1428440 tn?1287390379 Hi everyone I have not around for a few weeks I have not been feeling to well. I am here for some ideas and advice. I went to the suboxone doctor on Monday and I tested positive for benzo's. I was stunned when the test came back positive. I have not taken anything that is any form of a benzo and the doctor says that not any of the medicines I am on could cause a positive test.
Avatar n tn I broke out into hives before, but it was after taking too many opiates. High as a kite but itching all over. It might be rare, but hives could cause swelling in the throat area constricting the airway. I won't speculate further as a doctor would be more qualified but I think you should consult one to determine the cause.
Avatar f tn My husband has RLS and I took 1/2 tablet of his Klonopin 1mg. I was offered a job on Thursday and have to go take a drug test. Will this 1/2 tablet I took show in my drug test. Also I am taking 500mg of amoxcillion. Should I tell them I am taking that also. I have only taken 1/2 tablet ever and it did help, but haven't taken any more. Thank you S.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed me a drug on the possibility that the problem could be acid reflux. While I was in the office, I forgot to ask whether this new drug could interact with the Ambien, so I stopped taking the Ambien until I could see my doctor again. About a month went by in which I did not use Ambien at all. During this time, the abdominal pains gradually lessened over a period of weeks, and eventually disappeared.
Avatar f tn Your doctor should have been aware of that and held off on adding a sleep aid. The Ambien sounds like nothing more than drug overload to me. And the pharmacist telling you to take Benadryl is a tad questionable in my book as well. He/she should have told you to call your doctor immediately. Any time there is chest pain involved, it should never be ignored. Benadryl WILL make you sleepy, but it sure won't save you from a heart attack. I realize I may be scaring the daylights out of you.
1238606 tn?1304201621 there are 4 phases and right now I am in phase 2, which is drug test twice weekly, group meeting twice a week and have to make 3 aa or na meetings a week. It sound like a lot and it is but I have to say this has definitly played a big role in my recovery...i have to be in this phase for 6 months and I have one more month left. then off to phase 3 which are weekly group meetings and then phase 4 is graduation!!! Can't wait. If everything goes good I have about 9 more months left.
Avatar f tn Ambien CR is a longer lasting drug. But I'd get off of it with what you're experiencing. Your psych doctor knows best, work with him on this. I personally have refused Ambien due to all the side effects. Take care..
Avatar n tn I took ambien for 6 months during a really hard time in my life and I'm telling you it is a bad drug. doctors are prescribing this drug for months and years and it should never be used more than 10days to 2 weeks according to manufacture websites. I have been really researching this medication along with some others like Lunesta. What you are experiencing is Withdrawals from this medication and it will take you weeks to get over it once you are completely off of it.
Avatar f tn I don't know for sure, but I don't know how a virus in the blood would cause the same chemical reaction with the test kit as opiates. I'm wondering how your daughter managed to talk a doctor into prescribing Ambien to her while she was pregnant. Most doctors are extremely careful about what they allow a pregnant woman to take because the baby can get it too. Something sounds fishy to me.
491910 tn?1209366193 This might be long as I have a few concerns... Well I'm on day 5 off the Vicodin and I feel really good =) I just have horrid headaches but that was the reason I began taking them in the first place...
552011 tn?1239333219 what helped me. you're taking a high dose of ambiem. i was on this drug almost a year. worse year of my life with depression. i just recently stopped taking it just to see if it was the culprit. i was also started on abilify 2mgs. it took 2 weeks to come out of a very sever depression. today is a happy day and so was last week. i've have'nt let my guard down, but i don't go looking for depressive feelings or thoughts. i also made myself work out.
Avatar f tn Where is your doctor in all of this? Did he give you a taper plan on the Elavil and Ambien?
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
Avatar m tn If this was a one-time attempt by you to overdose or a one-time accident, that wouldn't cause withdrawal. That comes after regular use for a period of time and then stopping.
10515800 tn?1419227034 And ambient is a sleeping pill that is prescribed, not over the counter drug. She gave me a really high dose to. I've taken benedryl and Tylenol before and passed out from being so tired. I'm wide awake and just paranoid and it's creeping me out.
1394601 tn?1328032308 Does anyone take Ambien? Is there a reason a neurologist wouldn't prescribe it when it seems to be the only means of a good night's sleep? I am on Rebif. Is it the combination of the drugs? I am not understanding why she doesn't want to prescribe it. I guess go to alcohol? No prescription needed there!
Avatar n tn If you take it for a few days in a row, then you will have a night or two where it is more difficult to fall asleep. It is important to note that ANY drug can be psycholgically addictive, but Ambien DR has a very safe profile, does not typically cause any withdrawal symptoms like opiates do...from my experience.
Avatar f tn Thanks Ricart, I was in a panic over the ambien. What a relief it is to get over that!!!! It is like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I didn't feel like I was really Clean until I quit those. I'm going to give the amitriptyline about a month and hopefully I can get off it. Thanks for the support and information.
Avatar f tn You would take this in lieu of the ambien. You may need to ween off the ambien a bit at first. Insomnia has always been the greatest issue for me as well with anxiety/depresssion and Trazadone has been the solution. Good luck.
Avatar f tn i have been using ambien for many years now. i used the ambien and it's generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. This one does not seem to be working as well and the side effect just seem wierd Does anyone think that the new manufacturer product is inferior and has anyone experienced this?
Avatar n tn Ambien won't cause you to have a positive on a pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn s two kind of drugs, new drugs and old drugs. In 1994 or thereabouts, ambien was a new drug and the pharmaceutical company proclaimed it non-narcotic and non-addicting. When it becomes an old drug, its "OOPS, it is addicting." While not a benzo, it has the same result of messing up your brain's chemistry along with your normal sleep/wake cycle.
Avatar m tn HI ambien is highly addictive if taken over extended times....I highly doubt 1 dose is going to be a problem but we have had members who have struggled to get off it after being on it a wile there are other drugs such as trasadone that dont have the addictive property's that ambien or any of the other z meds have talk to your doctor about this and get put on something safe good luck and God bless......
Avatar f tn Good for you George, I have this problem but I wake up every 2hours. I travel so much with my work that my sleeping hours are never consistent. For that reason I never use a sleep aid. At only 5mg of Ambien a day I don't think you will build up a tolerance to Ambien anytime soon. Glad you can get some sleep anyway, I never seem to get more than a couple of hours a day.
