Avatar n tn 45, deviations outside this range affects normal functioning cells and body systems. With a strong ammonia odor, this could be corrected by eating more red meats, foods high in protein. You may not be drinking enough water. Then again, it could be the onsight of a urinary, bladder, or kidney infection. Consult your physician on your individual case.
Avatar m tn Have had systems of high ammonia levels for years. Stress has increased, I pass out and disoriented, Things move in my sight. Balance goes south, mobility down hill quick. Throwing up, all of a sudden start sweating profusely.
Avatar n tn There is more than one variety, and a specialist is needed to determine the specific type. Generally ammonia will destroy this kind of mold. I know people recommend other liquids, but ammonia is the way to go. Before using the ammonia the room should be "dewatered" with use of one of more dehumidifiers. These molds like moist places.
Avatar f tn She has been hospitalized three times for ammonia build-up and has been taking the meds (an oral pill and Lactulose) for a few months. Only a few good days in those months. Doctor says nothing more to be done now about ammonia because of other problems, heart valve replacement that can't be replaced, insulin diabetes. We are starting hospice tomorrow. All meds discontinued, except pain meds and anti-anxiety meds.
Avatar m tn Chlorine is used as a powerful combatant against many parasites and disease-causing pathogens in our water systems. It can also leave the skin dry and itchy, and leave hair dry, brittle, and prone to dandruff. Numerous scientific studies report that chlorinated water is a skin irritant and can be associated with rashes like eczema. Combined with volatile organic chemicals, it causes permanent respiratory problems.
Avatar f tn And there has to be a logical explanation as to what is causing this. Before the onset of these systems, I never had any vaginal or bladder issues ever. Has anyone had any similar experience?
Avatar f tn my husband has ESLD and ammonia levels go way up. He takes lactulose and zig axon amongst other meds but it still goes up. If they give him a general I've antibiotic it comes completely down to the 30's. Is there something they are missing.
Avatar f tn t speak for over the counter color but almost all professional color products are made with much gentler ingredients and much lower ammonia or no ammonia. Most have a very mild smell. Saying that though, some times hormonal changes can cause a lightner(bleach) to have unpredictable results. Like maybe staying a bit brassier than you'd like. But I personally have never encountered that problem. In my opinion I think it safe to do anything to your hair except keratin smoothing treatments.
Avatar m tn Cat has much more sensitive respiratory systems than we do and inhaling the ammonia fumes is worse than having ringworm. Secondly, if that bathroom is used for showering or other purposes that produce heat and moisture, that will provide ideal conditions for the fungus to continue to grow. Ringworm is active when there are live spores which look like teeny tiny white balls. The lesions themselves are not contagious but rather just dried and dead skin cells.
Avatar f tn Are you talking about Magnesium Hydroxide/Aluminum Hydroxide? Are you taking this to help with w/d symptoms from opiates or have you been taking this separately & feel you've abused it?
Avatar f tn Yes, it is safe to take Advanced Maalox while pregnant. Aluminum hydroxide magnesium hydroxide; simethicone is classified in FDA pregnancy risk category C. Avatar f tn Mellie has been taking Aluminum Hydroxide (10 ml) with food each meal, but today she had violent diarrhea and vomited last night's steak. She doesn't have long - I finally coaxed her to eat some boiled chicken and drink at 10 pm - but I am afraid to give any of these meds - she feels so bad. I gave her Cerenia. No more vomitting/diarrhea today, but there nothing inside her...
19691093 tn?1488194069 On January 3, I started giving him Aluminium Hydroxide gel powder as a phosphorous binder. (His bloodwork from February 3 showed phosphorous at 4.4, which was previously at 6.3 on December 19.) Today is February 24, and 4 days ago on February 20, I stopped giving Bebe the Aluminium Hydroxide because of suspected allergic reactions. On February 8, Bebe started pawing at his face more than usual.
1008841 tn?1293598960 In terms of diet, I believe you should be avoiding as much salt as possible, and at least for the short term, reduce animal proteins to avoid complications of ammonia toxicity. Try to limit your protein intake to things like legumes and soy products; they are less likely to metabolize into ammonia in your gut. Protein is an important component of your diet though; be sure to confirm any info you gather here with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I work in a paint department. I mix colors and clean up paint pretty much. Since I've worked there we have always used glass cleaner to clean the paint off the desk and our hands. I didnt know this until today but the cleaner we use has ammonia in it. I've been using it every day for a few months to get the paint off of my hands. Could it have hurt my baby?
Avatar n tn We discovered that my husband had an episode of Encephalopathy, which is high ammonia in the blood. But by the time we had his blood checked his levels were right smack in the middle of the range. Doctor said he was fine. So my question is can this ammonia gone untreated continue to rise and lower on its own. Because he has days that he seems fine and then days when he is not with me completely. He does not eat much as his taste buds are totally out of wack. Most foods taste very salty.
Avatar f tn I recently found out I had high ammonia, it was 66, I am taking lactalose and it is is now normal. All my blood work is within normal ranges on my liver function test and I also had a sonogram, have a mild fatty liver. Was wondering what could have caused this. I do drink a few beers a night.
