Alinia will wipe your intestinal bacteria and the probiotic will replace it. Overall several key pathways leading to activation of fibrosis will be blocked/reduced in their activity, which will build to a synergistic effect over time.
Avatar f tn I am also wondering in advanced cirrohsis will the lactolose eventually be uneffective in bringing down the ammonia levels? My final question is what kind of life expectancy is there when the cirrohsis reaches the level that she is at?
1008841 tn?1293598960 The malnourishment and toxicity from the compounds in the tap water, cumulatively build and eventually manifests in symptoms of disease. Avatar n tn Urine is high in nitrates, compounds high in nitrogen and oxygen. Ammonia is made up of nitrogen and hydrogen. (NH3) What you are smelling is the high concentration of bonded nitrogen. Normally, diluted urine doesn't have much odor. If you're dehydrated and your urine becomes highly concentrated, it can have a strong ammonia smell.

While we talk about high ammonia levels, it is in conjunction with Hep C and the liver problems from there. yOu might want to make sure the Dr did a Hep C Antibody these to make sure she doesn't have it then go to the list of Communities ( touch Communities at the top of the thread) and find the health and wellness site for more assistance. Good luck and Blessings to you both.

Avatar m tn Hi there, Vitamin B-6 is essential for maintaining healthy nerves and muscle cells and is useful in the production of DNA and RNA. Vitamin B6 dietary allowance is 2 mg and toxicity may occur on taking 100 mg daily.Headaches, mood changes, severe fatigue, nerve damage are few common side effects reported. There is no prescribed treatment for vitamin b6 toxicity. You may limit the intake of foods and supplements rich in this vitamin to overcome the condition.
1481758 tn?1287638643 I think the majority of ammonia in the blood comes from bacteria in the intestines which break down foods we are unable to, or the left overs. The ammonia should be converted by the Liver into Urea. So, I assume the problem would be to do with Liver function.
Avatar n tn I thought she had a stroke but the doctors are saying it is because her ammonia level in her liver is 178. It comes down but goes back up and she is not getting any better. She has been seen by GI, Neroligist, Cancer doctors and noone can tell me what is happening. She has been tested for hepatis and it was negative. Can you give any advice?
Avatar f tn This vitamin helps with the development of healthy blood cells, nerve cells, and proteins in the body. It also helps with the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. Avatar f tn A friend who is a nurse told me that the B6 would be in my nerves or fat cells and so measuring my blood was not a good measure, anyway. The only things which have helped me are: 1) Time 2) Avoiding foods high in B6 (flax, soy, potatoes, bananas) 3) Digestive Enzymes with food that's high in B6 (Nature's Plus, I get them from VitaCost.
Avatar n tn Just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one that had hair loss with b6 toxicity. In my opinion, the word needs to get out to the public that high dose b complexes should NOT be taken....ever.

Avatar f tn never had ammonia tested previously. estimated contracted virus in approx 1975, needle sharing in NV or CO. genotype 4c/4d, turning 57 this year. grade 0 stage 1 on biopsy in 2001. concerned about progression, possible indicators besides biopsy. I suppose a current biopsy is required to seriously consider treatment.
