Common Questions and Answers about Ammonia uses humans

ammonia

Avatar f tn High concentrations are really dangerous, but low concentrations could be tolerated by other humans. You can have a blood test to check the levels of ammonia in your blood, but I’ve not got round to investigating it yet. I’m convinced it’s a gas or a toxin linked to one of our bio-chemical body reactions. One day it will all make sense.
7986870 tn?1401635716 My doctor told me most brands are safe as long as you are in a well ventilated area .
1446046 tn?1284513137 t run across this particular problem myself, I can tell you a few ideas that are associated with us humans. sweet smelly breath....diabetes(is kitty drinking alot?) ammonia....renal problems....ie:failure sinus infection cavities or gum infection. it would be a real good idea to have your Vet check for all these problems.
Avatar f tn s OK as long as he place is well ventilated.. My hair stylist uses products that are ammonia free so that makes a huge difference.. I just don't like having to sit back with my head tilted for a long time..I actually get up and walk while I wait for the color to process.. Although I do not bleach my hair anymore either.. Hope this helps..
Avatar f tn I did it during my pregnancy I think your fine they said it was bad if there was ammonia in it but they don't use ammonia is hair dye anymore
3990971 tn?1348946305 If you are on city water, find out what they add to your water. Just chlorine, or ammonia too? Get a filter that filters out whichever they add. The ammonia (chloramine) stuff takes a special filter.
Avatar f tn I was very sick about a month ago and my ammonia level had gone up to twice what is normal. The dr always tells me that my liver enzymes are good. I want to know what stage I am in and what damage is done to my liver. I heard that your enzymes can be fine but damage is still happening. I asked about a biopsy and he said they don't do that anymore. This is the Veterans Administration Doctors. He said it was not just the VA that stopped doing them.
5002615 tn?1366014009 ve got my hair done many times while being pregnant and my dr. Says its fine. My hair stylist uses ammonia free hair dye.
Avatar f tn I have watched his diet no salt, fresh veggies and fruit, he uses honey for sugar and olive oil for butter. The local hospitals here in W Palm Beach said it is to dangerous for them to a biopsy because of his platelets-they tried to increase them but couldn't. I know he is angry because I just started treatments, first shot last week. He is driving me crazy with his attitude, he doesn't think he has one. He forgets and he is mean. I feel bad because, he has noone else to help him.
Avatar n tn I'm getting blonde peekaboos. my hair stylist uses ammonia free die and my dr.
Avatar f tn just avoid henna dyes and make sure your hairstylists (or you) uses ammonia-free dyes as well...both of those absorb into the blood stream more readily than other dyes and are obviously best avoided during pregnancy :-). And as long as the salon is well-ventilated, shouldn't be an issue. Other than that, go for it! I've dyed my hair with 2 of my 3 pregnancies with no problems...it can really give you a pick-me-up in those mid-pregnancy blahs!
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I work in a paint department. I mix colors and clean up paint pretty much. Since I've worked there we have always used glass cleaner to clean the paint off the desk and our hands. I didnt know this until today but the cleaner we use has ammonia in it. I've been using it every day for a few months to get the paint off of my hands. Could it have hurt my baby?
Avatar n tn We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood. But by the time we had his blood checked his levels were right smack in the middle of the range. Doctor said he was fine. So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. He does not eat much as his taste buds are totally out of wack. Most foods taste very salty.
Avatar f tn I recently found out I had high ammonia, it was 66, I am taking lactalose and it is is now normal. All my blood work is within normal ranges on my liver function test and I also had a sonogram, have a mild fatty liver. Was wondering what could have caused this. I do drink a few beers a night.
Avatar f tn hdv is not a virus, it is a hbv parassite, it uses hbsag antigen from hbv, it doesn t have a surface antigen it does have to be worried but as long as he monitors liver by fibroscan and takes antioxidants or hepatitistechnologies products it wont develop liver damage hdv is a plants virus he can infect only people infected by hbv (those with lmivudine mutants have mutated hbsag so they can t be infected by hdv).
Avatar n tn Patients with liver disease are unable to process or detoxify ammonia so that ammonia levels can reach dangerously high levels. This is coupled by increased ammonia production of colonic bacteria, especially if one is constipated or has an irregular bowel movement. High protein intake can also lead to an incresed ammonia production. I suggest you talk about these possibilities with your doctors.
Avatar n tn My 1 1/2 year old 50 lb female standard poodle has had her urine smelling like fish but some times like ammonia. She acts fine, eats and drinks well. The last few weeks she can't make it through the night with out urinating on the floor. Now she can't make it for a few hours during the day with out going on the floor. I have been giving her a homeopathic remedie for urinary tract infection along with a detoxifier twice daily.
190885 tn?1333025891 I am assuming you have cirrhosis? (I have a list of cirrhotics but I know it doesn't include everyone with cirrhosis here). Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) and brain fog are two different conditions. "Brain fog" has nothing to do with ammonia levels. Most ammonia in the body forms when protein is broken down by bacteria in the intestines. The liver normally converts ammonia into urea, which is then eliminated in urine.
Avatar m tn Ammonia odor can be associated with H. pylori. Ammonia can also be associated with urine and fecal material and not due to H. pylori.
Avatar f tn Seems that the sooner they get him on the list, the less $$ it would cost them and the better chance he has to survive longer. He is getting so weak and has a lot of ammonia in his system which gives him the shakes real bad, slurring, and loosing his balance. They have now given him a new medicine which has helped somewhat. A co-worker of his went to China for a kidney transplant and total cost including air/hotel for spouse, etc was $15K. This seems incredible to hear.
Avatar n tn Yes it does. High levels of ammonia cause hepatic encephalopathy which in turn can cause confusion, sleepiness and forgetfulness. There are medications to help lower those levels. Speak to your hep doc.
