doing so for at least the next 6 months.
For a few weeks now I've been noticing wafts of what I can only describe as the smell of Ammonia. I cant be sure where the smell is coming from - it's quite obvious if I breath in really deep through my nose a few times.
It could be a respiratory problem that causes shortness of breath and chest pains. The treatment of a nitrate medication should eliminate chest pain if it is a heart issue (angina). There could be restenosis stent implant site; another occluded vessel.
If the inhaler resolves the problem, that may be evidence of a respiratory problem.
Didn't the stress test indicate the degree of impairment related to shortness of breath?

We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood.

So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. He does not eat much as his taste buds are totally out of wack. Most foods taste very salty.
