Common Questions and Answers about Ammonia jobs

ammonia

Avatar f tn Cleared hepC last October with Sovaldi. My ammonia level is 89. ALT and SGOT are around 100. Am taking Miralax TID.Taking opiods and meds, blood pressure meds, depression (Lexapro) and Klonopin for anxiety. I'm seeing a GI doctor. Have gastritis, esophogitis, an slighly enlarged spleen. Any advice? And who is a good transplant doctor in Memphis? I woke twice last night with an intense smell of anesthesia in my nose. I didn't imagine or dream it. It continued long after I woke up.
Avatar n tn Lisa, One of the jobs that the liver does is to rid the body of ammonia (convert it into a waste product and get rid of it). Normal serum ammonia levels are 10-80 ug/dl. When the liver can't get rid of ammonia the way it should, ammonia levels get high. This can affect the brain. (It's called encephalopathy or hepatic encephalopathy). It's usually treated with Lactulose or Enulose (a liquid laxative that binds with ammonia molecules and removes them from the body).
Avatar n tn I did use ammonia free you can buy it at cvs n such.
4043517 tn?1374010173 First get my bowels working and my ammonia down. I'm out for a few weeks right before Xmas, that figures.
Avatar f tn It is safe just use a ammonia free color. May want to wait after the first trimester due to hormones being out of whack (usually in the second trimester it levels out) also just be warned because of hormone change color may not take, may show as a slight different color then attended, may not last as long, and also may cause your scalp to itch more (due to being more sensitive)! Also do it in a well ventilated area the smell may make your stomach turn!
Avatar f tn I'm a hairdresser, so dye jobs are an every day thing for me, and my doctor said I was completely safe doing my job, so if I can do it almost daily, it should be fine for just about anybody. To be extra careful, try to get the hair dye that's ammonia free.
Avatar f tn I do. I use ammonia free dye and have my fiance do it outside for me. Just to be safe.
Avatar m tn I started bathing in a mixture of Dr. Bronners peppermint soap, borax and ammonia (I bought ammonia at dollar store also). In order to save money, just buy one bottle of ammonia from dollar store, pour into a plastic or rubber container (big enough to soak you feet) that I also bought from the dollar store. You should find that your itching and crawling sensation calms down immediately. Don't waste a lot of money on stuff people say has helped them.
29837 tn?1414538248 Was thinking the other day how nice it would be to visit your city. Maybe after tx when I have the requiste energy. Don't know much, have read little, about ammonia levels. But if you read the post in a thread started by Pluggin Away yesterday he makes reference to ammonia levels, brain scatter (great term) and lactuose. Just a few threads down. Take care.
Avatar f tn Decompensated cirrhosis is where the liver is damaged enough that it can no longer do its jobs effectively. On of the livers jobs is to remove ammonia. So like I said as far as I know having high levels of ammonia causing is by definition a symptom of decompensated cirrhosis. However, the liver can improve with time by eliminating the cause of damage. So you could maybe have slipped into decompensated cirrhosis then stopped drinking and returned to being compensated when the HE improved.
Avatar f tn If it wasn't, people that do hair for a living that are pregnant, would have to quit their jobs. It's safe. You're fine. I personally chose not to dye my hair in the first trimester, but it is safe to do so.
Avatar m tn flares happen...you sure it's gout...you can get build up of urea, ammonia or become insulin resistant, get a lymphatic infection, and a whole host of other gout like things. kidneys working well?? what size are your shot welts? you can be allergic to the medium and have swelling in the area? Is it the knee and are you injecting near it?
Avatar n tn Like they said hair dressers don't quit their jobs. Just don't change the color everyday. You should be fine. You know us mommas have to keep up our looks too!!! Good luck!
495284 tn?1333897642 It was ammonia.....nasty stuff.
Avatar f tn Causes Your liver has several big jobs to do. One key task is to clean your blood by getting rid of harmful chemicals that your body makes. Hepatic encephalopathy starts when your liver gets damaged from a disease you've had a long time, like chronic hepatitis, Reye's syndrome, or cirrhosis. It doesn't work right anymore, and toxins get into your bloodstream and travel to your brain. They build up there and cause the mental and physical symptoms of HE.
Avatar f tn Once you have cirrhosis it is further broken down by compensated where your liver even though damaged is still able to perform its important functions and decompensated where your liver is so damaged it can no longer keep up with its jobs and symptoms of decompensated cirrhosis begin to appear.
Avatar m tn I know from babies that keep you up all night and night jobs, lack of restful sleep can make you get kind of weird and throw your memory off. I remember Joe would tell a story of something that happened in the past, and his facts would be way off. He was so sensitive about me saying he wasn't remembering things correctly, I just started grinning and letting it go. He doesn't seem to do that at all now.
Avatar f tn The liver has many jobs. It filters the toxins from your body, helps clot the blood, and plays an important part in digestion/nutrition. A person cannot live without it. Many people (yes, even some on my "friends" list) enjoy drinking alcohol. I hope you all read this post and understand that alcohol slowly kills your liver. There is a point where the damage becomes severe and permanant. Once that point is reached, it's too late. I can't help Mark recover his life. I wish I could.
Avatar n tn I have a friend in her early 40's with your genotype, did 24 weeks of tx, got well and went on with her life - now works too jobs. In your case, with your chance of a cure very high, it is generally worth the sides, which may not be too bad with only 24 weeks of tx bering the standard. Let us know.
Avatar n tn the only things out of limits is my ALT which was only slightly up between 71 and 90 AST was 41 to 45 and my Ammonia level is 38. I have an enlarged spleen and am a type 2 diabetic which I now can't seem to get under control. My stool is a light colored yellow and sometime bright red blood is on the tissue when I clean up. I have no money or insurance and Medicaid turned me down.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering with "brain fog", or at least that's what I've come to believe it is. I have Hepatis C and I do not know how long I've had it. I had a liver biopsy in 2001 and was told I had stage 2 liver disease. My liver enzymes are always slightly elevated and I have occasion pain and vomitting. My ammonia level is normal. Could Hep C really be the cause of this "Brain Fog" and if so, what can I do to improve my mind? I am an ICU nurse and I try not to self diagnose.
29837 tn?1414538248 Many people don't know that anesthesia and liver disease don't mix and with advanced cirrhosis it can cause liver failure. I had cancer so it wasn't like I had a choice to operate or not. No nose jobs, liposuction for me. Shucks! Stay stable and healthy...and enjoy your pizza!
Avatar n tn mat. training in 1990 and worked superfund jobs for 4 years. Every chemical has a target organ. The chemicals in most hair coloring products target the liver. The ones that don't, target the kidneys. Just a little FYI.
1566277 tn?1295312575 I have lost and missed out on some excellent work opportunities because this disease and I have been let go from my jobs (of course they make up some other excuses why they had to let me go) only to find myself completely out of work. A reasonably intelligent person brought down by this terrible disease. If you have any solution to this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
12773 tn?1328916786 but I don't have a job when I go back, so may stay on disability. Our jobs got surplused, and all were laid off, as of June 4.. so I have time with pay, and disability up to a year. but I am just really scared I guess and need some encouragement that others are going thru the same ?
400308 tn?1204250729 Waiting for test results, but my job as a real estate developer is very stressful and requires quick decisions that could effect many peoples jobs and lots of money. I hope I can continue if or when I begin treatment.
Avatar f tn Instead of paying 3.12 for a bottle of Mr. Clean, I spend 89 cents for Ammonia instead. When buying a big ticket item like a car, I never get the real expensive but look for comfort and gas mileage. Now days they make cars better so they last years longer than they ever did before. I may not have the built in gps but it is paid for and runs great!
Avatar n tn Also you can get access to free treatment drugs from the pharmaceutical companies. All you have to show is financial need, and you don't have to be flat broke either - people with houses and cars and jobs qualify. Look into the "committment to care" program, or contact the drug company's directly via their websites and they should be able to set you up.
Avatar f tn I can only describe it as an ammonia smell. It had lessened greatly until that 1 freakin night, but now seems to b wearing off again slowly.
