I asked my Doctor and she says I can eat King crab legs once a week because crab less is the lowest in mercury, only 0.06 in them so is very safe to eat but she says eat them only once a week because even tho is very little on mercury eating them everyday can add up so is no smart to eat them daily. ve been having so much seafood cravings since being pregnant! Crab is definitely okay. Just try to stick to the normal stuff. Crab, lobster, shrimp, salmon. Nothing raw or exotic.

I was taking Nature Throid but discontinued because of a weird side effect- strong ammonia-smelling sweat while exercising. Has anyone heard of that before? I was concerned about my kidneys... And had to wash exercise clothes several time to get rid of the smell. What would cause this?

I use it sometimes to sterilize pots, but the smell is strong...ammonia also has a nasty smell... I can add vinegar to the list of noxious smelling stuff to drive me out of the house.... King Mackerel. I eat shelled fish (Shrimp, Clams, Lobster, King Crab) a few times a week. No problems my last 2 pregnancies. You should be on, just let your Dr know what and how much you've been consuming.

I've noticed that from time to time, but becoming more frequent, my urine has a strong ammonia smell. The color is fairly normal - clear to golden - but the smell is there! Things like shrimp and crab are fine. When it comes to fish you have to limit certain types or not eat them at all (like shark but idk who really eats that? Lol) my doctor just told me to think of it as "the bigger the fish, the more mercury its body will hold" so definitely limit tuna!

Dear Sir, I'm not sure if this is the best forum, but it seems the closest fit. I'm a 30 year old British guy, 5'11", 175lbs. At the moment I'm working overseas, and likely to be doing so for at least the next 6 months. For a few weeks now I've been noticing wafts of what I can only describe as the smell of Ammonia. I cant be sure where the smell is coming from - it's quite obvious if I breath in really deep through my nose a few times.
