Avatar m tn 5 mg and some Hydroclorithiazide 25 mg (maybe mispelled) tablets to take. Should I take two of the Levamlodipine tablets to make 5 mg? And I'm guessing the Hydoclorithiazide 25 mg would be good enough to replace the Triaqmterene 37.5 mg. I was also taking Omprezole tablets for my stomach but the friend in China said I wouldn't need them taking the Levamlodipine and Hydroclorithizide. Could I get some medical advise on this.
Avatar m tn Can i take tablets such as Ibuprofen or Panamax whilst taking tablets for my heart attack?

Avatar n tn Hi, my mother has just started taking amlodipine for high blood pressure (her reading is very high at 210/120) She took the first one around 24 hours ago but has developed a SEVERE headache and cannot tolerate bright lights(so may be a migraine) Should she stop taking the tablets or is this a common side effect of the drug? Will it go away on its own if she carries on taking the tablets? She also feels weak and a little nausea.
Avatar m tn So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).

Avatar n tn I have problem of BP as well as acute knee pain since last 10 yrs and since last 3/4 months increased too much with swelling on foot- ankles due to increased dosage of Amlodipine-5 mg as pain killer causing increased BP. Now painkillers Dalonat and orecerin gm tablets are not reducing pain and causes cramps in both legs many times.Earlier Numoside with paracitomal used to stop pain for whole day but increased BP to 180/100 so stopped it.
Avatar m tn Hello, I was diagnosed a year ago with high blood pressure and was prescribed Amalodipine 5mg tablets to be taken one a day. I found i was having side effect trouble with my feet. The usual answer looking at Amalodipine side effects is swollen feet or/and more common is swollen ankles. I find that this is not the case with me, and want to know my problem.
Avatar n tn hi, saw the doctor today he told me not to take anymore Enalapril and instead given me Amlodipine tablets, have you heard of them ? After seeing their side effects i am not sure if they will help or not.
Avatar n tn I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar m tn There are 2 other medications that work well for angina that I would usually start prior to Ranexa which are Imdur (Isosorbide mononitrate) or Norvasc (Amlodipine) which can both help with angina and coronary vasospasm (spasm of the large and small vessels which give blood to the heart) which you may possible have.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your advice. I have been taking the following tablets for hypertension: Morning - Olmesartan (H) 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg; Evening - Olmesartan 40mg, Metoprolol Succinate Extended Release 25mg. Now, I have been further prescribed for 30 days, which I have started taking: Eltroxin 25mg empty stomach & Zyloric 100mg after breakfast. Kindly advise further.
Avatar m tn I have being told to continue sertraline and use diazepam as and when needed but to also take 1 amlodipine 5mg daily ro bring the bp down and that these were extremely safe wirh the only real side effect being swelling of ankles but to go back if that happens. I have come home and tested my bp and it is averaging about 130/90 but have being looking online about this amlodipine and seen people even call it poison. Is there any one here who uses it? Does it work? Is it worth it?
Avatar m tn I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure was around 155 over 110. I’m a 46 year old male and a regular drinker. I was put on 10/10mg perimdopral amlodipine tablets. My blood pressure seems to fluctuate from normal to high again and then normal. I went back to the dr who didn’t seem too worried. I can’t find any answers and going back to the drs will just result in the same issues. Feeling a bit lost and my anxiety is sky high because of this. Does anyone have any suggestions or like experiences? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
1102792 tn?1285925260 t get up to grab some drugs cos of severe shortage of breath, what saved me was my wife rushing to the nearest drug store and buyin a ventolin inhaler, franol (ephedrine+theophyline) and prednisolone, i felt better immediately but i still feel the asthma lurking in the backgrounds, especially when the sneezing bouts start, i usually ward it off with ventolin inhaler, i know i shud probably be taking the tablets but that puts alot of stress on my heart since i have chest pains due to hbp with sig
Avatar n tn Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
Avatar f tn They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.
Avatar n tn Hi. I have had high blood pressure for years. Like really high -- 190+over 90 very often. So I'm working on taking medication but I have a question about amlodipine. I start with Lisinopril 40mg, but my doctor added amlodipine. It helps but my ankles and legs swell up really bad. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. thanks.
Avatar n tn I've been taking amlodipine besylate (norvasc) for about 1 and a half months. For the last couple of weeks I've been experiencing very strong anxieties, panic attacks, and a totally sleepless night. I'd been on testim for years now as well and wonder if either one or a combination can be causing them.
Avatar m tn Luckily the doctor I went to recognized the blood pressure medicine I was on (Amlodipine) is known for swelling ankles. The brown discoloration is caused by the swelling. I looked it up and swelling of the ankle area was the most prevalent side effect for amlodipine. Thirteen percent of users experienced swelling. I got off amlodipine 2 months ago and have not had an episode of swelling since. It may take years for the brown to totally fade.
Avatar n tn I had a heart attack last year and am on beta blockers, ace inhibitors, clopidogrel and also thyroxine tablets for underactive thyroid. My bp has now stabilised and is between 98/49 -145/68. My pulse rate however, seems to only flucutate between the high 50s to as low as 43. Is this normal. I am 67 years old and overweight which I don't seem to be able to lose.
Avatar m tn I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine-Benaz 5/10 MG capsules for treatment of hypertension. However, my resting pulse rate has consistently been in the 90's and increasing into the 100's at time, so I have been prescribed Carvedilol to help control the heart rate. My question is, doesn't Carvedilol control hypertension as well...Why should I be taking carvedilol in addition to amliodipine?
