Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll get over the anger or mood swings until I get off of ambien. I'm 29 days off of hydrocodone. I think ambien has the same side effects as hydrocodone. I just want to be drug free!!!

Would your local mental health service have access to that information? Maybe whereever you go for governement assistance (financially) they may have some info. Have you tried a google search?

I was taking 30 or more of the 10 mg Ambien a day! You may not have it that bad. Just be patient. Ambien needs to be tapered. It doesn't give you restful sleep in the end. You will feel so much better when you get off of it. I promise! It nearly killed me! I had to have my stomach pumped twice and had 2 near fatal car accidents that I do not remember having! Please stop while you can!

Without the patient assistance program I probably wouldn't be SVR - when my insurance refused to let me extend, they coudln't have made it easier and didn't even make me feel bad about needing them to help.

I am also on Copaxone - can I suggest that you talk with them again at Shared Solutions and ask what criteria they use for patient assistance? They fund for people without insurance or underinsured through NORD - national organization of rare disease. Unfortunately it sometimes takes more than one phone call to connect with the right people at SS to get help. If you can't work it out with SS you might talk to your neurologist about other options.

I have also been tapering off of my pain meds and am a chronic pain patient. My GP has prescribed Clonidine (an old BP medication) which helps a ton with the symptoms you're mentioning. Im in such a routine now after 7 years of every single day taking ambien with a allergy pill to fall asleep. Not one day have I ever been able to fall asleep on my own, not even for 5 minutes. Lots going on in my head with strange dreams when I wake up.

t think doctor shopping for ambien is patient empowerment. Patient empowerment is knowing your drug information, using your psychiatrist as an expert, and acting responsibly, not just getting what you want because you've asked for it without researching the consequences.

My wife has been Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for 20+ yrs. She recently took a job in China and has been told the ultrasound show 'fatty infiltration of the liver'. She is 50 yrs old and drinks only occasionally and excercises and eats well/healthy for the most part. Could her long-term use of Zolpidem have contributed to this liver problem?
